The question I have is will carriers let us put these on non-5G plans? I don’t care about 5G at risk point and I’m sure it will have a price increase.

The 4x telephoto instead of 2x is interesting, I don't care about the ultra wide but having a 3x or 4x telephoto would help in some scenario.

The 11 Pro — as well as its Max-sized counterpart — currently offer 4x zoom. The focal length for the zoom lens is 52mm and that will remain the same on the 6.1” 12 Pro.

The 12 Pro Max will be the only to get a slightly better camera, with 47% larger image sensor and a 5x zoom due to the telephoto focal length increasing from 52mm to 65mm (in 35mm equivalent).

Intel calls it “hurry up and idle” for their chips. It’s often less power hungry to go fast and shut down quick instead of going slow and trotting along.

So, from today we can say that the Iphone 11 is a POF or we need to wait a week more?

Telstra in Australia supports mmwave and already have a device that uses it. So hopefully we get that model in Australia. As I will be upgrading my 11 Pro Max for the new 12 Pro Max and I do have 5G in my area so keen to use it.

As far as I’m aware Telstra are only trialling mmWave ahead of the spectrum auction in Australia in 2021. As such it is currently very limited (basically the Gold Coast). So the report may be right, but as Aus and other countries begin to go live with the technology the iPhone is ready to support it.

There’s an error in the macrumors article, it says pro models are released November and the mini and 12 are October.

okay they updated the original tweet.

I'd still rather have the regular and telephoto camera on the non-pro rather than the regular and ultrawide. The telephoto is the perfect focal length for portrait shots.

Aw that sucks so 5g won’t be worth it in the uk then

Mid-band 5G already exceeds 1Gbps in real world tests in places like Japan and Korea.

Don’t count on mmWave to gain much traction. It simply doesn’t penetrate well for mass deployment.

any side by side images of what a video would look like in full screen on a 6.1 VS 6.5 [6.7] device?

I wonder if going from iPhone XS Max to the 6.1 iPhone 12 Pro would be a big downgrade / upgrade to 6.7

Haven't been following the rumors too closely. I remember initially the mini was rumored at $599. Quite disappointing to see it start at $699 and only 64gb. Value isn't there like I assumed it would be. Might just buy an 11 with more storage.

Really ?

I thought the extra elements is to help correct chromatic aberration etc that sensors are more susceptible to

This is about making images sharper and less distotrtions and you have to work harder to maintain light reductions the more elements you add
"The benefit of 7P lenses (7 optical elements) is that it improves image quality by increasing the light transmission rate"

The iPhone 12 pricing is ridiculous. For 200 dollars more you can just get the Pro. Last year the difference between the Pro and the 11 was 400 dollars. That was a big difference. Now only 200 dollars separates the two? That does not sound right.

the mini price isn't as mini as I thought :(
it's gonna be at least 750$ or more here with taxes and all that.
Coupled with likely no TouchID in powerbutton and no price reduction for not having the full 5G outside of the US I think I'll try to make it one more year with my OG SE.

So this is where we all make predictions, right ? Except for the Mini which will sell very very well, the others will be the lowest selling iPhones ever. Not because they’re bad, but in the current economic situation, who needs a super-duper fast 5g phone , especially when most movement is restricted around the world and will be until at least early next year, and most peopke are working/studying from home ? And especially at that price...
Most Apple users will rather upgrade their iPads and Macs.
