Kind of weird that iPhones are delayed but iOS 14 released with developers getting no time with GM before submitting apps to the App Store.

considering you can buy a pulse ox finger reader for 20 bucks on amazon....but apple treating this like the next coming of slice bread. When they were talking about diabetes i thought they managed to included prickless glucose measuring.....nope :(

You're right, and it's hardly a killer app. But integrating the sensor well into the ecosystem is a nice little feature for an incremental update from S5 to S6. It's at least got some merit.

But raving about using a rubber band as a watch band like it's the second coming of sliced bread and we live in a world where nobody's ever heard of a rubber band. That was beyond disgustingly pathetic.

Not only the $599 iPad Pro 9.7" pricing pain point for Air4, but a quick tech specs lookup and the continuation of the 64/256GB storage split from X/XS/11 Pro's. They have learned nothing after getting on good graces of the 64/128/256 tiers for Xr/11/SE2020.

'Come on man'

Question for the One service

We use the 2tb sub for iCloud (£6.99) and have Spotify (£14.99),

does anyone think Spotify is better than Apple Music?

I'm not sure what people expect anymore. If you sit on rumor sites, Reddit, Twitter, and everywhere else all year. What do you really expect to be wowed by when the event finally comes? I'm just looking for confirmations, the final product design, and pricing at that point.

Yea needleless glucose monitoring would make someone a trillionaire overnight. That's what I was looking for too when they mentioned diabetics.

All the complaints on here when MacRumors has pretty much been able to say what this would be about - reminds me of my favorite saying "No one hates Star Wars movies more than Star Wars fans..." Apparently no one hates Apple more than Apple fans :p Did folks really expect anything about the iPhone when for couple months now consensus was pretty clear?? Ahhh... gotta love first world problems.... Now back to our regularly scheduled burning of the American West and Australia, Murder Hornets, Hurricanes, Global Pandemic, Recession, Climate Change... But d$&$& Apple is waiting a month give or take to announce an iPhone update.

a friend of mine is a iOS developer and he is freaking out cuz no one was informed and there isn’t even a GM yet to run their latest version against.

i think Pokémon Go ,which is a huge game, doesn’t even support iOS 14 yet
He's had 3 months of betas to be testing with. What has he been doing the last 3 months?

Think the new iPad Air seems great, but not liking that they’ve excluded it from their back to school Free AirPods promotion. The previous Air was eligible but looks like they’ve pulled that and now only the Pro is eligible for free AirPods. 😢

Even Apple doesn't wanna pay for those wheels.
Why would Apple bother to put wheels on a machine that’s intended to stay in the same place for extended periods? Wheels aren’t some sort of sought-after performance upgrade, they’re an option if you need to move the machine around a lot.

Yikes, that was pretty disappointing.

Apple Watch Series 6: Not really a worthy upgrade unless you're on a Series 3 or older. Maybe the SE will appeal to some.
Services: Not available yet, but also nothing really groundbreaking here (IMO). I also don't really use Apple Services beyond iCloud so maybe I'm in the minority.
iPad: A spec bump that didn't deserve an event.
iPad Air: Looks great, but considering it doesn't ship soon, not sure why they discussed it today.
iPhones: Obviously not even mentioned.
Macs: Nothing.

It seems they could have just done a press release for the Apple Watch and updated iPad. The Services and iPad Air should have been announced later this fall with the iPhones and Macs.

Totally agree. The event itself felt like they just did for the sake of "having an event in September" just to keep their customers accustomed to the expectation they cultivated for more than a decade.

Yet at the same time they opened the floodgates of uncertainty from this point onward, like "oh this year's event might be in September! October! Late August!" (you get the idea.)

From a company that has cultivated and inked their well-planned schedule of events and expectations within their customers' minds, the way they chose to hold a rather unnecessary event and totally ruin their established culture is...... beyond disappointing tbh.......

They literally destroyed the work they built for years within an hour........

Is the Music in Premier Family? And if you already have a piece through another service, does the price get discounted from the bundle like Disney does for D+? We might be interested in Premier for Fitness, but we already have Music through Verizon Wireless.

If the way Spotlight Search works in Big Sur is intentional, which turns simple one-step searches into three or more steps, I will not upgrade to it.

I really don't want to upgrade to have my OS look worse and have one of its best features gimped.

Ugh, you can't be serious? I haven't used the BS Beta, but you're telling me in BS they're pretty much doing to Spotlight search what they did to Library search when going from iTunes to Music... took what worked and p**ped all over it and called it "innovation"?

Apple's software division apparently thinks UI stands for "unintelligent and ill-considered."
