After a few weeks two things bothered me, the inner screen is a fingerprint magnet and I heard you can't even install your own inner screen protector without voiding the warranty. That being said I have yet to see it in writing anywhere that this is the case.

Second is, there's something wrong with the YouTube app. Like you guys ever noticed that there's no ads or advertisement for YouTube Plus? Like when I clicked a video it just goes straight to it without having to watch an ad, that's weird.
You already have a factory fitted screen protection, removing this and fitting another brand if you can find one will give Samsung grounds to claim you damaged the screen by installing a 3rd party non approved product. Simply as the interaction between the Samsung screen and the 3rd party film can cause damage because of the difference in tension etc when folded.

I am not. I returned it this morning. The S25 Ultra is just too awesome to give up and I just don't really need a foldable. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing device, but just not something I need. I really felt the decrease in camera quality during my vacation when trying to zoom in. Glad I tried it out though because I realized that having the top camera specs and anti glare screen was actually more important to me than having a large inner screen.

I was thinking about the anti-glare screen on the Ultra when I had to use my ancient OnePlus 6 whilst my iPhone was getting a new battery. The screen on that was close to unreadable outside even though it was a typical overcast British summertime day. It was bonkers that mobiles ever got away with such impractical screens.

I am not sure if that really matters as probably the vast majority of IFOLD sales will be existing IPHONE users

As for competition if the IFOLD is based on the IPHONE chips and architecture then we will have the usual IOS vs Android preference scenarios

Now if Apple use an M1 variant then things could be more interesting
I'm sure there are iPhone users who have picked up a Samsung foldable but I think for the most part you are right. But the added competition from an Apple foldable should push Samsung to bring even more good things to the Fold I hope.

Someone supposedly compared Fold7 512GB/12GB versus 1TB/16GB. The performance difference seems sizable, and a bit sus. Also, not sure why the clock is different on both phones. Gonna need to see more comparisons to confirm this.

EDIT: Looks like a 12GB Fold 7 on Geekbench 6 site already reflects 2706/9111 scores. The left one in the screenshot appears to be underperforming.

You have to laugh

Dan's Iphone 16PM one year on

If someone posted this about a Fold with scratches etc, shattered back, a useless button and over heating

Can you imagine the comments lol

This is before we even go down the road of liquid skins and revamp of native apps like photos 😁

The days of Apple claiming to be the gold standard are sadly long gone
Nothing comes up by clicking on the link?

I played with the Fold 7 in BestBuy yesterday. It's probably the first fold I've held since the 2 or 3 and I was impressed how far it's come. This thing is quite the engineering marvel. Feels super high quality. I just can't see myself really ever using it opened, but I'll be honest in saying I was a bit tempted...

That's a really great price, 512gb shows as $1649 in my app as well. I got mine when it was $1999 but I'm 5 days outside of the Best Buy return window, so I won't be able to price match. $350 price drop isn't chump change. Grrr.
You not signed up for Best Buy Members? I take advantage of that 60 day return window policy… not sure if that includes cell phone purchases though.

Yeah, that's a bit of a kick in the mid section. I haven't checked, are they still offering the same trade in values as well?

Do these things break often? Contemplating buying one, but in my head glass can't gold without breaking quickly.
I've had every Samsung Fold except for the ZF5, both Pixel Foldables, and the OnePlus Open. Not a single issue whatsoever. The Z Fold 7 feels the best built of any foldable I've had to date. Samsung claims up to 500k folds with no issue and a Youtuber recently got 200,000 folds out of it before stopping. Anything is capable of breaking but I don't fear my ZF7 breaking anymore than I do my S25U or 16PM. I do get the Samsung Care+ as insurance.

Yes I have Best Buy Total but the return period is still 14 days for cell phones. Oh well.

As far as I can tell yes. I think BB would only match the trade-in price so I wouldn't get that $1649 price, would be $1800 ish which is a wash.

It was $1k during the preorder and release date… only issue with BB that they include full price until trade-in is processed. I prefer the way Samsung handles trade-in.
Yep this is why I only buy from Samsung and not through BB or the carriers. Even the trade in process was stellar this time. I received a notification it was received 2 days after I dropped it off at FedEx and it was reviewed and completed the next day.

What do you mean? They charge you the full price on the credit card until the trade-in is processed? What if you don't want to use a BestBuy credit card? Or do they send you a VISA/MC gift card for the value of the trade-in?
