I would like to go caseless but the problem is usually the phone feels a little bit of slippery. I'd rather just go with the real thin case.

This might be the phone to get you over, I usually go very thin on the case though I don't plan on spending this much LOL
True, I didn't think about it being slippery. I'm using the Samsung S Pen case on my current phone which is fine but I'm going to look into other cases for the Fold 7.
I'm sure some cases start popping up next week and closer to release time
I think this time around… I’m going go buy a sleeve like I did with the Fold 2 and 4, I have a thin case for the Fold 6. But I’m not too fond of it… reason I got it was to avoid looking at the damages (minor scuffs).
Hoping I get full trade-in value… going to ship off the 6 as soon as the Fold 7 arrive at my door lol.

Ouch…would be quite surprised by this, especially as I just read a rumor about the upcoming Pixel 10 Pro Fold suggesting it’s getting actual IP68 rating and the price might actually be dropping $200 (would make it $1599).
Yeah not sure how credible the rumor was. I wouldn't be shocked just because everything costs more right now and there are some significant upgrades.
I'm currently using my Fold 5 without a case but I do have a Dbrand leather skin on the back for grip. It feels so nice.
I intend to upgrade to the F7 and will get the same skin with no case.
I don't mind folding it... but personally, I enjoy using the larger screen.
Yeah, price leaked for Europe. But Samsung has always been messing around with the cost… originally Fold started around 2k… then they dropped to $1800 when the Fold 3 came out. And now…. increased to $1900 with the Fold 6.
I don't mind the price increase if there's some discounts to bring it down considerable, as I stated earlier if I can pay under $800 with a trade in… then I’m going for it.
I think for me, I'm going to need to have assurance that the drop off in camera quality isn't significant. I'm not as big into photography as I once was, but I took some really amazing photos of the Gulf of Mexico earlier this year with my Ultra and would like to have that camera power. I am so intrigued though. A mini tablet would be great to have on stage when I play shows.
With Samsung adding 200mp to the main sensor and some AI camera enhancements… the quality likely will be good enough.
But I’m looking through the Reddit threads and found out last year we received $1500 worth of discounts, yet… this year is only $1150. So, I’m thinking… that paying under $800 might not be in the ball park for me. Last year, latest generation Galaxy devices trade in value was $1200 (S24U and Z Fold 5).. but it appears Samsung will be offering only $1000 this year.
Speculating here… if it’s going to cost $2100 for the Fold 7, knock off $1000, reserve credit $50.. education discount could be only $100 for me. Which leaves me paying $950 out of pocket… but I don’t imagine the Fold getting a $100 price increase. So, maybe $850.
You can buy a refurbished excellent condition Fold 6 for $1099 on Amazon US right now, so a $1000 credit still feels generous if that’s where they land.
Yeah that's really tough. For me to even consider it, it would have to make sense budget wise. That would be a tough pill to swallow for a yearly upgrade.
Just for anyone who might consider these...I purchased an "excellent condition, perfect screen" refurbished Fold 6 on Amazon (their Amazon warehouse) and ended up getting an empty box and several days of hassle trying to get my money back.
