Well, it seems to be working fine now...must have been a temporary cookie glitch.
I think I solved it at least at my end, The remember me button was unchecked.

Ok I don't know if this is from what happened last night but every time I get into the site the auto password feature isn't working and I have to reenter my user name and password.

We've been doing some backend things to try to address some issues.

The login/not remembering problem should be fixed. Let me know if it keeps happening. Note, it may happen once more, since we've changed some of the cookie settings. Beyond that it should work ok.

Thanks for the update arn - it's working fine for me now.

btw,

The Private Message Return Receipt problem is fixed. Where it asked you 8 times to OK the return receipt.

Another interesting thing. When viewing "New Posts" (yes, I hadn't logged in since this morning...) I see 16 pages from the search. No sweat. What's weird is that it is displaying differently (see below).

And it doesn't always do this. Sometimes it's in order, sometimes not, sometimes with more pages in the list than others.

I've discovered something else that's pretty nice. Do an 'Advanced Search' on a poster's name... :)
That's nice and all, but I used to be able just to just click on it and it would bring up a list of the names I had previously typed in. Now I click, and nothing happens until I start typing. I can use Always Remember Password in FireFox, but that doesn't play nice with my bank's site. Any way to fix that and still keep it like a spotlight search?

Other than that, I love the new stuff. Haven't had any other issues.

I still get logged out even if I go to another page. Reset Safari and it still does it. All security and other settings are correct.

Strange... this log out business. How come it's only impacting some members and it seems to 'operate' separate from the browser?

I'm running 10.4.2, Safari 2.0.1 and haven't experienced this yet. I mean, I'm glad I don't have this problem but it seems so odd.

Sorry if this has been mentioned previously.

Just edit the link text manually before Submitting. It should be automatically selected after you've made a link. Or, if you're not using Safari(?), make the link text first, select it and press the Insert Link button.

I'm not sure I understand your answer. I know I can fix the links manually, but I'm wondering why this doesn't work automatically, the way it did before.

it seems that there has been a change to that section of the vbulletin_editor.js file in the scripts folder, it should be easy to fix however find the change and revert it back.

I am probably going to revert that one part back on my site

Ah. That's just how it work in the new vB version. It's not a bug or anything. Personally, I prefer the new way better.

I think the old way was easier, it doesn't really matter, but if I had a choice I would pick the way it was before.

Maybe I'm missing something, but as nearly as I can tell, the new way doesn't work at all. The link text has to be edited manually within the tag. Not sure how anyone could call that an improvement.

Yes, I haven't found any other way to do this either. It's a manual thing, but doesn't require too much effort I guess. It's more the principle of the thing, since it was something that didn't need to be done before. Ah well, a minor detail in the grand scheme of things...

Sorry, I should be more clear.
With the old way, first it would as you what text you wanted to appear, and next it would as for the url.
With the new way, if just asks you the url, and creates the tag so that url will show in the text. It is possible to alter that manually, a bit of a pain, but it can be done.

I guess I can live with it too -- got no choice. But as ~Shard~ said, it wasn't broken so it didn't need to be fixed. Ah well, at least I know I'm not doing something wrong.

I agree it is rather inconvenient to insert a link manually now but the inline editing does make up for the shortcoming. It is superb; the best I've seen in any forum. I love this forum :)

Seems a shame that the latest release of Safari has this issues when IE has handle it better since before Safari's release.

Yeah, exactly, we're not doing anything wrong. ;) It's a little more time consuming, but I'm sure everyone will get used to it....

This is in no way meant to sound holier-than-thou or anything, but I'm quite surprised to hear that people actually use those buttons atop the text input window :p
I find it much faster to write the post if I have the url copied (for images) and simply type
