I registered to thank you for posting that link. I think it will be very helpful to me.

I am a short woman but I survived carrying around the Hitachi G1000 for nearly a year. If you don't know what phone that is, was an early 2000's Windows Mobile phone with the following specs:
Dimensions:
5.80 x 3.30 x 0.90 inches (146 x 83 x 23 mm)

Weight:
8.40 oz (238 g)

It had a physical thumb board and a swivel camera. I quite liked it and carried it with me everywhere in its supplied leather belt clip case or in my front left pocket of whatever jeans or shorts I was wearing. There was one particular pair of shorts it would nearly drag down. I'm sure I looked incredibly stupid wearing that phone but the benefits of having that phone on me far outweighed opinions of passing strangers. I'm grumpy. I don't care about things like that.

But it was a brick. I was glad to switch it for a smaller Palm Treo 600 and later smaller devices. The last time I was happy and comfortable carrying a phone was IPhone 4. I find the IPhone 5 jabs me every time I sit down when it's in my pants pocket. That may be why I'm so grumpy these days.

I do carry purses or backpacks when I go out, but I hate putting my phone in them. The phone always ends up buried and I miss hearing it ring. I also use my phone as a camera. I'm always taking photos and videos of the kids and pets and family events. I would miss spontaneous moments if the phone is stuck in the purse. I've also got it in a leather credit card/ID holding case so I don't have to carry my wallet all the time, either. So my phone wearing habits aren't all that different from my husband's. I'm a jeans and t-shirt or jeans and sweater girl and I favor LL Bean "mom jeans" that have big pockets. Still..l get jabbed by that blasted iPhone 5, dang it!

I'm really not thrilled to go back to something as big as the Hitachi (though thankfully not as heavy) but if the IPhone 5 is already a pain to keep in my pocket like I prefer, the 6 isn't going to be much more fun. I may as well go for the 6 plus and see how it goes. I've got no idea how I'm going to keep it on me. I'll wing it.

I'm getting the 128GB model. I kept running out of room on my 64 because I take so many photos and videos for school functions.

Sorry to write a book, but I was curious if there were any other women who don't like putting their phone in a purse and want it on them as much as possible. I get a little frustrated when online discussions sort of go in the direction of assuming we all are using purses.

I've no idea what color I'm getting. Last time I took space gray because that's all the AT&T store had in stock for 64GB models. I guess I'll get another. I really don't care that much about the color.

My wife wanted the 6+, until she saw the video of a guy holding it (or a 6+ case) up to his ear as if talking on it. Carrying it around isn't a problem and the size probably would make texting easier, but she talks a lot on her cell phone at work, and carries it with her as she roams around the university.

I go on hikes and I'm with you I wear a small hydration backpack with my 4s in my shorts or jeans pocket. I don't think they make womens jean with deep pockets like men's. So if the 6+ ends up being a pain I'm either going to return or sell it.

AllergyDoc, why did the video change her mind? Did she think it looked uncomfortable to talk on? I do quite a bit of talking on my iPhone usually one day a week when I catch up with my parents and in-laws. I find the smaller phones awkward especially if I try to tuck it under my chin so I can use both of my hands to work while I'm talking. I'm kind of hoping the monster phone will actually be easier to use. If I recall correctly, my G1000 was okay to talk on. But that phone was thicker. iPhones are thin and slippery.

6+ and it might fit in my purse, if I put it in a different pocket. My sister is getting 6+ also...she is using it as an excuse to shop for a new purse.

I think I've decided on the 16GB Space gray 6 Plus
16gb is all I really need on my phone as I work from home so everything is stored on my Mac or ipad anyway.
I had the gold 5s but something about that sleek black front and grey back is really sexy:cool:

Can you send a link to the video. I can't find it. Thanks.

I am going with the iphone 6 128gb in spacy grey- I loved my gold 5s but I didn't like the white face/bezel

DoxieLover are you tall? LL Bean puts nice deep pockets on their jeans. Problem is I'm too short at 5'1" to avoid the iPhone 5 sliding up and sticking me in the hip when I sit or bend down to pick something up. My tall husband doesn't have that problem even in jeans with somewhat shallow pockets, so I'm thinking it's more of a height problem than a pocket problem I've got. Sometimes I stick the phone in my back pocket but it doesn't feel too secure back there. And I don't wear my jeans that loose that it's comfortable doing that, either. But when working in the garden, where I have to do a lot of bending, I have no choice.

