Actually, Lacero brought it up w/ Arn a few posts/pages ago-- s/he asked that that 'sneaky' time frame of change window be expanded from 2 to 5 minutes.
Yes, indeed it was I. Didn't anybody else find the 3 minute limit, limiting? Now I'm not in a rush to find the right links to my posts without bringing up the edit footnote. That drove me crazy all the time! :p

What's this talk of being 'sneaky'. Perhaps it is you who is sneaky for why else would you think that?

The reasoning for the above mistake is due to the extra...

I'm probably wrong but I think the reason the quote wasn't working was because you mixed capitals and lower case quote tags. Also, the italics didn't work because of your open [QUOTE=blahblahblah at the start which was trying to finish with the second square bracket in the first italics tag.

Not wrong, you are spot on actually. I went back and simply added a bracket set and it was fine. Silly little stuff, had me paranoid thinking MR had turned against me to confuse and frustrate me. First the members with their fast-swapping 'tars and then the system not allowing me access to bold/italic/underlined text. Anyway, problem solved.

i don't know if i missed this or not... but i haven't had a chance to read the whole thread....

No way! Really? I can't justify starting a thread just to try it... hehehe.

I've seen forums that have special "testing" sections..which are basically complete wastelands that don't have content, just a place to practice posting and see if things like this actually work without bothering anyone...really a pretty cool thing. :)

vBulletin 3.5.1 came out today as it addresses security holes in both IE and PHP, not holes in the vBulletin software itself.

I will be upgrading my site when i get home, or the person that runs my forum will do that. Its nice having staff for different aspects of the site.

Yes, thank you. That bothered me too, but I didn't realize it could be changed. Sometimes I'm on my PC at work or something, and catch a spelling error, and want to change it. That "edited by" always bugged me.

Any way to fix that issue when you try to search by user? I used to be able to just click on the space and it would bring a box down with my username in it. Now I have to start typing it first, and it brings down a list of everyone that starts with S, then So, and so on. I've just started using the User CP, but I liked doing the search. The only way I got it working was with Always Remember Password in FireFox, but then I can't get into some secure sites like my bank. Not a big deal, just too lazy to type sometimes. :p

Another new feature of VB 3.5 if you haven't already noticed...

You can now use the formatting and link buttons in the advanced editor while the page is still loading.

Cool, this just keeps getting better and better!

Man, this forum is so good. I havn't noticed a single bug or anything. If I was nit picking though, the one thing I would say is, it doesn't have that feature where when you hover the mouse over a thread it gives the first few lines of the thread.

But other than that it's top notch.

I find that feature really annoying.

Maybe its better in less mature forums when you get a load of noobs posting threads with misleading titles.

Oh, one more thing. The forum could use a few more smilies maybe.

...Hmmm... aren't the style tags meant to wrap themselves around a word instead of just placing a set of adjacent tags that are empty to the right of the cursor, or in some cases irritatingly at the end of the text?

Which makes a multiple format like this an awkward process of cutting and pasting tags...
...
Am I being slow or has this recently been fixed?

That just mean your search session has expired, and it no longer knows what you were searching for.

Try opening the thread you want to read in a new tab or window, then you will not get that error.

The same thing will happen if you search for new posts in one window, search for new posts in another window, and then refresh the first window.

The data gets thrown out of your browser, and it no longer understand the non-existant search terms.

Notice on unread posts...

Okay, this is the first time I've seen this, perhaps because I haven't been navigating to the last page in my "New Posts" search lately, but just thought it was interesting. How long has this been a feature?

haha... I posted a screen shot of this awhile back. Dunno how to find that post now, though. :p

:edit: Just for you... :D My old post showing that feature, here.

Huh, only 4 1/2 months behind on the new stuff. Sounds about right.
