It was almost getting absurd. We posted a link to BeGeek who posted some new images of the leaked 4th Generation iPhone. As it turns out, they simply obtained those images from the Vietnamese leak on Taoviet.vn.

That means there were still "just" three leaked 4th generation iPhones that we are aware of: Gizmodo's, Taoviet's, and an early Twitter leak.

Interesting to note is that these three devices are distinct. The Gizmodo model was labeled "DVT", the Taoviet model "PRO2", while the original Twitter leaked model is labeled "EVT1". All these models are presumably from different stages of development.

I hope the guys start trying to dump the rom or something. Would be awesome to have it jailbroken before it is released :D.

Yeah, we know what it looks like now. Enough with it, just launch it already.

What do you think the seam is for?

Shock resistance when dropped? I mean with front and back glass, it would be a bit of a bummer to drop it.

EVT = Engineering Validation Test
DVT = Design Validation Test
PRO = something related to production, I assume

These prototypes have popped up in what seems to be an appropriate order. It's my understanding that EVT comes after DVT, but it's possible they are tested simultaneously. PRO is something I haven't run across before, but I would assume it's a pre-production version as opposed to a full-on prototype. They're probably ramping up production now to meet demand and one of these slipped out.

I can see steve come out, "one more thing" this is the new iphone, haha not the ones online, oh that would be just to cool. :rolleyes: Mass hysteria with fanboy ripping their hair out.

OMG ffs people... the lines are there to stay, deal with it and move on. Don't like em, get a different phone, problem solved.

I doubt that the seam would really improve shock resistance. The most plausible explanation that I've read is that the seam is a vent and allows some of the heat to dissipate.

The iPad has some heavily discussed issues concerning heat-related shutdowns.

I've dropped my iPod touch a number of times before I got a case (it's a slippery little critter), but nothing more than a couple of scratches in the metal. It's still a pretty durable design.

hahaha how come I have a feeling that:

Steve: Since you guys took our prototypes, I'm not going to announce any new iPhone this conference.

That's a huge twist lol
not going to happen though, coz Android is catching up....

but still.... Steve must be mad...

Android is no longer "catching up". They are giving away so many they are surpassing the iPhone.
