What I can not like is the very real leaked shells we've been seeing. I can not like them real good.
Show us one thread where someone wanted a larger screen and is now complaining that the screen on this leaked design is too big. This new screen leak is anything but too big.Amazing, people complain about wanting an iPhone with a 4" screen all over the forums, then when it's leaked they're like "it's too big..., blah blah blah"
Anyway, looks like this is what we're getting folks. Lump it or leave it. As unsatisfying as this half-ass attempt at a larger screen is, it's better than what we have now.
A render is just a picture. Renders are horrible for the human mind because they make us desire something that requires such precision that it nearly impossible to manufacture on a large scale. That's why graphic designers are not engineers.
Looks like an EVO 4G, except silver in the back instead of white or black.
I am more than 50% confident that the speculation and leaks are real. Apple can try to stop leaks all they want, but the only way they will ever be able to stop pre-production parts and samples from leaking is to bring all manufacturing in-house.
When Apple talks about secrecy being important, I think they mean internal employees providing insider info such as the case was with thinksecret.com
That't the problem, they are. Millions are going to Android, the S3 in particular. Apple would like those sales back. It's not obvious people want bigger screens and Apple can either build what people want or lose millions of sales. Considering Apple likes making money, they are likely going to give people what they want. The 4" screen is a middle ground. It's a larger screen but not huge to alienate those who like a smaller screen. It'll never happen but I wish they could make two versions, a 3.5 and a 4.3-4.8.
I know there is data showing Android winning overall marketshare. Does anyone have data showing that the iPhone is not the #1 selling smartphone?
This would be great if Cook was 12yo. But I don't think he is.
If people don't like the phone, don't buy it. I didn't like any smartphone until the iPhone 4 came out. Including the first 3 iPhones. So the 4 was my first smartphone purchase.

Both Apple and Samsung grew their shipments year over year. However, Samsung has shipped way more than Apple this quarter, so their quarter marketshare is higher.

According to this different study, Android in general has actually lost marketshare this quarter, year over year.
Basically Samsung is shipping more phones in total but no one can tell how many of them are Galaxy models.
That would be pretty great all right, especially since the rumored design completely blows. I'm afraid it's a long shot though. It seems that this hideous abomination of a design we have been seeing is what we're going to get.
Would loveeee it if that happened but not likely. Not really liking the new iPhone "leaked photos" but there's a rendering that someone posted on this site and that looked beautiful~~ and it came with much bigger screens. Now if THAT was the new iPhone... sighhhh...
Sorry but that looks like the ugly child of an iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4S. And looks thicker then the current iPhone.
I like the new look. It a pretty big redesign, something many people have been clamoring for an yet they are still upset. I really dont get it.
People want a bigger phone, so the phone is bigger, and in a smart way. They want a better antenna, and assuming the rumors are true, it will be. They want a new design, and there is a new design.
Apple fans are the biggest criers out there.
I love the iPhone 4/4S design, but I am really looking forward to the redesign that we will see with the (new) iPhone (5) (LTE) (6th gen).
First, it is not a redesign IMO... Making it slightly taller on the same form factor is not a redesign at all. Switching to a new plug adapter and moving the headphone jack does not count as a redesign. Please, give me a break. It is literally, the same phone... Only Taller.
Second, The phone may be bigger, but not everyone thinks it is bigger in a smart way. From what I have seen (through polls and comments), more people who want a larger phone want it to be both taller and wider than ones who agree with you for the only taller phone.
Third, There is no reason to attack people for having an opinion that is different than yours.
Yes--absolutely. Same phone, only taller. And thinner. And with a metal back. And probably a new processor, NFC, LTE, and a nicer camera. Oh, and most likely lighter and with improved battery life. Other than all that, it's totally the same phone.
With all this talk about the leaked design it could be totally different like last year. This could potentially be an old prototype with the real iPhone being the rumored tear drop design.
You missed my point... The iPhone 4S has the same form factor as the iPhone 4... and it is a different phone of course.
I wasn't arguing that it is the same phone. It has the same form factor, and that it is not a new "design".
