Downloading a software update now on the Verizon branded Note 3. I have no idea what it is.

Edit - Looks like I went from build MI9 to MJ7. Now to dig around and see what all it includes :D

It seems it addresses connectivity and call sound quality for Verizon users.

I wasn't having any call quality or connectivity issues, but my third N3 seems to have lost some battery staying power since this update. Wonder how they addressed these fixes and if it requires more juice now for calls (I'm on phone 3+ hours each day).

perhaps needs re-calibrating and will sort itself out. I always find with android phones after an OS update it takes a few days for my battery to be consistent. Either that or they have introduced a new kernel which isn'y stepping down as quick and therefore using more juice ?

Noticed my note 3 home button has got a couple of light scratches today. It's gonna bug the crap out of me. I've been looking after thus handset but appears as if my nail may have scratched it. So disappointed and annoyed.

:( :(

Talk about a 180-degree turn in my mobile phone world. Just a year ago, I was the biggest Apple diehard you would've met. iPhone junkie, to the core (pun intended!)

After hearing rumors of the 5S sticking with a 4" screen, I decided I had to jump ship. Got an S4 at launch. Took me a good month to get used to Android, almost gave up and went back to iOS... but stuck it out and eventually fell in love. Thank God for customization, launchers, etc.

Always thought the 5" screen was just right. Always thought bigger phones were unnecessary and ridiculous. Couldn't imagine putting one of those up to my ear. But after playing with someone's Note 3 recently and having my jaw drop, I realized a few things:
  • I rarely ever put the damn phone up to my ear! Speaker phone or built-in car bluetooth
  • THAT SCREEN! My God.
  • That battery!
  • That processing speed & RAM!

A new, white Note 3 is now on its way to me. Tuesday cannot come soon enough. CAN'T WAIT!

I joined the Note 3 club as well.:D

So I got that security/knox message today that others are were reporting earlier. I got it when I hooked up to my Book 9 to drag a few files on. It actually stopped the file transfer. I cleared the cache and data for knox manager as others have said that temp fixes the issue. I say temp because if you reboot your device the message comes back. And you gotta clear cache again. But if you never reboot, all will be fine. Well I just got that stability update that went out earlier, and now I'm happy to say it has fixed that knox issue. I tried a reboot and no security message from knox anymore. Really liking all the quick stability updates. That's two updates in two months already. Good stuff.

iPhone 5s vs Galaxy Note 3 vs iPad Air

Just picked up the Note 3 and am VERY happy with it! It's actually feels a lot lighter than most people think because the weight is very well distributed. I think it's also rugged enough to not need a case.

Great performance, awesome battery life, very versatile and it takes excellent photos. Much improved over the Note 2 and is not frustratingly laggy like the Galaxy S4. It's also very difficult to read on my iPhone 5s now after getting used to the screen on the Note 3 and iPad Air :p

I hear you I just had to do a few things on a clients 4s. I loled picking it up. I can't believe I spent so much time on that teensy tiny little screen. It feels like a child's toy after the note.

I used to play infinity blade on it and was blown away lol.

How do you feel about having a note 3 and an iPad Air? Do you feel like you use the iPad as much (or as much as before if you owned an iPad previously) or do you just go to the note 3 for most things? Was debating going s4 and iPad Air route or just going note 3 for everything. I know everyone's uses are different, but just thought I'd ask.

So i flashed an unbranded european BTU Rom on my Note 3 and I have noticed it has a darker stock samsung keyboard than my previous vodafone rom.

Decided to flash a new stock rom so that I would get updates sooner. This is the third update for the unbranded unlocked European model since September whereas my Vodafone stock os was still on the the September version.

Hopefully this will speed up getting 4.4 when it's finally released too.

I use the iPad Air with the Note 3 as much as I use it with the iPhone. I love the versatility and even size of the Note 3 and can get a lot more done much more efficiently.

However, the iPad has its own purposes of watching movies, reading and websurfing in bed. Also use it for keynote and AirPlay presentations etc for work.

Both are really great devices.

I have a question.

I use 2 phones back and forth between the Note 3 and S4 and it seems that removing the sim from the Note 3 is difficult as there is no spring to push out the sim. Is there a easy way to remove the sim?

It really is difficult to remove. This actually works:

attach a piece of scotchtape to the sim and pull it out.

For those of you who got the last stability update, are you noticing better RAM management? I'm always sitting around 1.2GB of 2.38GB. I've never really paid attention so not sure if this is an improvement. Things are running smoothly as usual but just curious to know.

Sweet, it looks like you got your Note 3. I think I saw you in the comment section on Droid Life a while back.

Well I have the newest OS for Note 3 for the international model and right now in Task Manager I'm sat at 1.86gb / 2.38 and I've seem it go as high as 2.1gb

Strangely however if you go into application management and look at 'RAM' usage it says I'm only using 1.3gb with 1.1gb free ???

So yeah there is a big 500mb discrepancy somewhere and I'm not sure where.
