Try HexMonkey's suggestion, it fixed it for me. You can use Camino (and probably Firefox) instead of IE.
I'm on Safari.

I basically shut Safari down and restarted and noticed.

HOLY SH*T... COOL!!!!!!! :D

Is it possible to have the quick reply box turned on now? Seeing as on vB3.5, this has a great new features: when you click "Post Reply", it doens't reload the thread page - your post magically appears on the bottom.

Surely this would cut server load a bit? I do realise it could be potential for spamming.

vB3.5 has just been installed on a forum I help moderate (the new mod tools are great :D : merge posts within a thread, merge posts from many threads into one thread, split posts into another thread, close threads without having to open them, likewise with changing thread titles...), and the admin there finally decided to turn quick reply on. There hasn't been any increase in spam since that happened.

I like the new Reply section. We still need more emoticons.

What else is new in the version?
Oh I like this. It's new right? It's going to make for some ugly thread though.

The edit window's good too.

What a nice little surprise to wake up to...

Let's try out some of these options.

Hmmm... aren't the style tags meant to wrap themselves around a word instead of just placing a set of adjacent tags that are empty to the right of the cursor, or in some cases irritatingly at the end of the text?

Which makes a multiple format like this an awkward process of cutting and pasting tags...

Am I driving this thing correctly?

Edit: Just noticed. This now makes using the 'Quote' tag extremely annoying too.
I think I know what you mean. You highlight some text and then click the 'B' button and it would add the tags before and after to bold the selected text.
This has always worked in IE for windows for me but it's never worked in Safari.
In Safari it's always just opened a dialogue window to type the text you want bold into, which is annoying if you're trying to bold text within a quote say, and then when you enter the dialogue it appends to the end of your post.
Apart from Safari's built in dictionary this sites always been nicer to use from Windows IE than Safari, is this about to change?....doesn't appear so :(

Interesting. Good to hear that all the fun isn't just restricted to the rank and file... anything which must make a mods life easier means a better forum.

Good stuff.

In-line post editing is going to make life much easier, and the multiple post delete is sure to be a firm favourite very quickly...:D

It's just missing one little thing ;)

(yes, it's an awful PS job, but I just got up, and that's as good as it's gonna get!)

It will be popular but the most sought after new feature - the one that will make posters vanish with a single click - should be introduced in VB 4.0. Stay tuned. :)

What's that computer icon next to the report bad post icon? I'm just guessing it's your mod powers.

Ha, yeah, if you edit a post already in the in-line edit mode with a quote it's easy to post an edited copy of the original post....

...well, it is if your a dumb mod anyway...

ho hum.:D

Yes it enables us unrestricted access to any members hard drives, cd-collections and girlfriends...

That's why being a mod on MR is soooo cool.

Nice pr0n collection BTW...:D

Aah... after emptying the cache (had to do it twice for some reason) all the little buttons started working. :) Took me a while to realize thei didn't work as I often just type the [tags] myself...

Hmmm.. still inserts all tags at the end of the message in Safari, and not where the cursor is set or around the marked text, like it did in Firefox... :(

Edit: Love the new edit... :D

Aahh.. so that's a Safari thing. Not a VB problem, then?

Maybe I should get Firefox since I spend so much time here -- wastrel that I am. :)

Wastrel

1. One who wastes, especially one who wastes money; a profligate. 2. An idler or a loafer.

In other words... a slacker, dude.

:p

Wastrel (archaic): a waif.

Apologies for the bad play on words.
