If I didn't have an LG Optimus G Pro already and a Note II I would jump on the Note III in a second. LOL. Might jump on it anyways if it has wireless charging. I have really grown to love it on my LG. Just sit the phone down and it charges. Its more convenient than you think it would be.

Standard 32GB.... Could Apple follow next?

It's good to know that at LEAST there will be a USA model with a minimum of 32 GB, which neither of the previous Notes had. I really wish Samsung (or USA carriers) would ACTUALLY offer the 64 GB models that they always say is coming but never does. But we'll see what happens.

I would say it's ATT and Verizon's fault. We here in the US get it later due to them putting their stupid branding etc on it. Then they deny certain functions or models so they can sell you add ons or whatever else to milk you dry.

I give Apple much respect for flipping the finger to the carriers and dictate their terms. Just wish more manufacturers would do the same.

They were vague about USA release date. 149 country release Sept 25 2013?

When is USA release date for its 4-5 big carriers?

That's why carriers love to promote non apple products. In return manufacturers give carriers a significant discount over msrp. Sprint CEO already stated Sprint subsidizes iPhone 40% more than any other phones they carry.

Carriers in USA see iPhone as a necessary relationship. They hate apple charges them the most plus control all the software. Yet carriers know they still need iPhone in their lineup. Even big bad Verizon still sees 50% of their most recent smartphone sells are Apple iPhones despite newer windows and android phones. We all know once new iPhone is release it will make up close to 70% of all smartphones sold at most of major carriers in USA.

The USA market is one market where Android growth has grounded to a half.

I am leaning towards getting the note 3 myself. I like all phones. I had note 2. Liked it a lot. Only wished its scren resolution was higher. So note 3 is 1080p on a 5.7 screen is perfect. I will still keep my iPhone 5. The 5S isn't a major upgrade for those who have a 5.

ah. thanks. googling sources say 9/25 worldwide and october for the us.

does anyone know if the worldwide version works on tmobile us?

Voice will work. 3G data will work in markets where the 1900 band has been refarmed to HSPA. If your area uses the 1700 band for HSPA, you will be stuck with 2g service.

I was really underwhelmed by this announcement at first, feeling a bit let down. However the more reviews I see the more excited I become. This should be a great device.

Wow, it's always fun watching for the first time a demo of new Galaxy features. The same thing happened with the S4 -- you saw videos of a smartphone doing things no one has ever really seen before.

Now it's the same with the Note III. Watching the videos is fun. The Pen Window, for example, is such a nifty feature. Really taking multi-tasking to the next level.

Very neat stuff.

Though I do hope in 2014, Samsung moves away from the physical home button.

The home button is the best feature.

I like that faux leather back similar to the one I liked from the BlackBerry Bold 9000 from 2008.

I hate glossy plastic backs. I dont know why they went for it in the Note 2 because I pretty much preferred the patterned/textured back from the dark version of the Note 1. I guess to make the Note 2 look more like the S3. I liked how Samsung returned to the roots of the Note 1 with a more angular look while giving it similar dimensions to the Note 2 while increasing the screen size.

Note 1 had the better backside but Note 2 had the better dimensions as 1 felt too wide. Note 3 is a mixture of both and the results look great.

Usually the 3rd to 5th generation of a line is when a company gets it right and hit a grand slam. Looks like 3rd's time the charm for Sammy. I applaud them for it. The claimed 40% better battery life is even a BIGGER and BETTER deal than that faux leather backside. Note 2's batt was already outstanding enough. This looks to be the phone/phablet of the year.

Didn't see this mentioned..

One last thing of interest is that the Note 3 uses a USB 3.0 Micro B connection at the bottom for charging/data transfer. I was told that while the port is different, a micro USB cable can be plugged into "one side" of the port just fine.

Looks like the port on my Western Digital USB 3.0 external hard drive.

Is this the first phone to feature such port? Looking forward to fast transfer speeds. :p

Damn Samsung can't come up with their own designs? They first copy Apple's iPhone design, now they copy Blackberry's design with the Blackberry 9000...in all seriousness though, faux leather though?
