So that compatibility list raises a question: Do «iPad with Retina Display" refers to both, the third and fourth generation iPads? :O

Why would you expect hardware at a developers conference?

I'm absolutely baffled why people have been expecting hardware

Exactly. Why do people want rMBP updates? For 100 mhz? Why retina MBA? Apple will release that when lazy intel releases broadwell. There's nothing to update.

huuuuge dissapointment here. Besides some nice new add ons and twitches in the new both OS and iOS system nothing is groundbreaking, noting!

Yes, the new swift languance is compelling, and yes it's impressive that everything works just a bit faster, smoother and in some cases nicer all at once.... but groundbreaking? Leading? Showing a new direction?

Nothing!

It's all very very vague...home systems? Nice, but no products that works with it still, cloud sharing like foto's? Nice, but jawbreaking? Not really, tweaking widgets, cool? Sure, but nothing that will chance my way of working with a mac with the exeption maybe when I can get phonecalls now on my deskt, but hey, there where tools out there that enabled that feature all ready....

So, much vague new direction, a bit more shiny desktop....but seriously? Is that worth watching?

The criticsters stating Apple lost it's inventfullness will be able to state they where right. And this, this is not good for the Apple stocks if Apple doesn't come up with some new annouchement soon.

Love Apple products but this was a dissapointment for me.

Anyway, life goes on, so does Apple. See you later.

Another disappointing release of iOS. Woooo 3rd party keyboards....finally. Predictive text keyboard....WOW...finally. Widgets in notification area....Weeeeee....finally. All stuff that Android has had for years and years.

I will say, that iOS 8 does have a lot of good stuff if you're a dev.

It's the difference in approach between companies, Android = throw everything at the wall and see what sticks. Apple = Wait to see what's successful and make the best(in their minds) version of it. Would you prefer Apple be like Samsung? Release about a hundred different devices a year just for the sake of it? Or rush out a device and have it fail just so they can say they were the first?

I have Android devices and I have Apple devices the biggest things people make a fuss about on Android are Widgets and Keyboards personally I couldn't care less about either but if you like them, now you have them.

I just want to say the Yosimete and 8 are both GORGEOUS... :D

Craig FTW, and thanks MacRumors for an excellent coverage, esp the live feed. WIN!

I’d LOVE to attend the inter app communication session(s)! Of course, the keynote isn’t expected to have much in the way of details, but it’s +all+ about the details.

Was the iOS interface to the cloud share still silo’d? It almost looked like there was some concept of a multi-app repo, like a shared “documents” folder[?]

I loved what I saw of swift, it had a nice, clean, elegant looking syntax/structure, as I mentioned before, if you squint a little, it looks like Ruby (my current favorite for web/API/backend services).

According to Timmy a third of Android users are using a four year old OS. He seems very familiar with that old OS as IOS is just now catching up to it. Glad to see IOS finally getting some of the features Android has had for more than four years. You're still way behind IOS, (not to mention ugly) but you're catching up a little.

I can deal with them floating around the regular threads, but during a keynote they're a serious pain to have to scroll past when you want to honestly hear what people who, you know, intend to USE the software/hardware being described are thinking about the announcements.

I cannot imagine spending 2 hours watching a keynote from Samsung or any other Android manufacturer, even if they had one to watch (do they? I have no clue) because I'm just not interested in what they're selling.

Yeah me either, I use android so id watch an android keynote but no chance I'd register on a Windows forum to tell everyone how much better ios or android is.

But again, the mods allow it, so why would they stop :D
