I came across this post on X and now just updated in Good Lock

I never really been into NavStar… I know it can hide or change the color the gesture handle, but never felt the need to.

I’m surprised you haven’t removed the battery icon on the status bar yet lol…
Have not been using Navstar lol and leaving that battery icon as a protest till they fix it

And that's kind of it. I'm out and about a lot and not sitting around (other than when I'm working). It's just a lot to pull the phone out and use that cover screen, then unfold it to do something, all while managing life with a 7 week old.
Congrats on the 7 week old. I have twin 7 week olds and a 4 year old. Life is busy for sure.

I don't like to scroll through pages of homescreens. Instead, I have my cover screen and inner homescreen organized with only a single page of stacked widgets, folders, and apps. Add in Edge Panel and everything I need is accessible at a glance and quick to access. No need to swipe through multiple homescreens to find something. For all else, I'll use the app drawer (which is quicker for finding seldom-used apps).

Similar approach. I use Edge Panel heavily... enabled show more through HomeUp so I won't have to scrolll, even have this app called Control Center to have alongside Edge Panel. When Stacked Widgets was announced... I used it quite a bit, but later decided it wasn't for me. Do you cover screen mirror off?

Correct, I have mirroring off and the inner screen serves as a larger dashboard for widgets and feeds. I want to be able to get all my data quickly at a glance with as minimal scrolling or swiping as possible. Just 1 or 2 taps at most.

I will have to check out Control Center. Thanks!

Well, it was a hard decision, but mine is going back. I love the narrower form-factor than my iPhone 16 Pro Max or my S25 Ultra, but I wasn't using the interior screen for much of anything important and would rather have better speakers and an in-display fingerprint scanner. No shortage of phones on the desk to choose from. Of course, fast forward 3 weeks and I will probably be buying a Pixel 10 Pro as well.

Going out and buying the Pixel 10 Pro is more of an indicator that book-style foldable is not what you prefer, which is okay.

I am the opposite when it comes to the (ultrasonic) fingerprint scanner. Screen protectors always affect them in some way where if conditions change / being outside and fingers get really dry, etc, it becomes a real chore to unlock the phone for Google / Samsung pay. I love the power button / side fingerprint scanner so much more, it works 100% of the time.

I don't unfold the screen at all during the day / office / work use but when at home relaxing, unfolding the phone to the giant screen is great. Even my wife who is not at all tech savvy and couldn't care less about phones paused and admired when I watched some Netflix on the inner screen. I've been watching a lot of Brewers games via MLB.tv and it's just awesome utilizing the benefits of the inner screen.

The only negative so far is battery life. I think I had only a couple hours of use yesterday with maybe an hour of on screen time when out and about (Google maps, camera mainly) and was down to about 60% battery. It's really inexcusable for Samsung to keep using the same paltry battery. They'd better give battery some real attention next year otherwise I'll be gone, as much as I love the Fold 7. Eyeballing this Honor V5 global edition, can't tell whether it has band 71 for U.S. use yet. If it does, will get interesting...

Loving this phone so far. Had it on vacation the last 5 days. Only complaints are that the zoom camera is less than stellar. Could have really come in handy a couple times. And it does get really hot when in the sun, once to the point where I couldn't use Expert Raw until it cooled down. Otherwise it's been a great experience!

I've had that happen with my S25U also when in Hawaii.

Agree on the zoom. I wish they would have gone with the telephoto of the Ultra, but it is what it is. I value the other advantages of this device enough to deal with it. If I'm on vacation I'll likely still bring my S25U along with me, but for most other things the zoom is good enough.

Yeah I think that happens with most phones for sure. The good thing is that it handled the sand well. I used my Supcase Beetle Grip and had no issues. I prefer using this phone naked but its nice to have a case like that in those situations.

Having my sim in this phone exclusively for almost a week now, I think I'm comfortable trading in my S25 Ultra. The benefits of the biggest screen are awesome and I'm much less annoyed my the opening and closing. I actually think I'm going to use is open while working. I have that stand that was recommended a couple weeks ago and I'm just going to plop it on there while at my desk. That way I'll enjoy the big screen more and I'll have more of a 70/30 open/folded ratio which will then make this phone worth the $$$.

Edit - Since this post, I've had major issues with this phone, mostly related to heat, reception and Android Auto issues. Unfortunate, great device but not stable like my Ultra has been from the start, so that's the end of the line for me.
