When you bring it to the store and they replace the screen is all of your data safe? Do they upgrade you to the latest iOS? I know they do his if you send it in but maybe they don't if they are just replacing the screen? My nearest Apple Store is 130 miles away! Might be worth the trip if I can preserve iOS 8.4.1 in a few months! :)

I've had the exact same problem with my iPhone 6, it was a flawed early batch of iPhones, mostly people who bought on the first week. I've had it fixed in July, the genius spotted the problem and gave me a brand new phone. I had everything synced back with iCloud and haven't had a problem since. Hope all works out for you as well as it did for me :D

Didn't know this problem existed until I saw this thread! Checked my phone and it does indeed have a shifted camera. My warranty will be up but have managed to make an appointment for a couple of days after so don't anticipate a problem.

I don't think it's limited to the first batch of phones. I'm pretty sure it's widespread and is still happening with the new ones. Just look around this forum it's everywhere! Maybe they figured out how to secure it better in the 6S? I'll probably wait till my warranty is almost up and get a replacement then sell it and try to get a good deal on a 6S I'm thinking.

Maybe it's not limited to the early batches, but that's what the Genius told me. Most of us are probably first-weekers. Would be interesting to find someone who bought at a later date and had the issue. And that's exactly what I did, I noticed on the first day it happened, but waited till the battery was ****** to replace my phone, now i'm gonna sell a practically new iPhone 6 and buy a 6S :)

yes all is safe, they do ask you if you backed it all up "just in case" something goes wrong, but otherwise they tell you to turn find my iphone "off" and remove all your fingerprints and either remove you password or tell then your password to unlock

bet you wish you never saw this thread :-/

Just wanted to add that I took my iPhone 6 to the Apple Store in Glasgow this morning with a very (very) minor case of camera misalignment and they replaced the display without hesitation. In fact I was a bit apologetic for complaining about what was a very minor cosmetic defect but I said I was concerned that it would only get worse and by then the warranty would have expired. The genius told me not to be silly and had the screen replaced there and then. I went away and had some lunch and picked it up a couple of hours later. As others have said, I just had to disable find my iPhone and either tell them the passcode or disable it. They asked if it was backed up but that was only a precaution.

The warranty on my 6 expires next month. I am going to wait till the last few days to get the repair done to delay the likely event that the camera moves once again. I am worried that this issue will return, I cannot get Apple care at this point. And I am not going to replace the phone, its been great and I plan on keeping it for another year. Thoughts?

not a first batch, i got a new iphone 6 on July 30 of this year and my camera is completely out of place - crazy crescent like halfway dislocated. not gonna bother with apple store since i preordered the 6S.

I just noticed this on mine too, I guess when I saw it before, I assumed it was the angle at which I was looking at it, or I just didn't notice it. That sucks. My iphone6 is getting traded for a 6s+ pretty soon anyway, but I wonder if the folks Tmobile use for JUMP trades will flag that as damage? I'd hope not.

As I said earlier in this thread, I've been through a display swap, & 2 device swaps & it still moved on my current device. Obviously it's still not fixed.

I'd also like to add that if you have a screen protector on when they replace your display or device, mention it to them & they'll give you a new one of them too. I gotta hand it to Apple, their warranty & customer services are second to none.

Yep, I had been living with the crescent moon issue on my launch day iPhone and deliberately waited until last Thursday before getting it fixed in hope that they'd find a permanent solution. It doesn't look like they've found a solution for this issue so it'll be my buyer's problem down the line after I get the 6s.

Perhaps a teardown of the 6s and 6s+ might uncover a silent fix for this recurring issue.

Getting mine replaced for the third time. Great timing because I'll have a brand new screen for when I sell my 6 for my 6S in a few days!

But they did fix it. They made the 6s & 6s+:D

Crescent Gate is very common on the iPhone 6. Apple will only replace the screen and not the entire handset.

"Crescent Gate" isn't a thing, and it sounds ignorant.

I bought mine in late October last year, and it has the issue.

As others have said, some have had their phones/screens replaced 2-3x b/c the issue is reoccurring, so that would also indicate that it's not just a "first batch" issue.

My 1-year warranty expires on 10/03, so I'm taking mine in today. The crescent has been there for some time, but I dropped by phone the other day and spider-webbed the screen. I hope it'll still be replaced by Apple on the basis of the shifted camera pad, but if not, I'll just bite the bullet for the $110, I suppose.

I took my phone to Beijing apple today since its sim free. They replaced the screen. It'll come back in 2 weeks I bet. :(

I have this problem as well. The joke is, my iPhone 6 was an original run purchased that September. The crescent shift did not materialize, what happened instead was tiny specks of dust appeared between the camera lens and the glass. I ignored it for a while and then happened to ask about it while i was in the Apple store. The concierge told me that it should be fixed and she made a genius appointment for me on the spot. The tech checked it out and said they would replace the display. When we told me how long it would take, i balked a bit since i was paying for parking by the hour. When i i hesitated, he said, "you know what, i know you're a good customer, so i'll just replace that for you right now."
So that was very nice of him. And then my replacement phone almost immediately 'crescented' It's getting worse, too. It is almost 1/3 of the way over now.

Unfortunately, its a design flaw. No matter how many times it will get fixed, it rehappens. I just got it fixed again so I could sell it without the issue.
