If I had a Note 3 I wouldn't care at all for 4.4.

It wont bring any new important feature to the device...

What does it offer? Immersive mode (not useful on the Note), launcher option in preferences (already can do that other way), printing (how many people will use that?)... Nothing more I think. The GEL wont arrive on the Note 3.

Except for ART optimization which will make it even snappier. I've been running ART on my Nexus 7 and there is quite the difference.

Yeah, I heard the same thing about project butter in 4.1 with my SGS3 and instead of making the phone faster the update made the animations and overall experience slower than on 4.0.

I just don't trust Samsung to do a good job with the update...

I'm not returning the Note 3. It rocks! :)

Problem now is even though Nexus 7 FHD is on 4.4, I doubt I'm going to use it much since the Note is fast, has a great screen, nice camera and is more portable.

Anyone want my Nexus 7? Again, it's on 4.4. :D

In the 4.4 leak for the S4 Samsung for some reason removed ART. So its very likely 4.4 firmware for the note won't have it either.

Hey Mac or anybody with the s view wireless charging cover how much thicker is it that the normal s view cover? Anybody know?

Very slight. I bought both. Certainly less than difference between standard back and wireless back cover.

The standard sview case is surprisingly quite thick so the difference to wireless charging version is negligible.

Though in all honesty I've stopped using the s-view case altogether and back to my bounce. 1) didn't like how it makes it harder snapping camera photo with cover open. 2) and when using camera with case closed using sview window it would only snap a small square picture. 3) Google play music info is not displayed.....

Thanks for that, I've got a charging pad so have thought about getting one.

Which case do you use now?

As it currently stands I use a third party wireless QI adapter (from Amazon) under the 'original' slim standard back cover, and then use my Spigen Bounce on top of that and with that combo I get wireless charging with the Spigen Bounce case.

If I use the wireless charging back from Samsung, because of the extra thickness - it no longer fits into the Spigen Bounce case.

And likewise I've stopped using either of my S-view cases simply because I found it didn't offer me as much freedom/control whilst on as I thought it may.

Waiting for people to comment on their experiences with the 4.4 update.

Want to know if performance and battery are better or worst to decide if I give the SGS5 a chance.

Can anyone give me a suggestion on how to take the videos I take with the note 3 and watch them on my old laptop? It's the only computer I have and I was wondering what video player everyone uses to view and share their videos. My computer tries to play them through iTunes and it just doesn't work.

Not good Sammy if true....

http://www.phonesreview.co.uk/2014/...droid-4-4-update-causing-accessories-problem/

Starting to come across very arrogant not only to 3rd parties but to consumers with the Knox warranty switch already sneekily embedded on our devices.

Is it a case of (with Samsung success last few years, they) Samsung are starting to have a "god" complex.... and now act like a dictatorship to consumers and 3rd party manufacturers. Seems all companies get like this at some point and it requires a failure to bring them back down to earth and back to servicing their consumer and not the consumer servicing them.....

This is very bad if true! Samsung is having great success right now and build some great phones. But if they start messing with consumers….well right now there are too many great Android phone makers right now. Hope this isn't true and support for third party accessories will be in the final release.

I'm really teetering on my last leg with Samsung honestly. Knox infuriates me. The insanely unorganized and slow OTA releases. My Note 3 has an annoyingly wiggle prone home button. Now this?...

Did you try to return you N3 for one without a wiggle in the home button?

Every single one on demo or purchased had it. It's because there is no raised bezel surrounding the button like there was on the Note 2 I had. It's just my OCD.
Totally understand....my iphone 5s rattles when you shake it because of the home button.....

I take it, it only wiggles if you try to wiggle it?

LOL....just like my IP5s...it rattles when I shake it because of the the home button. ONLY when i shake it.....never have a need to shake it really.....but just knowing it does irks my OCD a little! :)

Yea I'm OCD on quite a few things, but buttons I am not. :D

One thing that does irk me about the 5s home button is how the gold ring looks somewhat tarnished under certain lighting. You wouldn't believe how many times I tried to spit shine it to perfection :)

Weird thing happened today

Went to swap my battery and when I put my new one in it came up as safe mode and I had to log into Facebook and Twitter again and lost all my lock screen widgets.

Any idea what caused this to happen?

It's possible that the volume keys were being pressed inadvertently on boot up.

Here's how to get into a safe mode

1. Fully turn OFF the device
2. Hold both Up and Down Volume keys and simultaneously press the Power Button to boot.
3. Release Power Button but keep holding Volume keys until boot is complete.
4. To exit Safe Mode simply reboot your phone normally.

Well I reset it and it doesn't say safe mode now. So guessing it's ok now. But just off how I lost my lock screen widgets and widgets on my screen
