could have swore I replied to this? Oh well, I am loving it so far. screen is fantastic and the overall feel is really nice int he hand. It's technically bigger than my note 2 but "feels" easier to hold and of a higher quality. Battery life is a marked improvement as well.

Thats weird I swore I saw you reply to it too...

Noticed my note 3 home button has got a couple of light scratches today. It's gonna bug the crap out of me. I've been looking after thus handset but appears as if my nail may have scratched it. So disappointed and annoyed.

:( :(

Today I almost thought I had scratches on my home button as well but upon further inspection it was just some dirt cleverly disguised as a scratch. I know exactly how you felt because I was bubbling inside right up until I wiped it of with a cloth.

I guess we're just anal like that :D

I just realized last night that when the Note3 gets to <5% battery, it no longer dims to the lowest possible level like it did on my Note 2...it used to be that at <5% the phone is practically unusable due to the dark screen but this new bit is huge for me.

Does anyone use theirs on full brightness? Just realized it makes it look so much better as opposed to three quarters of the way bright, especially on white pages. Also, why does the keyboard cover up the screen I'm typing in when using the mobile version? I had to switch to the desktop version just to type this.

No problems here. I'm using Firefox Beta and SwiftKey.

I'm at full brightness, wouldn't use it any other way.

Chrome/Swiftkey, same.

do people recommend this over the htc one?

If you want the better camera and the S-Pen yes.

If you want a more streamlined UI and better music app / speakers / headphone sound then the HTC One is a great choice.

The Note 3 at least doesn't have the lag and micro stutters that plagued many peoples enjoyment of the S4, but yes Sense 5 is far better optimised and had a greater coherence design wise throughout its stock applications than Touchwiz on the Note 3 does.

Simple things like dialer and being able to swipe through tabs is greatly missed from my HTC one since switching to Samsung devices.

That being said - I am very happy with my Note 3 - more so than I was with my HTC one as the Camera on the HTC One was just not good enough for me. Had the HTC One come out with a 13mp camera, I doubt I would have ever swapped to an S4 and then eventually a Note 3.

Touchwiz also seems to suit the Note 3 and it's greater size than it did on the S4. SPlanner is less cluttered when seen on a bigger screen for example.

But different strokes.

This is my dilemma, I have both the Note 3 and HTC One in front of me. I love the way the One integrates your contacts with FB and Twitter, the display and speakers are best on the market and Sense is top notch. However, TouchWiz has so many ways to multitask and customize your phone its mind boggling. I also love the display size of the Note. I have another week or so to decide which one I am going to keep.

Anyone know why my 4G is on and lighting up when I send messages while I'm on wifi? I don't want my data being used while I'm on wifi

For me, the quality of the N3' screen in has no equal.

Yeah I see

I need to go to the shop and hold the note 3.... a lot of people say its just a bit too big to be an everyday phone so i need to actually hold the phone in my hand and see if i can cope with its size...

whats putting me off the HTC One is what i am being told about the poor battery. Since i listen to music and browse the net on my phone a lot, i need a phone with a good battery.

Hmm i plan to use my phone as my main music player so that draws me to the htc one....but the battery life and features makes the note 3 a good choice as well.
Again i think i need to go and hold the phone to see if i can cope with the size of it. since this phone will be on a 2 year contract, I need to make sure that i pick the right one.

Picked up my note 3 in black yesterday and don't ever see going back to an iPhone.

It is rather large but I have already gotten used to it, sold the One last night and I'm keeping the Note. Battery life was average on the One for its size. Nowhere near as good as the Note of course, so that may be something to consider.

What's the music quality like on the note 3?
I plan to use jaybird bluebud x wireless earphones

I dont do much music on my phone at all so I won't be much help there. However, any phone with Beats audio in it is probably going to be a step up from one that does not.

So my phone has been suffering from random restarts. Home button doesn't work some times. A long press of the power button won't give me the option to turn off, or restart only turns the screen off. Sometimes my phone will freeze up, and is non responsive at all. This all happened after I got a process.google.phone or something similar error message, and the phone app quit on me. Any suggestions? I really don't want to have to do a complete refresh if I don't have to.

So far very good. I BT it over to wireless speakers and in my car. Keep the EQ on Auto mode and it sounds great. Any playing with it turns to crap and some features are not available via BT. I tried the headphone jack/cable but it sounds less than quality vs plain BT.

Your mileage might vary.

Oh okay
So you prefer it to the htc one?

Samsung phones are known for this? Freezing and lagging after a while

To experience everything you've listed is highly unusual. I have but two suggestions.

1) Perform a factory reset. Doing a factory reset is fast and easy. It'll even reload all you're apps automatically if you watch for that option when preparing to restore

2) Return it.

The Note 3 has been one of the very best yet. I've bought three for family members and every single one is exemplary.

It's largely a story told by Android haters. Mine have been fast, smooth and very enjoyable. Just like my iPhone's.

this just started happening on mine as well. Very strange. Only solution I've found is to turn off mobile data but that's annoying

Turning off mobile data is annoying but I've found that it does help conserve quite a bit of battery as well. What I do now is set up profiles in tasker to automatically shut off mobile data when connected to certain WiFi access points.

Keep in mind also that the note 3 supports apt-x for enhanced sound, if you've got headphones or speakers to support it. Samsung sell a pretty cool apt-x headphone adapter as well (hs3000) that doubles as a Bluetooth headset and let's you plug your regular headphones in - it's quite cheap now too.

Amazing phone .I have the black note 3 for my company account . Definitely getting rid of my 5s and replacing it with a white one
