Was a bit underwhelmed with the keynote today, especially with the amount of features that are coming to the 15, but Apple advertised it as a 16 feature. Have also already seen a lot of people pre-ordering and getting ready to upgrade to the 16/Pro from a 15/Pro.

If you’re doing this, I’m curious as to what it is about the 16 that won you over to pay for the upgrade?

Camera button, Apple AI since I won’t get it on my iPhone 15. I also want to go back to a bigger screen/battery.

For me the only reason this year would be battery life, but I‘m already used to charge my 15PM once during the day beside of the full charge over night.

Also, I‘m located in the EU, so no AI for me and no reason to upgrade.

I'm considering getting from 15 plus to 16 pro max probably. (probably I have a problem... 🤷‍♀️). 120hz is 120hz - not deal breaker but nice to have. But on the other hand I like the new colors on base models. So there are 2 options for me

1. 16 Pro max 256 GB
2. 16 Plus 512 GB(when I decide to ditch 120hz display)

and the option 3 -> I keep what I have for another year...

It should work if you set the language to American English, no? I hope…
Oh, see? .. I forget that. I'm also in EU. If we talking about AI I think it will need more than just switch the phone to US english. It will be probably blocked based on location where you buy / using phone. For example like the US AW10 missing blood oxigen app but those in Germany not.

For me major reason is I need a 2nd camera for streaming some events. I all ready have the 15PM paid off. While i could sell it and get a 2nd camera but iphone works so well for wireless camera feed. Also i upgrade every year lol. Most time my phone does to a family member in need of a new phone but this time i am going to keep for me self.

Actually one of the first years I’m not upgrading. I’m on a 15 Pro Max. Not convinced by the new camera control - I actually like the current camera UI and think the button is completely unnecessary.

The 15 Pro Max is still a super phone with 8Gb ram and an excellent camera system. I’m both disappointed at the new phones but happy to save a lump of money.

Feels like phones are more like washing machines or microwaves now - sure the newer ones are better but there’s no need to update them very often.

I would take a 90's washing machine that doesn't break or give load errors after a few months like these new ones do. lol

Exchanging money for shiny new thing gives serotonin or something.

In all seriousness, some of us just want the latest thing and work backwards for a justification. I'm upgrading for bigger battery, even though my 15 Pro's battery isn't too bad.

My iPhone 15 Pro Max battery has a 88% battery health now. Need to charge it every day and sometimes twice a day.
New battery with Apple will cost 109 EUROS. I get 680 euros for my trade in. So it will be 700 euros for a "new" phone.

Besides that, I travel a lot, do a lot of Photography, but I am really disliking my iPhone 15 Pro Max Camera. I had issues with the camera and showed Apple. One Apple Store in South Korea says it needs to be replaced, Apple Store Amsterdam says NO. Pictures are not clear, especially when somebody moves.

So for me, I want to upgrade also for the camera.

Im not sure about upgrading yet. I'm tempted because iPhone 16 Pro seems to offer same battery as my 15 Plus ... but I better wait for tests on that I guess. I would just really really love to have a smaller phone again. (And better camera would be a nice plus too)

But on the other hand I like the new colors on base models.
I like them too. I enjoy my natural titanium 15 Pro but Apple needs to show some love to the Pro colors, they're rather dull. I can understand neutral options (as I'm excited to pick up some new bands like this) but I'd totally go for a regular 16 if I were upgrading.

I currently have the 15 Pro. I’m upgrading mainly because I want to and I can. I’m getting the 16 Pro.

Other than that, I’m hoping to get better battery life, a different color, 5x zoom, the extra .2 inches without needing the massive Max, the camera control button might be cool, among other things.
