Everything looks good except one thing: The (still) huge bezels are very disappointing for 2014, if the mock up is represents what it will look like. I hope it's not.

I think my IPhone 5 is already somewhat too tall. With smaller bezels, the iPhone 6 could be a little wider but not really any taller.

I also hope they improved the battery life a lot.

Ready for the 5.5". Just make sure with the extra space we get some more RAM and flash memory. I'd like 2gb of RAM and 128gb flash storage, please. So I can finally stop carrying both a phone and an iPod.

Wonder if they could do split screen on the 5.5" like the rumors are saying with the new Air.

I think 4.7" for a phone is perfect. My wife's Moto X fits perfectly in my hand and all corners are easy to reach with my thumb. While I like my Nexus 5, Google pushing out random updates (that I sure didn't see) that cause my battery life to drop 80% faster than normal is irritating. I just hope Apple sees the need for a better keyboard (something swype like).

Looks like i'll be back to iOS again.
This is a render of the rumored 6 next to the X. Obviously if the rumors are wrong this doesn't mean much, but it gives an idea of how things could compare

My guess is they will announce both at the same time but with different release dates.

Most logical choice. A lot of people will be pissed when they will announce a bigger size phone a couple of months later. I know I would, I'm interested in the 5.5 inch phone.

UGH, so tall. So much bezel on the top/bottom. I realize they need space for the home button/fingerprint sensor... but still.

It'll be nice when Apple comes around to integrating the fingerprint sensor directly on the screen. Another good reason to eventually move to Sapphire. That'll get rid of the need of such large bezels.

i hope the 4.7 has the same internal specs as the 5.5 (like the latest iPad mini and Air). I want top end but not that big.

And in what place is using inferior (true PPI, not pentile crap, color accuracy, white levels, brightness) but bigger displays for years and years to have an excuse for a huge battery being "ahead"?

Only now are displays close to the quality of the one used on the iPhone. Only now is samsung's AMOLEDs worthy of being on an high end device.

Apple will have apps that take advantage of that screen, that most likely will be of an higher quality than everything out there.

You've obviously never seen a HTC one m7/m8.. take your pic.. stunning screen.. top notch every thing.. take the "retina" display.. add 50% more pixels per inch.. with awesome natural colours .. top top quality display..

I see that you have an iPad Air (based on your signature).
Check this out... you may re-think getting rid of your iPad Air.

That's pretty cool, and yes the iPad Air would still be considerably bigger than a 5.5" iPhone (although the 4:3 aspect ratio loses almost full inch for 16:9 video diagonally).

That said, would the added size of the Air relative to the 5.5" iPhone be worth the added cost of an iPad and the effort to maintain 2 devices that do largely the same thing? I'm not so sure and I bet that's been debated in Cupertino for some time now.

People who put their iPhones in their skinny jeans won't like the 4.7" iPhone 6.

Working with interaction design and user-experience for both iOS and Android I have been using Google Nexus 5 (5") for some time. Avid iPhone user since 2007 I must say that it is not all that bad. Software is ok, it is quick and utilizing 4G which makes downloading apps, web pages etc really fast. However - after using it for a month now I start to feel that it is a tad too big. Not too heavy but rather a big flat brick in my hand. Similar to iPad mini. After longing for Apple to catch up on screen size I start to re-evaluate the need of having a larger phone. Thus - I would seriously recommend apple to keep 4" and ad 4,7" and maybe a 5.5" to the mixl. Leaving out a 4" would be a bad decision i would say.

And - again - mature market equals differentiation. So Apple - copy the winning formula that you have for most other product lines - choice of size etc.

The only thing I hope is that it's not as ugly as all these renderings suggest.

The iPhone 4 and 5 are works of art...this thing, meh,

Eh, i'll be buying the smallest one. Do we really need russian nesting dolls of the iPhone all the way up to iPad?

When the times comes and my eyes have gone completely geriatric, then maybe i'd consider one size up (I can't believe these whiney comments that the text is too small, you can change the text size already). But come on, I don't carry a purse (or man purse) around... this goes in my pocket, and I have no interest in buying early 90s skateboard shorts with one foot square pockets.

I've never cracked or scratched a iPhone screen (out of 4), but for some reason I feel like these bigger screens are going to be a nightmare for pocket cracking.

Agreed. Terribly ugly in comparison. And really generic in comparison as well.

You're being too "on the nose" when people refer to Android these days it's "Android Phones" not Android the software. Don't be a d, you do know what they mean. :p

Yeah, but THEY don't. They say the same thing about NFC. They honestly think that Android was the first ever device in the history of the world to have NFC. And again, the rumors of the iPhone 6 having NFC means the Android fanboys just say Apple is catching up with Android. But not all handsets that have Android also have NFC.

Note 4 vs LG G3 vs iPhone 6 5,5" : that is the shortlist I have to choose one from.

Iphone is rumoured to be extremely thin which is worrying battery wise esp. facing other two at 3000mAh+. Better management to expect from iOS 8.0 could make a difference?
Storage speaking, 128 GB is a must if there is a premium on 5,5" model

the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 model have suggested that it may arrive as a premium model in lower quantities with perhaps exclusive features such as a sapphire crystal display

why this discrimination ?? why not apply the same idea such ipad line up?
i want a sapphire display but i dont want a 5.5" iPhone

Yeah, disgusting if true. Why should I be forced into a honking big ass screen if I want top tier features?

Tim Cook is horrible.
