Dell pre-2014 is radically different to their revised XPS line, I think that's where the confusion comes from.

The current XPS line is the same build quality as Apple or the new Razers.

That has to be proven with time.

They haven't been "the new Dell" long enough and there hasn't been enough time to see if 80 percent or more of these notebooks hold up after three years of usage.

Something tells me this new display will mean thinner machines instead of using the extra space and for battery and therefore 32GB RAM upgrades. It might even have a smaller battery due to the more energy efficient display. Apple's eventual goal is to run an entire computer off a rechargeable button cell, regardless of how practical or usable the machine actually is for professional workflows.

Basically between this article, the previous one about RAM, and all the articles showing all the crappy things about the new machines, this is a lesson for all of us: Don't wait forever to upgrade if you really need to upgrade.

It's the upside of all the doom and gloom this week... Apple's great at leaking to try and break a negative news cycle!

What BS is this??? There are other Skylake laptops on the market that employ 32GB of RAM (looking at Dell XPS 15)
That laptop uses DDR4, the macbook pro's use LPDDR3 because of the lower power usage. LPDDR4 isn't supported by skylake.

I am just going to throw a tantrum and repeat mLED until Apple abandons the silly OLED pursuit and goes mLED.

mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED... mLED...

Make it happen Apple. This is courage and innovation.

I can't wait to see what these will $ell for.
Don't worry. By the time they are available we won't be using money as a currency. We'll also be doing time travel! After all it took Sir Ive 2 yrs to come up with the touch bar.

Oh, NOW we get tons of rumors...
Funny, right? It's like Apple have sensed the post-launch disappointment in the community and are now spreading these rumors to give us some hope again.

OLED panels are often thinner

Oh, thank God! Already having major back problems carrying my new .7mm thick MacBook pro!

Even thinner. I have two questions:
1. If it falls on the ground on its edge, will it cut a hole to the Earth's core ?
2. If I look at it edge on will I even be able to see it ?

I, for one, welcome our new 2 dimensional overlords....

Wow, you know there is issues when people haven't even received this years MacBook Pro and the articles and leaks about next years rev is already out. Very telling.

I feel like all these analysts that predict these things need to start developing Apple's products from now on. They keep drumming up excitement to inevitably fall flat when Apple actually announces their products.
