I just stumbled onto this thread and noticed that my front camera on my iPhone 6 has shifted ever so slightly to the left. There is a gray-ish crescent shape on the right side of my camera. Anyone who's gone to a Genius Bar with this issue - Should I expect them to replace the phone?
I am in the same boat. I would also like to know if Apple will replace this phone?

Under limited warranty, you should have the screen replaced at minimum; I received a replacement phone not just for the camera, but a bent phone somehow.

Interestingly enough I just took a look at my coworker's phone that he got just a few weeks ago, and his camera is also slightly shifted. It is less severe than my own, but I am very surprised. It doesn't seem to affect the functionality of either of our phones, but I would be worried that with time it might.

It's really widespread. I've only seen and had one that had the camera correctly placed and it's really neat looking as the camera shows like a laser blue glow when looking at it directly. I've looked at some YouTube videos recently and I haven't seen one without the crescent yet either! Mine is going back (again for the 5th time!!) a couple weeks before the warranty goes out!

Yeah. My replacement has the laser blue/dark blue hue over it, which is a striking contrast to the previous phone. Fingers crossed it stays this way!

I'm fairly certain that's already been addressed in the thread. Did you not read it?

I did not read the entire thread, no. I was just hoping to get a few quick answers, but I have gathered that it seems I could probably get it replaced without too much of an issue.

Cheers. That's indeed the same conclusion I had reached. Congratulations on your skimming and inferential skills. I wish you well.

Every picture I see has the camera shifted to the left. Mine is shifted to the right toward the ear piece.

I've got an appt tomorrow at noon.

They replaced mine without even batting an eye. The girl helping me made it sound like this is regular swap to them no questions asked. She did upgrade me to 8.4.1 though and now they stopped signing 8.4 ouch

That's odd, they didn't update my phone from 8.4 to 8.4.1. But yeah they seemed like this was a regular swap as well with zero questions asked. So far the replacement screen has not shifted the camera.

I've just set up appointments for both mine and my gf's phone. Front facing camera has shifted on both, mine a little more than hers. Warranty is up in just under a month so a good time to do it I suppose!

Anyone in the UK had this problem and how good were the Apple guys at swapping it over? Do you get a brand new phone or a refurb?

Noticed this problem on mine a few weeks ago... iPhone lives it's life in a case and has never been dropped etc. Front facing camera still works surprisingly??

Trying to book a genius appointment is a nightmare though, Apple Store is an hours drive away and they never have any appointments on days I am off work. Next available appointments today were for a weeks time! Crazy...

Holy ****, I thought mine was bad. How is that lens still able to see?!

I've a genius bar appointment tomorrow to hopefully get mine sorted. Mine is as bad, if not a little worse, than the picture above.

Just noticed I have the same issue, the grey shape is clearly visible. Nothing on my pictures though...

No chance Apple will replace my iPhone, since there is also damage of when I dropped the phone once ... Too bad, I might bring it in for an out of warranty repair though.

Just an update to this. Had my Genius Bar appointment today. Was told it's a fairly common problem and the fix was to replace the whole screen. I asked was a swap possible as I was pushed for time but was told no, screen replacement was the only way.

So I had to hang around for almost 3 hours waiting for my phone back.

During the 3 hours I noticed that pretty much all of the other space grey 6's in the store had the front camera issue.

Still, they did an excellent job and my phone is as good as new :)

That's weird. My genius said that they could swap the screen which would take about an hour and a half or I could get a new phone. She offered that outright without me balking.

Not sure if this is relevant in the thread anymore, but my space gray 6 had the crescent moon, and I went in for a Genius Bar appointment.

All I had to say was "My front camera has a crescent moon..." And he knew exactly what I was talking about. Explained that it was some sort of "paper" that shifts around in there, and offered a free screen replacement without me saying anything else.

Took about an hour, but I was very satisfied!

I guess I could have dug my heels in a bit over it. But my phone is as good as new anyway, so wasn't necessarily fussed about getting a new one :)

How is the screens uniformity? Do you see any darkish grayish smudges anywhere when you are reading black text on white backgrounds? Or any yellowing?

This is what I'm worried about when I send mine back again before the warranty is up! I've had 5 iPhone 6's and all of their screens have had some sort of uniformity issue. I'm not nit picking either! All of them had some sort of dark spot on the screen or yellowing tint on half that goes to a blue white. The one I have now only has a slight grayish fade that isn't too bothersome so I'm hesitant to send it back for the FaceTime camera problem yet again and get a crappy back that I'm stuck with till the next year! But I also don't want to be selling my i6 with the crescentgate problem either. A few million people probably will without even noticing it. I don't get what went wrong and why the little camera can't just stay put!

No, in fact this screen looks better than the original one it replaced. No issues with uniformity or patching at all.

I gave up on this issue.
Original iPhone 6 got the screen replaced twice...then i got a new phone, as i dropped it..and now it has it again.
I'm going to just keep it.
