Did I seriously get downvoted because I defended the integrity of a Samsung product? **** guys, if you didn't notice I use and LOVE my iPhone, I just know that competition is always a GOOD thing, never a bad thing. Competition drives both Samsung and Apple to make a better product.

Have a bit of an open mind, it's not like using Android is the equivalent of signing your soul to the devil, jeez..

And to think this is only the 3rd iteration of this phone. It's no shock that the Galaxy S line of phones has become such a market leader. I love how you can actually have different settings for the display. That way people who enjoy more natural colors can do so. Brilliant!!
Whether Apple loyalist want to admit it or not, it's phones like this that will speed up the improvements made to the iphone. Competition drives companies to do better. That's a fact. You can thank all the 4+ inch Android phones out there for your upcoming 4 inch iphone.
This review has only made me more psyched to pick it up.

Speed improvements? The 4S feels faster than dual-core because the processor and software work perfect together.

I don't need to thank anyone but Apple when they release a larger screen. It' is inevitable that they're going to make the screen larger. Even if Android didn't exist, people would still want a larger display.

Ummm...let's see. Where did I say "speed improvements?" I believe I said, "...it's phones like this that will speed up the improvements made to the iphone."

as in making more improvements sooner than later. i.e. notification center in iOS 5. Make sense now? If you didn't let your hate for anything not Apple get in the way, you may actually comprehend posts better.

Meh. If I want a tablet, I'll get an iPad.

Oh, god, can't you think of something more original to say? Comparing a 4"+ phone to the size of an iPad is getting old and tired. At least save this tired argument when talking about the Galaxy Note.

Trust me. I don't hate anything but Apple. I've had an EVO 4G, Nexus S 4G, and an Epic 4G Touch, all for at least 3 months, and the first two before the iPhone. I just find that the iPhone fits me better than Android so I'm professing my appreciation for it, if you will.

Meh... Keep it. I think it's totally ugly & cheap looking. And way too big. and I don't care how far android has come, it's still not as fluid and smooth as iOS. Good luck with it. I'll be very happy waiting until October for the next iPhone.

Well along with making their own high end phones, I'm sure Sammy will be hard at work to make sure the heart and brains of the next iphone are just as amazing and reliable as all the other iphones before it. ;)

Must be tough for Samsung. They make chips for not just the iPhone, but a myriad of other android devices that almost no one ever buys.

That's a whole lot of nobodies. Ouch!

Over 210M iPhones sold to date. Ouch!

Plus, market share means nothing. I could invent a phone that transforms into a machine that prints money, builds Lamborghini's, and constructs mansions all at once. That doesn't mean it will have the most market share.

It's big but not ugly and it's quite smooth. You see, iOS is a static UI. There are no widgets and no real-time updating, only sliding screens. It had to be smooth.

iOS is smooth because of gpu acceleration. Android is consistently laggy because of a lack thereof. 8 core CPUs aren't going to fix the problem of incomplete software. I want to love android, but I feel like it's Windows without the third party hardware support.

It is almost 5 inches. It is longer than most penises on these forum. I think it is a favorable comparison.

Sure the S3 is a great device, but the Play Store is abysmal and the OS is unstable. I can honestly say that when I went from the 4S to the Epic 4G Touch, the experience was not what I expected. The total opposite of iOS. I could not wait to get back to iOS, which I did so just last week in fact.
Sounds like the voice of inexperience & impatience speaking.

When one states that Android is totally opposite of Android, that reveals a lack of understanding. Of course it is, it's supposed to be.

The OS is unstable? That claim further reflects one of two things. A bad phone, or lack of effort to learn it.

I've been using Macs for years. Yet a friend recently switched. Guess what? It's not the same as his PC, therefore he had to learn the differences. Now he's very happy that he didn't give up and bash it.

It's fascinating how many get satisfaction out of bashing a device just for the sake of it.

I happen to like & use both iOS, & Android, specifically because they are different. In my world nothing beats choices & variety.

you have it backwards.....you can thank apple for your 4+ inch phones...

Uh, they're in the leaderboard of phone sales before and after Android right with Apple.

No need to deny reality, bub.

What the heck are you guys fighting for? I don't get it. Iphones are iphones, android devices are android devices. I've had my share of really bad experiences with android, but i'm still open minded i think... By the way? Why in satan's name are so many versions of android out there being used? I just wanna see a device that will be able to update from android something something to the latest distro... Anyone from google around here?

It amuses me that you see people complaining about the plastic back, when the 3G & 3GS had just that and was hailed - and the iPhone 4/4S glass back is widely criticized too.

Is aluminium the preferred backing?

Although this SGS3 looks good i'm going to hold out for the next iPhone, I just hope it wont be October before its released !
