  • Camera: triple lens (LiDAR + wide angle with 7P lens, f/1.6, 52mm focal length telephoto, 5x optical zoom)
5x optical does that equal a 130 mm telelens or? 🤔

5x optical zoom with no periscope lens?

Sounds like cameras will be amazing on the pro max at least.

True, at the base cost. I was still thinking about the upgraded storage pricing which any person In their right mind should absolutely get.

1149 VS 749.
I guess you could say that. Or on the flip side, you could say that any person in their right mind wouldn't pay Apple's ridiculous upgrade storage pricing. 🤷🏻‍♂️

So that's it? Just phones? No ARM Macs?

I wouldn't bet on Apple announcing ARM Macs at an iPhone event. Anything is possible but I would think they would want an entire separate keynote to introduce one as I'm not sure that there would be enough time to introduce both. We know how Apple loves to milk even the smallest of features for everything they are worth and that usually takes up a substantial amount of time at these keynotes.

I want the AirTags!

Don't tell me the board rejected the idea, we know they have been in the most advanced stages of final testing.

I suspect airtags have been ready to go since last year (when find my was released with iOS 13), but got delayed due to potential antitrust lawsuits from Tile.

Apple may be waiting for all the extra scrutiny on them to ease before releasing what may be a potentially contentious product.

While I want to believe this, I have a few things that I don’t think add up.
First of all, I think the likelihood of MMWave Being US only is completely ridiculous. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the exact opposite, where MMWave is only available for the international models, where as the US models only have sub 6G. My reasoning is, other countries outside the US have much wider MMWave deployment. In the US, the only carrier that has sort of focused on MMWave is Verizon, and even then, it’s barely anywhere here. T-Mobile and AT&T don’t have any MMWave from my understanding, but I could be wrong about this. Either way, the point is that other countries have it a lot more than we do.
The second thing I have doubts about is these prices.
A 64GB iPhone 12 for $799, which would make a 128 GB $849. To me, these prices seem way too close to the pro models. You could get a 128GB 12 for $849, or $37.38 for 24 months.
Or, a 128GB 12Pro for only an extra $150, or an extra $6.14 a month. These seem way too close together, and not at all going off the last several iPhone launches.
Since the majority of people nowadays buy their phones on the monthly installment plans, Apple has usually priced their phones about $10 a month difference, give or take a dollar or two. The XR was $31 a month, vs the XS $41 a month. That’s a big enough difference to make customers want to opt for the lower model.
With the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro, that gap got even wider.
My prediction for the pricing is that either Jon Prosser is correct, and the pricing for the 12 Mini and 12 are actually $649 and $749.
That would make the 128 GB iPhone 12 $799, a full $200 difference between it and the $999 128 GB Pro. Or, the 12Pro Will be getting a price increase to $1049 and $1149.
I don’t know, but Apple has always been psychological with their pricing. I remember back in the Day of them insisting that the magical price point for products was $199. They made sure that the iPhone, iPod, and the cheapest Apple Watch started at that magical $199 Price point. But lately their pricing has been confusing.
For example, they are clearly trying to get rid of all 32 bit products. So why on earth would they still continue to sell the Apple Watch Series 3, even though they just introduced the SE that is supposed to be its replacement.
Also, why are they still selling the iPhone XR, the iPod Touch, and the Apple TV HD.
Oh, and another thing I just noticed about this rumor, why is the colors for the lower end models going from six options down to five? And where is the orange that was rumored, and is in the invitation.

Was hoping for an upgraded refresh rate on the new screens... will have to stick to my XS max until the next release
I held on to my X for three years (will be getting the 12), and I don't really regret it. It was an expensive device, and I'd expect it to last a bit longer than the previous two years I waited between handsets.

Don't get me wrong, I did envy my 11 wielding friends, but I wanted to stretch out the X a bit longer.

Well boys and girls if the iPhone 12 Pro Max indeed ships on November 12 then it's been nice knowing you since I will have to explain to my wife why I bought the 12 Pro Max and yet I get a delivery package of the PS5 on the same day. RIP me 1979-2020. Insert "In the arms of an angel" song here.

