Amazon do have returns fee on product by product basis, you have to check prior to ordering, unless returned unused
Never been charged on Amazon and have returned several. Granted they reserve the right or whatever, but they have never done it to me. Just say the reason for return is it was running warm or the free trial of Gemini didn’t work. They won’t argue.

To be fair, Apple and Samsung have been doing incremental spec bumps for years. Both companies are hesitant to transition to silicon batteries and enhance charging speeds. Samsung used to take risks, but that trend has diminished. I am still surprised that they haven’t released an all-screen S Ultra phone yet, considering Apple is rumored to do so with the 20th Anniversary iPhone in 2027.

Samsung really dragged their feet with the Fold line. Unfortunately, Apple and Samsung can get away with minor hardware updates in the US due to the lack of competition.

I think you are being somewhat unfair on the Samsung Fold line given that is clear they have tried to stay sub $2000 yet every year have spent considerable R&D developing the hinge and folding screen that does not translate as obvious spec bumps to most. When you are doing this there is little room for other spec bumps.

There is good reason even Apple have to buy their screens from Samsung.

When your only producing 5-10M units a year the same economies of scale do not apply and Apple is the one who's really lagging IMO.

Sure some other Chinese OEM's are pumping out similar folding devices with ish higher spec's but then again I can buy a cloned Rolex for $75, so it it really a like for like comparison :)

It's not lack of competition holding back the Folds, it's sales and Samsung despite all the criticism its had over the last 6/7 years continues to take the risk and invest in Folds where Apple only joins the party possibly next year.

Is it this one? I always like the Spigen ones but I'm really loving the Torras one I got. Seems a tad thinner and I love the 360 rotating magnetic ring/stand

Torras cases are nice I’ve sampled a few on previous phones, that Spigen one definitely felt nice a slim although I didn’t get to test it for long.

You being lucky or smart does not count when your one of the unlucky ones :) and as you seen Bust buys do charge restocking fee's on multiple products

Same with Apple there are many good luck stories of people walking in with a broken phone and getting an immediate replacement. But try that when your travelling especially in a country with no Apple store only authorised retailers you will be in for a shock.

Apple's policies on returns or repairs vary worldwide and rapidly diminish if your out of the top countries like US/UK/Europe/AUS and even in those countries they reserve the right. YMMV

Is this restocking fee new for Samsung? If I remember correctly they didn’t have one when the S25 Ultra was released.

is the phone really slippery? I went caseless on my iPhone but idk if I want to take the same risk with the fold.

I am inclined to offer a differing perspective on this matter. In my view, both Apple and Samsung seem to be adopting a cautious approach. While I hesitate to definitively state which company is more risk-averse, it appears that neither is facing significant external pressure to innovate further. As we are aware, the market in the United States often divides into the iPhone and Android (primarily Samsung) user bases, with both companies understanding that consumer loyalty often discourages platform switching, regardless of new features.

Considering Apple's upcoming entry into the foldable market, it is also worth noting that Samsung's anticipated release of an Apple Vision Pro alternative this year follows a similar pattern. Rather than directly competing with Meta's Quest 3/S, it appears they are aiming to rival Apple, whose device was introduced years earlier. Consequently, their strategies seem to mirror each other in a tit-for-tat manner.

It will be interesting to observe the developments over the next five to ten years. Regardless, I anticipate continuing to support Apple and Samsung.

Seeing these all side by side makes it even worse 😂. I came very close to buying the Redmagic 10 Pro due to the huge battery and no front camera cut out.

I thought Apple was going to move the selfie camera to the corner of the screen and party like it's 2014 again?
They're all dragging their feet, haha. We're the customers Apple and Samsung adore...we'll buy whatever they try to sell us, even if it's just a tiny upgrade all because we want the latest and greatest. Lol .

Yes, very slippery. It's difficult to open without a skin or case.
Yes sir I agree though I love the way it feels so slim in hand unfortunately I can't see successfully making it through a week without damage with one slip away haha.

BTW I love this phone though and I think the outside screen now with that little extra with is excellent for my daily usage on the go.

Okay the case is in early thoughts are it's good especially for emergency case and I'm sure I'll keep it even after I received my Thinborne aramid. It has a nice feeling hand and the camera coverage helps considerably no wobble on the desk. I also like that the volume buttons are covered leaving the fingerprint and power button by itself making it easy to locate and no more issues opening and closing the phone LOL.

Is it super flimsy on the outside cover? Seems like a lot of cases are.

Anybody else use a ring camera and not getting notifications from the ring app? They come thru fine on my s25U and 16PM but not on the ZF7

I understand the desire to protect such an expensive device but having to put a case like that on simply ruins all the benefits of such a lightweight, thin, beautiful device. I decided a couple years ago now I’m using all my devices the way the manufacturer built em whenever possible. 😜

I paid for the extra warranty from Google for my Pixel 9 Pro Fold specifically for this very reason—no case lifestyle. Yeah, financially it may not be the smartest move but knowing I have accidental ‘oops’ moments covered. What aggravates me is that I still have to periodically use a relatively thin case to add ‘MagSafe’ to it so I can mount it in my car and charger it on any of my MagSafe wireless chargers.

I’m not buying my next Android foldable until the manufacturer put the damn magnets inside the phone.

Alright, sorry for the rant. Back to the Fold 7 programming.
