Even more pricier than the 5S? Hopefully not for 16gb of memory, because I'm not sure many people will buy it..

new products :) i bet you anything people will buy these...

They have to because they have to buy *new products* I do like these phones, but apart from the larger screen which, to me, is too big, i'm happy with my 5s.

There is a limit of screen size how far i'd go... Unfortunately, most don't feel that way.... Apple feeds their users and most just take it.

Then we get angry because we "jumped on board" without ironing everything out first..

I'd actually like to see the leather pouches for these.... They'd be huge... and way down my pants ..

iPhone 6 4.7" will cost the same as the iPhone 5S.
iPhone 6 5.5" will cost $100 more than the iPhone 5S.

Think of it how the iPad Air costs $100 more than the iPad Mini with Retina. If you want a larger screen, it will cost $100 more.
More than likely they will stick to 16gb, but 32gb would be wonderful.

The RAZR was my favourite phone ever before I went touchscreen, but to suggest that just because it was capable of the same tasks, it is equivalent (or superior) to modern smartphones is disingenuous at best.

If you returned now to your RAZR you'd find the UX clunky, slow and grainy looking. A product of its time. I still have mine and will keep it for posterity but I'm not naive enough to think its something I could ever go back to.

If all you do is the basics you list above, you don't need an iPhone. Pick up some low-end android phone and enjoy your long battery life.

I know what you mean, but I'm trying in a very roundabout way to make a point, which I'll just state very clearly now:

I think to a very large degree, bigness of phone is almost purely a fashion trend, and has very very little to do with the usability and functionality of the device.

I think the fashion trend could have easily have gone the other way, and someday may still go the other way.

For instance, if there was a iPhone 7 that was super teeny, like 1/3rd the size of the iP5s, but somehow managed to have an interface that was just as functional as the current iPhone 5s, would it be a big seller? Is that going to be the iWatch? We'll see I guess.

But I'd love to have something the size of my RAZR flip phone that could just disappear into whatever I'm wearing and be totally and completely unnoticeable again. That was the beauty of the RAZR.

There has got to be something MORE to the 5.5" model, if it exists, than just screen size.

You can't charge $100 extra just for a larger screen with exactly the same specs. Well you can, but it would seem stretching things a bit.

Perhaps the larger model will have something else. Higher screen res, better camera, there has to be something else than just screen size.

Question - Would a 5.5" model lead to you selling your iPad? For me it would! I have an iPad simply because my iPhone screen is too small for consistent use around the house when I'm not at my desk on my 27-inch iMac.

A 5.5" iPhone would be a different experience and would probably allow me to just have an iMac+iPhone with no iPad in between. Doubt Apple would like that though.

There was a report that they were going to start production in May. Why has everyone suddenly forgotten and now they are producing in July?

Again, not news.

Anyway, I hope we can pre-order this year. With the 5s we either had to order it on release day or jump in a queue!

Why would anyone care about this? Everybody knows that the new model is coming in September no matter what.

Have there been any leaks of 5.5" phone components?

Yes. It will have 5.5" screen ;)

A wrist strap?

Can't wait for the first Android fanboy comment about how Apple is catching up with Android. I can't stop laughing at idiotic comments like that.

Last year at this time I thought that a larger screen was all that was needed to make me flip from Android but after having the iPhone 5S for a few weeks I was so wrong. I’m looking to see what Apple does with iOS more than the screen size. I felt so handcuffed when using iOS and iTunes it drove me back to Android. The limitations of iOS and being tied to iTunes made me go crazy. I actually liked the smaller screen size LOL.

I have a iPhone, a MacBook Air, and a random Android tablet... what is it, oh it's a Nexus 7.

I find between the iPhone 5s and the MacBook Air, I just really don't use the tablet size form factor any more. It's worn off. Anything I could do on the tablet I can do almost as easily on the 4 inch screen. The big screen thing has worn off for me. The tablet thing has worn off for me too. I'm finding it was just all about fashion and newness really, that's why I bought the tablet. I'm burnt out on it now. I just don't care for it any longer.

I thought for a while I'd like a larger phone screen, but as time goes on, I'm much happier with a smaller phone that just slips into my pocket and is least noticeable.

I'm starting to think I really won't buy a larger iPhone.

I could see myself buying a newer iPhone for better specs, like 128MB or more of on board storage, or an SD card slot - but not for a bigger screen.

I'm actually starting to want a *smaller* phone than the 5s, something maybe 4S size but with iPod Touch slimness and 256Mb storage and bezel free screen would be amazing.

Why is it idiotic when its true? Heck, even blackberry has a bigger screen than iphone. Now go back and drink some more of that apple koolaide.

And in what place is using inferior (true PPI, not pentile crap, color accuracy, white levels, brightness) but bigger displays for years and years to have an excuse for a huge battery being "ahead"?

Only now are displays close to the quality of the one used on the iPhone. Only now is samsung's AMOLEDs worthy of being on an high end device.

Apple will have apps that take advantage of that screen, that most likely will be of an higher quality than everything out there.

I thought about going for the bigger 5.5" iPhone, however having seen how big a phone of that size can be I'll probably be going with the 4.7" iPhone 6.

How about the new iPad mini coming with a phone option?

+1 on this. I frequently have the same sentiments. I'm going to see if Apple lifts some of their arbitrary restrictions in iOS 8. If I still can't get at least a swype keyboard and a graphic EQuqlizer for all sound, I think I'm just going to get a MotoX - or maybe the new model of the MotoG with SD card slot. They're going for pretty cheap now and can do everything without restriction. It's been a fun time with iOS over the last 8 months, and the iPhone hardware quality is definitely excellent - perhaps the best there is really, but I'm weary of being in jail.
