I would like to be able to transfer Apple Music songs I have saved for offline listening to my iPod nano. Even if there was a deal where you had to re-sync the device at least once a month to keep your songs 'active' or something.

Sigh, that's a color lineup? The first thought that came to mind was, "Ew, fugly, ew."

Remember this? Those were the days. It'd put you in a dilemma as to which one to pick. This lineup makes me wanna count which ones not to choose.

Actualy...I got two because I could not decide between green and orange...so, yeah, I hear you!

If the nano were to support DAB+ radio, I would buy one immediately. I use my 5th gen iPod nano mainly for listening to FM on the go.

Small chance though...

For the life of me, I don't understand shy Apple has all but handed the iPod Touch its hat as it heads out the door as there is still a vibrant market left. The market is kids. Millions of them, toddlers to teens whose parents have the sensibility not to to give little Johnny and Susie an iPhone. Market to kids, design for kids. Have 4.7 and 5.5 inch versions with an A7 chip, even call it the iPad Macro if you want. This is money in pockets ready to be spent and Apple is ignoring it.

This is such a good point. Great way to get kids into the iOS ecosystem - my 7 year old uses one and loves it. Though it seems like the price starts getting close to the iPad mini, which I feel like I see kids playing with more often than iPods.

I have an 8 year old and she has had two iPods and an iPad over the years since she was 3. She still has her iPad right now and its almost 3 years old. She has been needing another iPod for a couple of years now but I didn't want to buy her old hardware that would get outdated so I have been holding off. I sure hope that they upgrade the internals. That is the only way I am going to buying her another one. The market for kids is huge.

I've been waiting years to upgrade my ipod touch to 128GB. My patience is about to run out. If this refresh only offers 64GB then I'm done with iOS. I don't care about color, wrist straps, cameras or processors. It's a MUSIC player! Please Apple, ferchrissakes, more memory!

If you check out the 8.4 Music App your will promptly realise that Apple cares far less about the use as a music player but as a tool to a) gather your musical preferences, b) force some stupid "social network" down your throat and c) sell you a new service

My 7 year old is somewhat similar. I handed down my iPad 2 to him when he was 4. It's still chugging along, though feels so slow on iOS 8. I've been wanting to get him an iPod touch for a while, but buying a brand new A5 based device feels like such a bad decision. He ended up getting one as a gift last month. It was still running 8.0 out of the box, and it was purchased from an Apple store - seems like it had been sitting in local stock there since late september.

HEY GUYS I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING!!!!

Maybe these leaked images are the same iPods being sold today, but changed. What I mean is that when the Ipod 6g comes out, they will change the iPod 5g. Perhaps they are planning to change the colors for the 6g, so they will they change the 5g's as well. I'm sure they'll lower the price. And hey, maybe they're adding the loop to the 6g and removing it from the 5g.

What I'm saying is that these could be the current gen iPods when the new ones come out.

CAUSE THERE IS NO WAY THAT THE IPOD 6G WONT HAVE A FINGERPRINT SENSOR AND WILL HAVE THE SAME CAMERA AND BE THE SAME SIZE AND HAVE NO MUTE BUTTON.

Settle down there. We're not too far away from seeing some official statements from Apple.

Honestly, I don't know why everyone says that Apple should kill the iPod lineup. I mean I am 14 years old and I love my iPod touch 5th generation. But it's becoming outdated. So I really want a new iPod touch to be released.

If they discontinued iPods and my iPod stopped working, what would I used. I have a big family and my parents say I can only get a phone(IPHONE ALL THE WAY) when I get a job. But I can't get a job at 14 years old. So without my iPod, what would I use to listen to music on the way to school? Or what would I use for facebook or apps or everthing!

PLEASE Apple, don't give up on iPods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, we feel the same exact way. This is a way for parents to give their kids a phone without actually giving them a phone with a payment every month. She will get a phone eventually but I am still not sure when. I would say when she turns 10 maybe. Until then it would be awesome to have a new iPod to get her by. There are just so many places that I don't like her taking the iPad into that an iPod would be perfect for.

It's funny because she also has the iPad 2 on 8.4. She is a music lover and is loving the new apple music so far.

I don't associate colours with any of those things, except green for nature, because trees and plants are green.

As such, your graph is moot.

And neither do I, but those are the actual LGBT pride colors and meanings. The point still stands; the iPod colors in no way represent LGBT pride colors. Period, end of argument. Please see my signature for further information.

As much as people would like to believe that, I'm sure that is not the case. Why would Apple change the fifth generation iPod touch, only to discontinue it before WWDC 2016, since it obviously won't run iOS 10? Plus, why wouldn't there be images of another iPod touch if this one is still the 5th generation?

They're probably gonna put an A7 in the device and call it a day. It will be like an iPad Mini 2 in specs (including keeping the same camera), just like the current one is like an iPad Mini 1. They will save features such as Touch ID and true-tone flash for another year, if they decide this "6th generation" sells well enough :(

Besides, I remember when the iPod touch 5th generation front panel leaked back in May 2012. We haven't had any physical leaks regarding the iPod touch, which means that the design will probably stay the same. They can always introduce a new design when the iPhone 7 is released.

It's too bad Apple didn't keep the loop, seriously upgrade the camera, and make the iPod touch a way better option to take with me on vacation and other places I don't really want to take a phone. Cost to replace phone? $1230. Cost to replace iPod, $219.

It's welcome news if apple update the iPod range. One day they will just drop them.

Apart from the nano doe the gym, I've not thought to purchase an iPod for s very long time.

yeah to push Androids into the mobile business market?

yeah, not happening. iPod is the best product for businesses wanting to automate their companies.

I think you meant iPad . This thread is about iPods ( the music player)