Trust me, this is one of these situations where I’m hoping that Prosser is absolutely wrong.
But if he’s not, Apple, what the hell are you doing?
First, you introduce the Apple Watch SE at an extra $79 then was predicted? That thing should have been $199. That’s the magic price point, remember? Phil Schiller and Steve Jobs used to talk about that all the time. $199 is the magic price point, not $279. even $299 would’ve sounded better psychologically. Come on now.
Then, just to add insult to injury, you take away the ceramic option for the Apple Watch. Yeah, it was quite expensive, and very much not popular. But I know people who actually liked it.
Then, you take your iPad Air, basically turn it into an iPad Pro, and upped the price. Apple has always tried to keep that $499 price. They have rarely moved away from it. But now its 599? What is going on. also, it is October. Where is it. Where is the iPad Air. You already have your next event scheduled, all the products from your previous event should be out by now.
Then, you have had an Apple TV ready for over a year according to rumors. But you’re still selling the old Apple TV HD from 2015, even though you know that it’s completely outdated. introduce a new model, or at least discontinue the HD. That’s just bad for customers, they don’t know that they’re buying a five-year-old product.
And now, you have two of your most exciting products in a long time, the AirPods studio, and the air tags. And you’re going to have the entire Internet attention next Tuesday. And what do you choose to do?
Delay the air tags another six months, even though all signs point to them already being ready, and Price gouge The AirPods Studio. The rumor has been that they would be $349. Where the hell is this $599 coming from, and why would anyone spend $600 on Apple headphones?
Seriously, I get that it’s a weird year and all, but what type of crack is Apple on.

Yeah this is what I thought. We will be waiting years then!

It’s a joke that Apple refuses to give their customers a 1TB option. They have 1TB microSD cards for under $300 now. They won’t do it because they are scared. If the iPad in 2018 could handle 1TB, then it’s an insult to our intelligence that an iPhone in 2021 cannot handle 1TB.... especially since the A14 exceeds the A12X/Z in Metal. The 6GB RAM Pro models need to have 1TB option, there is zero excuse other than pure greed from Cupertino...

I have a feeling that Prosser is simply jumping on board the Kong announcement, arranging his ducks in line.

Totally making up that March date, complete fabrication.

To be fair to everyone, the AirTags have been rumored to come out since June 2019.
They were rumored to be announced at WWDC 2019, and they were not.
They were rumored to be announced in September 2019 with the iPhone 11‘s new U1 chip, and they were not.
Apple was rumored to have an October 2019 event with the 16 inch MacBook Pro, AirPods Pro, and AirTags. That didn’t happen.
They were rumored to come out in March/April with the iPhone SE and the 2020 iPad Pro. Clearly that didn’t happen.
They even leaked in an Apple support video in April 2020. Yet we still don’t have them.
It’s starting to feel like a repeat of the airpower situation. We know they exist, Apple has actually leaked their existence. They are more than just a rumored product at this point. Literally, the only thing they haven’t done is officially said what they are. But they have leaked the name.
And just like airpower, every time there’s an event, every time there’s a website refresh, anytime there’s a new commercial, anything, the rumor is that the airtags will be there. And they never are.
So at this point, either they’re having major technical difficulties, they are scared of antitrust investigations, or they don’t even know when they will launch.

What?! The MAX is going to have better specs? Ffs Apple. Why? You’ve not done us badly like this before. I despise big phones, why not give me a smaller alternative with the same high-end specs? Why do I need a Mini iPad Mini just to get the best specs?

Ridiculous. Makes me reconsider an iPhone.

The “budget“ iPhone Mini not only gets less features but will be later on in the pre-order and shipment. $50 more is no “killer” but the limited of 4GB RAM and starting 64GB of storage limits the appeal for me! I like green color, however. I may just pre-order and see if I like it! It going cost me $749 for 128GB storage + sales tax.

need a new phone to replace my X, and go for the Mini - but then I have to wait longer. Or, go for the more expensive bigger size. 🤔

Does anyone know if the Apple store allows for returns of iphones? If I buy 1 small and 1 big? Can I return a used iPhone when bought from the Apple Store?
14 day return policy is standard for Apple products!
