Putting in my two cents. Just got mine after my GN2 suffered the faulty sim tray of death and was out of warranty by 6 months.
Very fine phone. The biggest differences I see between the GN2 and 3 are the screen resolution, and the way if feels in hand. Other than that, very similar phones in all areas.
I have been using Android for a while now, on Nexus and Samsung devices, and I am still having trouble seeing the difference between vanilla Android and Touchwiz. My issue has more to do with ATT bloatware which I just don't use.

Added issue, the GN3 has this Lookout Security app on it which I am very on the fence about. More ATT bloat, annoying, but is the security worth it? It has about 3 days to prove itself.

I disabled every app I was not using or cared for including samsung push service which was keeping my phone awake all day and killing my battery.

Got some snow the other day and it was the stick onto everything variety, a virtual winter wonderland so to speak. I took some snaps and man all I can say is my jaw dropped. Impressive to say the least! The color and clarity is outstanding.

I'm intrigued by the Note 3 and I want one. But, I despise Samsung and the way they do business so much I won't buy a Samsung branded product.

They just got through knocking off the Dyson Vacuum dude, they do it in every market they enter, TV's, appliances, etc., such a ******* way to do business ...

It bothers me so no Samsung for me, they do make the best pocketable phablet, sure wish Apple offered more screen sizes.

Disregard your deep seeded hatred for Samsung and just buy one if you really want it. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

.

I heard about Dyson taking legal action, but you got a source in regards to Samsung knocking off TVs, appliances, etc...? Knock off is normally reserved for phony cheap products which Samsung does not obviously make. It's a fact that the GS4 costs more to make than the iPhone. But I digress, can you give me those sources. I'd like to read up on it.

Thinking of getting a note 3. Everything else I own is Apple, MBPr and ipad Air, 5S. Will it sync with my Macbook contacts? Can I get photos into iPhoto. Will it be a better business phone than 5S.

anybody got the s view wireless cover and pad? how fast does it take to charge?

Yes... meeeeee :)

Well to be honest I'm normally around 65% remaining at the end of the day - the charge time then would be around 2 hours to get it back to full. Remember the last bit of charge is trickle charged so I'd say it's probably around 3.5-4 hours if your looking at a full charge from empty.

There is no difference in time between standard wireless charging back / s-view wireless case / 3rd party wireless battery sticker.

Cool, does it add much bulk to the normal s view cases?

Not really no.

The existing S View Case is quite bulky (thick back) in itself so the difference is negligible to the Wireless S View.

The difference is far less for example than the normal thin back to the wireless charging back.

thanks mac

I've got the charging pad and have thought about getting the s view wireless cover. My only question mark was how long it would take to charge on the pad.

Talking about charging times. My note seems to be charging from less than 10 % to full in about 2 hours? Is this the right?

My s4 also charged in roughly the same time too.

Is the note 3 a more productive device compared to the iPhone? Yes.

Will it sync as seamlessly with your Mac? No.

It can be done but will require use of other services such as google drive which can push photos into iPhoto using Automator. This will give you access to docs saved on your Mac as you can always just save them to drive instead of locally and use google quick office to edit and create on the go. Google music manager will keep all of your iTunes music synced.

Thanks, sounds like too much trouble.

Anything I need to know if I move my Sim card from my iPhone 5 to the note 3 with the Sim adapter? Or will everything just work fine for switching back and forth if needed?

If you plan to switch back and forth regularly, I'd suggest not activating iMessage on the iPhone and just using standard SMS/MMS for your messages. A common problem encountered (myself included the first time I switched) when moving from an iPhone to another device is the Apple servers still have your mobile number associated with an iPhone and any messages sent from another iPhone never reach you on your Android device. Taking the appropriate measures to deactivate iMessages will usually ensure it'll work (eventually ;)) but it can be tiresome, especially if you plan on switching back and forth.

Thanks for the info. I will make sure I turn it off before hand. So is that all then I would have to worry about? Nothing else?

What about if you want to still use iMessage by your email address?

You can still do that, just realize that people of the iPhone can't tell the difference if your texting them on the phone or computer, so the next time they text you it may go to you computer I message and not to your phone so you may not get the message in time.

Ok, which is useless when your wife and kids have iPhone/ipods.

Has anyone heard when the ATT Note 3 will be getting 4.4?

I know its a longshot and I doubt the answer is soon but throwing it out there.

God knows. I have an unlocked unbranded BTU model and I too am still in Limbo. God I hate android software rollouts. ...
