I'm kinda wondering if I should refuse shipment now with the 5% restocking fee. I've never seen a company besides a suit company to do this.
We have a few people on AC forums that have refused the deliveries and are pending tracking back to Samsung so I would think okay, I would think not opening the box they should waive any fees.

A part of me wanted to keep it as well, because right now any iPhone that is coming out is utterly boring to me. After Liquid Glass, I just want something fun and more customizable. Which is why I might still keep, while having the option of waiting for the S26U. The craziest part is the fee is pretty much nothing, it's just the principal of said fee that's holding me up. Like if I were to return a suit after a job interview, formal gathering, etc. yea I can see why they would make me pay a restocking fee for that, but for a brand new(and in most case not perfected yet) technology that people isn't still 100% comfortable with? That's kinda crazy.

I'm there with you plenty times it's not about how much the fee but why pay for it on this kind of purchase. You will have options with the S26U coming up next

New promos available for both the foldables in Spain after the initial promos ended. Now they are better IMO. First we had the free double storage, and now they are taking 200€ off the Fold 7 and 150€ off the Flip 7, which to me is a better deal since cheaper is always cheaper.

3 days in and I'm really loving it. Battery has been pretty good also. I don't think it will be much of a concern.

The UAG Mouve case is a no go - not screen protector friendly at all... Shame as it's a nice looking case...

The Spigen Aramid case is doing a solid job currently... Think I'll run the Slim Armor Pro case for a few days and see if I gel with it

I came across this case Verizon store today though I didn't buy it but it had a nice fit to it it seems it has a different name outside of the Verizon store from doing a little bit of research.

When I lived in the USA it was common practice of some carriers to charge a restocking fee if you returned a phone after trying. I only did it once and thought this was reasonable as often these try before you buy schemes get abused and the cost just trickles down to all users.

I think my issue is I only had iPhones where Apple made it incredibly easy to return anything, I remember going through multiple MBPs just to get a certain screen or NAND. No issues with returns at all, same with iPads and iPhones. Sometimes I just didn't like the color.

That being said, I don't see anything beyond incremental spec bumps since the X. So I am leaning towards keeping the Fold 7 solely because it's something new to me. I am tired of giving Apple money for the same phone except only slightly better.

To be fair, Apple and Samsung have been doing incremental spec bumps for years. Both companies are hesitant to transition to silicon batteries and enhance charging speeds. Samsung used to take risks, but that trend has diminished. I am still surprised that they haven’t released an all-screen S Ultra phone yet, considering Apple is rumored to do so with the 20th Anniversary iPhone in 2027.

Samsung really dragged their feet with the Fold line. Unfortunately, Apple and Samsung can get away with minor hardware updates in the US due to the lack of competition.

Well that's sort of my point :)

All this easy returns or 10 days try before you buy etc costs are just added to the price of your Apple products. Everyone pays up front for this regardless if they use it or not and for those that live in countries with no Apple store do not even get the option on returns.

It's a win win for Apple as make no mistake we pay for it.

Just FYI for those going outside Samsung for ordering:

Best Buy charges a $45 restocking fee on phones (even though they have no restocking fees on anything else)

Amazon has no restocking fee (but they don’t do release date delivery for electronics, hence I get mine tomorrow)

Seeing these all side by side makes it even worse 😂. I came very close to buying the Redmagic 10 Pro due to the huge battery and no front camera cut out.

I thought Apple was going to move the selfie camera to the corner of the screen and party like it's 2014 again?

What case from Amazon are you getting?
This one in black though I don't see the color available now ..

Also I believe this was the case I tried at Verizon yesterday which had a nice fit but delivery is August 9 - 13

This looks a superb case for the Fold 7 from Benks; just no reviews and bloody expensive

Bestbuy also have no fee on un-opened/unused

Amazon do have returns fee on product by product basis, you have to check prior to ordering, unless returned unused

The Makavo looks really nice. That with a screen protector would probably work well.

Is it this one? I always like the Spigen ones but I'm really loving the Torras one I got. Seems a tad thinner and I love the 360 rotating magnetic ring/stand
