Two cameras aren't a selling point.
Yeah, disappointed with this too. I’m guessing this is going to be sold as an in-between of the Flip & Fold 8 because both screens of the Fold 8 Wide (inner and outer) will be smaller than the standard Fold 8.

As long as the price reflect that of the specs that it will have (maybe 150-200 less than the Fold 8)… I’m on board. Camera is not really a selling point for me… as long as it’s decent enough since I have a dedicated camera for photo taking.

I think I'll have to put my hands on it. I forgot how much I enjoyed a good camera until I went from the Fold 5 to a Pixel so I'm not looking to make a big compromise in camera quality going forward.

Tbf… Galaxy Fold never had a decent telephoto lens, always been mediocre in this department. I get the whole better to have it than not have it argument… but Samsung opting to remove it entirely from the Fold 8 Wide isn’t such a huge negative.

Now, this is based on the assumption that the two lens will be a main and ultra-wide.

I'm okay with the camera if they keep the two solid and even improve but I'm always going to have a Pixel phone in my corner. I'm also looking to see iPhone Fold to replace my 15 Max so it might be okay not to upgrade.
Yeah, it’s going to be a pricy year for me as well… iPhone Fold for the lady and upgrading to the Fold 8 Wide for me (no hesitation).

I only have one phone, well one that I use, so camera quality is important to me. I'm not ruling anything out though.

Totally understand and a good camera that's reliable is a big plus..I've been switching eSIM between both phones which gives me satisfaction and keeps me from spending on more tech

Could you end up having one SIM tied to both phones? Like Carrier Multi-SIM/Number Share... or is that not possible with an iPhone & Android phone.

I've not checked if possible but I've always carried two separate numbers which I prefer along with a Google Voice number that forwards to all both lines..

So Samsung is copying iPhold two-camera design? Bring back the S Pen but remove a camera? Some odd design decisions, but maybe it's the cost of components and/or trying to reserve more space to squeeze in a larger battery.

But this is only for the Fold 8 Wide... not planning on doing it for the standard (regular) Fold 8. But I do think cost cutting is playing a part on this... undercutting the competition.

Still enjoy my tri fold. No plans to sell it. Hopefully Samsung keeps their promise on updates being same as others
After today's announcements of One UI 8.5 betas coming through... I'll be kind of concerned.

Even the Fold 7 and S25 series are getting beta updates today.

I think reason for that is if it gets bricked it will screw the device. So maybe from their point of view it’s in case it comes into issues

That’s my thinking

The Oppo Find N6 is getting praise left and right. Its only weakness appears to be that it isn't dust proof. I want it, such a shame that oppo isn't bringing it to Europe 🙁

Beta update alert! Fold 6, second update!

I never really realized that Moto had such a big market share in the foldable market (particularly in the US)… I guess the Moto RazR is a big hit in the foldable space. No wonder Moto is bringing out their book-style version.

I still can't believe that after all these years the Pixel line continues to be a flop when it comes to sales 😶‍🌫️. Even Motorola managed to become successful after being almost dead. For some reason, Google can't make the Pixel line successful, I would say yeah, it's because of their awful tensor and bad modems, but I don't think the general public even knows about that... It's a shame because Pixel UI is by far the most beautiful UI out of all the Android skins and better (and more accesible) that Apple's Liquid Glass UI

When checking more information on foldable market in the US... Moto has a more budget friendly portfolio compared to Google, which helps in grabbing more market share. If I'm a average joe that walks into a carrier store and see a Razr that can be had under 500, I would opt for that instead of a 1500+ foldable.

And I agree with you Pixel UI has a compeling interface... but the average joe looks more at the price tag. Moto is now stepping into the premium market with their book-style foldable... when Google started from the jump and they don''t have any flip phone nor do I think they plan on making one.
