you behind some sort of proxy which is caching?

Not to my knowledge, but that's the only explanation I can think of. It shouldn't be caching dynamic pages though, surely?

Safari 2.0.1, so it should work

Just emptied the cache for the third time, and it's still not working. It seems that the "toolbars" and smilies aren't clickable either. Something strange is going on here!

Edit: I'm in Camino 0.8.4 now, and it's not working either.

I had exactly the same problems, so perhaps it's a New Zealand specific issue. This is not the first time I've had a problem like this, it happens every time I update my website too. I managed to fix it by:

  1. Finding the URLs of js and css files for the forums in Safari's activity window. These include:
    https://forums.macrumors.com/clientscript/vbulletin_editor.css
    https://forums.macrumors.com/clientscript/vbulletin_global.js
    https://forums.macrumors.com/clientscript/vbulletin_menu.js
    https://forums.macrumors.com/clientscript/vbulletin_textedit.js
    https://forums.macrumors.com/clientscript/vbulletin_attachment.js
  2. Opening these URLs in IE  and refreshing them there (for some reason, a refresh works in IE but not Safari).
  3. Opening the URLs again in Safari.
  4. Emptying Safari's cache again.

Then, finally, the new features worked.

You need to log in to check the PM, so a lot of people would miss it. Plus it'd put a big strain on the email system.

Now don't you go trying to apply logic to me.:) I guess that does make sense.. I jsut wish I had known ahead of time so I could have planned on something else to do.. Yes I am pathetic with no life.

Who's your ISP?

I'll try your suggestion in a minute.

Edit: Aha! That did it :D
I used Camino instead of IE, seemed to work fine.

Is the arrow thingies
thread_dot_hot_new.gif
new? I don't seem to remember seeing them before... I'm constantly confused them with the locked-thread icon. Maybe I'm just tired.

Also, is the "You have X post(s in this thread, last Whenever" thread icon tooltip new? I don't remember that one either.

Paradise.

Same here. I suppose they must be caching things somewhere down the line. However, I don't understand why IE and Camino can reload the pages, but Safari can't

I noticed those new arrows on the folders too. Anyone know what they mean?

I love the changes, they're awesome! :D

Is there a chance we could get a bit of warning prior to downtime though, if possible (and assuming we don't already  )? I just thought I'd done something bad because I kept getting asked for a password. :(

What a nice little surprise to wake up to...

Let's try out some of these options.

Hmmm... aren't the style tags meant to wrap themselves around a word instead of just placing a set of adjacent tags that are empty to the right of the cursor, or in some cases irritatingly at the end of the text?

Which makes a multiple format like this an awkward process of cutting and pasting tags...

Am I driving this thing correctly?

Edit: Just noticed. This now makes using the 'Quote' tag extremely annoying too.

I love the new feature where you can type in what page you want to go to in a thread. Very useful.

And I'm just posting this to see whats so exciting about editing it.

EDIT: Wow that's so cool!

I see little tiny things for a change, but I don't know what the frick you are guys are talking about. yes, I cleared my cache.

Has anyone else noticed that when you click on a smiley (in Safari) on the right hand side of a post, the Pre-Smiley-Space™ is no longer there.

In other words, before when I clicked on a smiley, I would get a space and then the eyes whereas now the thing leaps straight into the eyes, no questions asked.

Try HexMonkey's suggestion, it fixed it for me. You can use Camino (and probably Firefox) instead of IE.
