iPod touch FOR CANADIANS: Online order status / Store stock

Just changed to "Prepared for shipment". I'm in Ottawa and it was ordered on Sept. 5th at 12:29 PST.

Now onwards to "Shipped"!

That's awesome! I would love that. Maybe it could even say "Hey, still haven't shipped it mate, but at least you're not gonna be stuck with a crap screen like those american suckers!"

LOL just kidding. I feel bad for the ppl who got duds, just couldn't help myself.

Screw patience lol my order is w309xxxx and it hasn't changed it... and now I'm going away for the weekend and I won't find out until I get back... BASTARDS
 
Just got a email from Apple. My iPod Touch has shipped. I can't believe it. I truly thought I would be looking at "Prepared for Shipping" for a week before anything happened.
 
Mine has just shipped as well. Gets here by Tuesday! Not bad at all.

Hoping to get a nice little 38 in my S/N.
 
Just got my shipment notification too! It will be here September 25, Tuesday. That's awesome!

I am sure the others will receive their notifications soon too:)!

I chose regular shipping! I don't know why but it looks like they sped up the shipping. No complaints here.

Just got the e-mail from Apple; says Shipment Date: Sep 22, Delivers By: Sep 25.

Pleasantly surprised at the delivery date - hope it will hold true.

Chose regular shipping; ordered Sep 7 08:42 AM PDT; Order # W3092xxxx
 
Makes a lot of sense....Ordered mine on the 5th, still sitting at prepared for shipping. I'm on the phone with Apple and they can't figure out why orders placed later than mine are already being shipped. Seriously, confusing and very annoying!
 
Got the "Apple Store Shipment Notification" e-mail about an hour ago :)

I chose the FEDERAL EXPRESS (most expensive) shipment option.

SEP 22, 2007

Delivers by:
SEP 25, 2007

I'd be so happy if I get my iTouch by Tuesday!!
 
From past experience, 1st Gen Nano and 2nd Gen Shuffle, when the release date is slated for later than the announcement date, they just ship them from Asia directly with Fedex, without differentiating who chose regular or expedited. If people in Canada are getting notifications for Tuesday, expect them in AppleStores that day as well. Hopefully, the screen issues will have been resolved, as I am anxiously awaiting the purchase of one myself.

Still it's a bit frustrating. Although to be perfectly honest if this annoyance results in a better chance at getting a week 38+ model I'm all for it. I did call Apple to see if by some odd chance mine did ship (mine was prepped for shipping before it showed up online) without notification. I ended up getting put on hold for a long time and they refunded me the $13 for 2nd day shipping and gave it to me for free. They gave me the whole not supposed to ship by the 28th line and that the people getting the shipping notices could be getting them by mistake...I don't believe that! Besides he kept commenting that all units for Canadian orders would ship on or before the 24th...after he talked to his supervisor that changed to the 28th!
 
This is frustrating for someone as impatient as I :p

Late last night my order changed to "Prepared for Shipment", and now at 8pm EST, it does not look like it is going to ship tonight. This will likely mean I will need to wait until Monday for it to ship, and instead of the iPod arriving on Tuesday like I had expected, it will arrive by Thursday or Friday.. Nothing big, I just expected it on Tuesday :)
 
Same. i was all hyped up when people were posting that theres were changing from prepared for shipping to shipped si i thot it would happen to mine too...no such luck as of yet.
 
Remember last year when they announced the new shuffle in September with an October ship, and they shipped Oct. 31st and all the Apple Stores had them along with everyone else on the same day more or less, in very early November. I checked order status once a day for 6 weeks. We're lucky to be getting them within 3 weeks of the special event. And with good screens........we hope. I work down the street from the Apple Store in Laval. I gotta check the serials and the demos before I plunk any cash down.
 
Can someone goto the Apple Online store and check your invoice, which will show your iPod Touch's serial number, and report back on the week number. Please don't post your entire serial number, just the week. The serial number should start with something similar to this: 9c738

Where the 4th and 5th digits indicate the week, in this case week 38.

woot! My iPod touch just shipped! Like it must have JUST shipped, as I am unable to view any invoices, and on the fedex tracking page it says, "Status:
Shipment exception". Weird...

skrysko: I will post the serial number when the invoice is updated :)
 
I'm actually pissed.

2 other people in Toronto got their 16GB Engraved touches and they ordered 2 days AFTER me...

That pisses me off... I called and complained and was basically told "Sorry please go pound salt and like it..."

This is the same as going to the apple store and waiting in the 4 hour line up for a product and them walking to the back of the line and saying "Why don't you come to the front and we wil serve you first"

While this isn't the end of the world by any means, it's still bad business...
 
Mine shipped at around 5:30 EST this morning so it looks like they aren't stopping for the weekend.
