Colors, tired of 50 shades of gray that's taken over the pro line and here to stay apparently. It means some sacrificing, but ugh, I need that pink in my life, especially with fall/winter coming up, dull time of year as it is.

It’s a topic as old as the forums lol. It’s simple people upgrade cause they want and have the means to do so. Nothing wrong with people spending money on hobbies and stuff. I am an Apple fan, gamer, and comic book nerd so people probably think I am weird for spending money of some of those things.

That said, I have a 15 pro max and just don't think it's worth upgrading this year if you have a 15 pro model ( in my opinion of course). I usually upgrade every 2-3 years and found that to be the sweet spot. But to each their own.

People think I'm weird for still playing World of Warcraft.

I intend the 16 to be my new daily driver. But I will keep the 15PM around for the 5x camera zoom.

Was a bit underwhelmed with the keynote today, especially with the amount of features that are coming to the 15, but Apple advertised it as a 16 feature. Have also already seen a lot of people pre-ordering and getting ready to upgrade to the 16/Pro from a 15/Pro.

If you’re doing this, I’m curious as to what it is about the 16 that won you over to pay for the upgrade?
I had AOD on the 14 Pro. Have missed it way too much on my 15 Plus. I'll be getting a 16 PM.

Really let down that the screen didn't get brighter this year. Happy for the larger screen and Capture Control.

It’s one of the smallest updates I’ve seen and if I had a 15 I wouldn’t bother. In fact, I’m now due to upgrade myself and comparing costs between the two as it might make more sense to go for a 15 Pro.
Which upgrade were bigger? I thought there was quite a lot of differences between the 15 and 16 base models this year.

15 Pro's are amazing phones, especially now, all the bugs are pretty much worked out. I think it's the closest I've ever gotten to a perfect Iphone, literally no issues whatsoever, which is why I'm wondering if I need to have my head examined with what I'm preordering.

Here is how I look at it...

I sell my iphone PM every year for $900 (I work at a phone store)
I get the new one for $1200 sooo that's a $300 investment I'm paying every year

$300/12 months is $25

$25 bucks a month to get the latest and greatest is worth it, we use these things every single day of our lives.

all depends on the person I guess and how much you value your phone.
That's some unrealistic numbers here in Southern California. I would be lucky to get $900 for my iPhone 15 Pro Max 1TB after ebay/swappa fees. After having one of my friend's robbed while trying to sell his iPhone, never doing that. So it would cost almost $1000 to upgrade every year buying the phone out right and then selling it. Since I need high capacity storage, IUP is the best value for upgrades as you will NEVER recover the extra money paid for Apple's exorbitant storage prices.

Because I’ve owned every iPhone generation except the 5S because we just moved into a new house and my wife was about to have our first baby and I just never got around to it.

But mainly because I can go back down to the regular Pro size and have the 5x zoom which I actually did use quite a bit.

How do some of you annual upgraders get down to a net upgrade cost of $2-300? I’m upgrading from a 14PM 256 gb to 16PM 256gb and my net cost is $1,291CAD / $950 USD including tax and the trade in value of my 14PM. Even if I was upgrading from a 15PM I’d still be looking at a $600-650 USD upgrade cost at the very least. $2-300 seems impossible unless you’re getting absolute top dollar for your old phone and an employee discount on a new phone.
You’re not getting a net upgrade cost down to $200-$300 unless you either find a sucker who’s willing to pay over top dollar for your iPhone, find some way to bypass paying taxes, or can use your iPhone as a tax write off.

There's no compelling reason for me to upgrade my year-old 15Pro (100% battery) to a 16. That said, if the new modems are really better on the 16, I'd *maybe* consider it provided it improves my ATT coverage both outdoors and indoors here in DC/VA/MD.

For me it's a combination of the better thermals/cooling, bigger battery, nearly M1 level processor (based on early Geekbench results), larger display and wanting a new color (upgrading from white 15PM to a natural 16PM).

Because I want to upgrade from a Plus to the Pro Max this year.

Much like others, because I can. I sell my year old model for as much as can get (usually a recycle company), I lock in the price as soon as Ive ordered the new one or in the past have passed it down the family chain. My iPhone is a huge part of my work life, my camera, my music, in combination with my AW it’s my fitness tracker, I consume news, read books, my communication tool wi th my family worldwide and many more things. Why shouldn’t I have the best I can get for a reasonable annual cost.

I upgrade based on the differences between models. This year was a much bigger upgrade than going from the 14 pro to the 15 pro. Titanium was the big upgrade last year and usb c. Big deal. 😒

This year we are getting a partially redesigned phone with a bigger screen. The 6.3 size did it for me this year. Perfect size, still use it one handed.
