iPod touch FOR CANADIANS: Online order status / Store stock

I went and picked up a 80 gig classic to replace my 30 gig.

Wow, what an upgrade. If there were any problems with them the firmware upgrade fixed them.

If your on the fence do yourself the favor and pick one up.
 
called vancouver best buy today
they said they wont be getting them in until about oct 12th.
seemed kind of agitated on the phone, i expect there have been lots of calls.:p

Popped into Yorkdale at lunch. Still no Touches. They're towing the company line: ships on the 28th. Any other options? I dyyying over here. I'm seriously becoming obsessed. Walden Galleria store says they have 2 16GB but I'm not willing to driving all the way there and then they get snaggged before I arrive. Having an impulsive personality is really a drag sometimes.
 
I am getting really pissed with Apple.

First they shipped units to Apple stores early, and now they're slowly shipping out Ipod Touch's to some. This is BS. Calling now...

I cancelled mine. Not taking any chances with sub standard screens. I'll check it out in the store, before I buy. I can wait now.
 
I would assume that if you currently have an order in place for an iPod touch and it has not shipped yet, it will be free of screen defects. Apple would have by now had ample time to identify which batch of iPod touches have the negative black issue, and would have stopped these from shipping to customers, especially now, since it has been a few days since the issue was first reported. Here's hoping..
 
For everyone who pre-ordered from Canada. What size did you get? Im thinking maybe the 8GB will be shipping almost immediately.

I've heard nothing but "28th or later" from them. BB and FS say Oct 11 on their site, which can't possibly be right - can it?

BTW, (to everyone else) Alaska is a US state. Canada has the North West Territories, Nunavut, and the Yukon... now, why the Touch ended up in Alaska? well you lost me there...

When everything gets shipped out of Asia it goes directly to Alaska, where it is then shipped to various places.
 
I'm in Canada and I cancelled my preorder. I ordered directly after the keynote and it said it would ship by the 28th and deliver anywhere from the 9th-11th.

All this = waiting over a month for the touch only to have to send it back since it will probably have a faulty screen. No thanks, Apple.
 
OK I was annoyed before, now I'm steamed! People in the EU are receiving touch already? I just read in another thread...

Also, our Loon' hit parity this morning - wow. So why are we paying 329 for something that should cost 299? :(
We should get a car pool together and buy our Pods in the states otherwise the Martians may have Touches before we do (and they will pay less, too)

Correct. It's quicker to bring goods up thru Russia via air & rail than to stick 'em on a boat from China.

I am seriously considering this. If they have 16GBs touches in Buffalo on Friday or Saturday I'm going.
