I don't get why a lot of people are crying about this years iPhone and being so negative. Just take what you can get this year, wait till next year, or this this years iPhone then trade it in for next year's iPhone.

Just remember, its just a smartphone.

Come to think of it... I've been defendant of the idea that the 10th Anniversary iPhone will be a rebranded phone: Apple Phone (with the apple symbol before the phone).
Think of it:
Previous era of Apple Products (aka.: iDevices) AND services (such as iCloud):
iPod
iPhone
iPad
iCloud
iMac
iBooks
iTunes
iWork

New generation of Apple products:
Apple Music (Music)
Apple Watch
Apple TV
Apple Macbook (they DO use the Apple symbol before the new Macbook name, although they don't write it)
Apple Pay

So... Given that (1st) there are researches that show a bad response to the "i" names by newer generations and (2nd) the brands with "i" in front of the name have been under attack in patent challenges in China, it would seem feasible to me that they could have an all-new branded Apple Phone (of course, with the minimalistic symbol before the Phone, which further reinforces their control over the trademarked phone name).

I actually really liked the 4/4s series in almost all ways possible, minus size. Obviously can't speak for internal specs but if they externally make an Oder iPhone 4s I'd be a pretty happy camper.

I never had any problem with my 3 ... NONE ... the ONLY reason I upgraded to an IPP this year was because 1) it was time and 2) doing a lot of research these days and the split-screen has become invaluable along with the need for more storage.

So technically you DID have a problem with your iPad 3 – two in fact. 1 because it was old, and 2 because it didn't do split screen.

Incredible how so many let a company charge them premium prices for stone age tech like a 1080P or worse, 720P LCD screen. Can't ever imagine letting a company rip me off with premium prices for a product that clearly is not giving me premium hardware. What's even worse, these same people will repeat the same BS reason the company spews out of their greedy mouth, for not giving you the much more advance and superior hardware. Absolutely incredible. Smh.

When I buy Apple products, I'm mostly in it for the software and services. That's what Apple are selling and that's where they're unrivalled. You can fill a phone full of the latest cutting edge technology and hardware, but that won't make it useful.

This is actually starting to sound like a pretty good phone! Finally some features to get excited about. Especially when they come out on stage and announce "And yes, we brought back the headphone jack!" to a roaring applause. Sales go through the roof.

iPhone 4 2.0? I will say, iPhone 4 was my first iphone and honestly, it has been my favorite so far.

Same here. I loved the smooth feel of the glass.

My iPhone 6 is working flawlessly, looks I might be waiting another year. Damn you rumors!

"with glass being the most likely candidate"

....and the most breakable... :)

Didn't Apple switch from glass ages ago ? because it was lighter?

They keep switching back and fourth....back and fourth,,

I think the 7 will surprise all of us. Many who are holding out to upgrade in 2017, including myself, will be tempted with the 7.

Somebody's got to say it ... there's not much people can say about what Steve Jobs might do if he were alive, but I'm pretty sure referring to a "10th Anniversary iPhone" would make him spin in his grave.

So will I have to buy a new phone if I drop it?

Most likely. If there's a 50% chance of breaking the glass on an iPhone with glass on one side, then there's a 100% chance of breaking some glass on a phone with glass on two sides. And an absolute certainty some glass is going to break somewhere if the entire surface is glass on all sides.

In the end kind of pointless since a case will be manditory. Maybe Appe will release a co-branded iPhone | Hermes model ...

Why? Was he decaphobic?

We don't know what Apple will call the 2017 iPhone. We don't even know what they will call the iPhone they're introducing next month. Whether Apple calls next year's model the "10th Anniversary iPhone" or something else, it will still be the tenth anniversary iPhone, so that's a convenient way to to talk about it.

It will also have a floppy disk drive and a 30-pin connector. Everyone knows the truth of these three predictions.