I may go back to wearing a belt clip holster. Some fellow was on another thread saying rather unkind remarks about people who wear them. Good...may he and others like him run across me in my phone holster someday and be offended over my appalling fashion sense. I shall feel great joy. :D

Same here. I prefer having the phone on my person so I always wear a hoodie. My jeans pockets are just too small for the iPhone 5/5s. Alas, the iPhone 6 Plus is too big for even my current jackets and hoodies. I do have a Pebble watch so that solved issues with not hearing my phone ringing or not seeing text messages when it's in my purse. :p

Lol, I'm the same height. Maybe I should start shopping from LL Bean. It's always hard to find pants that fit me (short and chubby).

iPhone 6, 64gb in Silver

I'm going with the 6, I thought about the plus but it won't fit into a lot of my bags (especially some smaller clutch style bags) and I have small hands so I think the 4.7 inch screen will work well for me.

I debated on color, I thought I'd originally go with gold, but then changed my mind again and decided to go with silver.

Hopefully I don't change my mind again before preordering.

Grumpymom, I'm 5'10 but I'm not a girlie girl who carries a purse all the time. I'm the outdoorsy type so I'm a little worried about the size too. I found the video you were looking for. It does look big up to the ear. For the 6 plus he uses a thin case made for it.

Good vid of phone comparison tests with 6+ up to ear

I'm still torn between 6 and 6+ and space gray vs silver.
I have had white since it became an option.... but for some reason it hasn't sold me as quickly as it has in the past.

I know I will be getting 128gb

I have about 2.5 more hours to figure it out!

I love that so many females have chimed in. :) sometimes I feel like I'm in a room full of boys. Which isn't so bad either but

Here's a lift from a YouTube video of a guy holding a 6+ case to his ear:

6 Plus - I can't wait for a bigger screen. Hate having to put on my glasses to see the phone. Gold 64 gb. Even though I always cover up the back with a cover.

I'm having a hard time concentrating on anything except this pre-order. This never gets old.

What are you all doing to resell your 5s?

Yep apple preorder ritual every year. Definitely the decision this year the worst before only color and storage.

I'm going to keep my 4s for backup for now. I've had it 3 years going strong. Never had a single problem.

Bushbaby your from so cal too? Lots of Cali girls on Macrumors.

Thank you for the references, AllergyDoc and Doxielover. Egads, that Plus is a big ol' slab! Well I'll give it a try and see how it goes. I sometimes have the best luck and best adventures and happiest discoveries when I just wing it with no clue how I'm going to go about things. Hubby is the meticulous planner in the family. He's going with the 6 plus in 128 and Space Gray. I think I'll tell him to just make it a double when he places our order and be done with it.

I like gold and silver, too, but I'm thinking with the size of the Plus, people are going to notice gold and silver flashing reflected light too much when I'm trying to get those relaxed candid shots out of the kids and grandparents.

As for why I want to try the Plus over the regular 6, I really would like a nice big screen. I have little hands so I'm used to using the phone with two hands. I do a lot of texts and thumb typing on that tiny screen is killing me. My best friend and I could fill several pages on that autocorrect humor site with our horrid typos. Texting on iPad mini is no fun either...too big. The size of the Plus is ideal in every way for me except the carrying of it.

I hear you grumpymom you make some valid points. Hmmm I wonder if the gold could be reflective while picture taking and ruin shots?

I'll chime in with the "I'm sticking with my 5 for another year or two!" My phone just doesn't spend enough time actually in my purse. Usually it's in my hand, on a table, or in my pocket. I'm 5'6" with rather long fingers, and the Galaxy S5 and definitely the Note 3 feel too big for me. Looking at pictures comparing the 5s and 6, that too row of app icons is nearly two rows higher! My thumb doesn't even stretch that far on the nearer side! I might change my mind when I see them in person, but I have until January when my contract is up to decide. I just don't want to keep my 5 until September 2016 to wait for the 7 :p

I'd also like to know how age factors in. I'm in my 20s and a college student. Eyesight is good enough that I don't wear glasses.
