Exactly, fully agree.

Now it's whether I replace it or hang fire and see if they come down in price...

Been on my S24U all day and forgot how bloody good a phone it is!
It's always good to have options maybe just wait a little bit and see what triggers always nice having a great fall back

True; plus my pal that bought my first ZF6 from me has never used it after trying it and then putting it back in its box! Might be an idea...

But I've also found myself looking at the PG Pixel Folds too 😂

One of the best updates other than DEX for the Flip7, is the ability to now transfer over your secure folder and all your applied icons and keyboard themes stored in theme park. all done through Smart Switch. Now if Samsung can only allow us to save settings of other customizations to a shareable file, that would be great.

Is it possible to have app notification icons on the Flip cover screen? I've been using Goodlock and multistar and have all my necessary apps on the cover screen. But any time I get a notification it is just the orange dot, can't see which app until I either swipe or open the phone. If there isn't a way around this it could be the deal breaker. Love the phone, but half the purpose of the foldable is to be able to view notifications on the cover screen.

I still can't get over how much of a difference on the crease and not feeling it while navigating the screens and views. It might not look like a difference online but man it really has diminished.

I think the crease on the Flip 7 is even less noticeable. In fact, I'm thinking the "creaseless" tech they are expected to put in the Fold 8, is already being used on the Flip 7.

As you've already mentioned, you don't have to unlock your phone, you just have to swipe right, and you will see the app notifications. Now if you find that unacceptable, then you can use one of the fixed cover screens. Here's mine:

If you are using one of your own custom cover screens, then click on the orange dot, and choose "icon only." You then will see the app icons for your notifications. Here's one of mine using a gif for the cover screen.

I have to pay close attention to it the next time I'm near BB. Creaseless future foldables love it.

Thank you. So if I want to use my own cover screen video lock screen, there's no way around having to swipe and then click on the orange dot, correct?

Well that's been short-lived 🤬

Had to factory reset my Fold 7 today so I could set up the secure work folder for some contract work I've agreed to take on and need access to some of their apps via their secure VPN

Reset; got it started up; started to restore from back up once I'd set the work folder up etc and then it froze... And stayed frozen..

Forced restarted it; it did exactly the same

Did that again but this time without the work folder settings; it then bricked itself. So it goes back to Amazon UK tomorrow

Spoke to Samsung support; apparently the guy who I spoke with said it's not the first call he's had re similar issues, but as I'd bought it via Amazon and it's still within its 30 days returns, I'm doing just that tomorrow - it's boxed and ready to go back

I've set it all up on my S24U without any issues at all; so no idea what the Fold 7 has done to itself...

I miss bakelite phones, corded phones and Nokia bricks 😂
I wonder if this is specific to OneUI 8 and, if so, will we experience it too on older S/Z series phones in the coming months? Hope Samsung gets it ironed out by then.

My second screen shot is an example of using my own cover screen. Go into one of your cover screens to edit. Then click on the orange dot, then choose "icon only." Now when you get a notification, it'll show the app icon for the notification, instead of the orange dot. Look at my second screen shot, top right corner shows the app icon notifications.

Well it's here, I decided to keep it. I guess I'll be on the dark side for a few years. One big con about this thing is I am afraid to open it without a case. It's so tough to open, the hinges are really tight.

This is my main reason for getting a grip back case. I'm only going to unfold this without using the grip if I'm sitting down.

It is really interesting how often Fold 7 users report the challenge with unfolding the phone. I played with the Verizon, Tmobile, and BestBuy demo units several times and didnt find it awkward to open at all. I am curious how accurate the thinner fingerprint sensor is on the Fold 7. That is something I haven't been able to test.

When perusing Fold 7 cases, I specifically look for cutouts on the edge of the front cover to ensure theres enough clearance to access the fingerprint sensor when the phone is folded. Some cases only have cutouts on the edge of the back cover. The Samsung official clear slim case for the Fold 6 indeed makes it more slippery and thus harder to unfold than other grippier cases.

It is difficult to unfold compared to previous models. I think it's a combination of the thinness and stronger magnets.

The FPS is very accurate (as most side button sensors are), but muscle memory has to adjust due to the how thin the phone is.

Yeah I don't really find it difficult to unfold at all.

Speaking of cases, I'm really struggling to find the right case. I usually use phones naked, but for situations where I need a little bit more, I'd like something. I feel like the ones with just the back makes things really uneven. But I don't know about those cases with the weird front plate either.

I've been with him for a few days now and I notice a big change from Fold 6, especially in terms of form factor.

It's very, very light and thin, almost as much as the iPhone or Pixel. Deployed is so fine that it even makes something to walk with him, it looks like he will fly.

The larger screen, both outside and inside, is also an appreciable improvement. The exterior is now like a normal phone, and the keyboard is quite wider, which makes you type more comfortable than the previous model. It's something I noticed instantly.
Unfolded it is noted that it has a top diagonal, but the most remarkable thing is the fold, barely noticeable to sight or touch. I liked the camera under the screen, as it gave a more "homogeneous" and "futuristic" look, but the quality of the interior camera is noticeably superior, although it is not used much, it is appreciated that it has minimal quality.

The 200 MP camera is a substantial improvement over the Fold 6, although I think it is not enough to surpass the iPhone or Pixel, if it is now up to these. A shame the 3X zoom, with the 200MP sensor almost makes it unusable, because sometimes it is better to "crop" the 200 MP photo than to use the zoom. The bulk of the camera is exaggerated and makes you dance without a cover. I have ordered the transparent with the magnetic ring to use the chargers I have for the iPhone.

The battery is currently slightly lower, although it is true that I am using it more.

The audio confirmed that, without being bad, it is worse than the 6.

The fingerprint sensor works well.

Overall, the change is quite noticeable, it seems that more than a generation has passed.
