I’ve been doing some research into the Fold 7 and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, both seem to have advantages and disadvantages. I’ve still got an about a week before deciding IF I’m going to get either one. Samsungs deal of the Fold 7 for £935, trading in my S24 Ultra plus 25% off with Samsung week will end fairly soon.
I’m not sure which one i should go with, or just wait and see what Apple will offer with their first iPhone Fold.

I just thought i would ask you guys in this thread, why did you choose the Fold 7 over the Pixel 10 Pro fold and what do you believe are the advantages it has over Google’s offering?

Some of the points I’ve been thinking about are:

It would be my very first Foldable EVER.

I don’t play games on my phone, i have a PS5 and Xbox X for that (when i manage to get the time)

I do take a lot of notes on my phone (when i don’t have my Mac with me)

I love taking pictures, especially at the beach. I’m also looking into photography as a hobby (when my time permits outside of working) and so the best camera i can get would be helpful.

I do value battery life, to at least get me thought the day

I watch YouTube on my iPad but I’m looking to move away from my iPad because iPadOS 26 is a mess in my opinion

With Samsungs current deal (as mentioned above) the Pixel 10 Pro Fold would cost more by about £200 when trading in my S24 Ultra.

Any opinions and help would be appreciated :)

- expect to actually not like the "foldable" at first. After 2 days, I felt like it was too much and went back to my Ultra. Glad I gave it another try though. I'd say it took me about a month to get settled in and appreciate it. Definitely think about how often you would have it unfolded collared to folded. That's huge. If you're going to have it folded 80% of the time, it might not be for you.

- the 200mp main camera is great. Combine that with Lightroom for editing and you can that professional looking shots. I'd still say if you're looking to use a phone for a photography hobby, stick with the S25 Ultra though because you have the better telephoto lens.

- This phone gets me through the day but I'm always around chargers. The lack of 45w charging does kind of suck but if you've never experienced that fast of charging, it probably won't be a huge deal to you.

- Watching YouTube is great on this phone. I leave it unfolded and sitting on a charging stand all day and I usually have YouTube playing music videos or who knows what else while I'm working.

- I say just pull the trigger. Even better if you have a 30 day return window.

Get the Galaxy Fold 7. I’m a Pixel 10 Pro Fold user myself and I love it and prefer it over anything from Samsung but that’s mostly attributed to my preferences and less on objective benefits. The P10PF does have a few objectively better features/benefits such as slightlyl better battery performance, durability in regards to dust/sand and water as well as built in Qi2 magnets but otherwise IMO, it falls short vs. the Fold 7.

The Qualcomm chip performs much better than the tensor, especially in multi-core usage, the cameras are better save for optical zoom reach, and the size and weight of the Fold 7 are why you choose that foldable. And considering you already have a propensity for using other Samsung hardware and its UI, the Fold 7’s software experience will probably be more enjoyable for you. Plus, £200 extra savings….

I love my P10PF and wouldn’t personally switch to the Fold 7 but again, that’s largely attributed to my personal preferences. I think you’d be much happier with the Fold 7.

One thing I forgot to mention. The Floss Factor. Literally anytime I'm in public and I'm using this thing, people are amazed by this phone and ask me questions. It brought back that excitement factor that smartphones used to have 10-15 years ago.

If I see someone passing by with an iPhone Air I immediately think to myself congratulations, you paid more for less, banana-head.

It really does feel like a luxury item, I always loved how bougie the Tag Heuer or Prada phones were. Sadly they're just not very practical and running on a poor software. The ZF7 felt like that right now(and the Air in some respect), however I would have loved it even more if Samsung brought over the premium trims to the US. Nothing an Aramid fiber case wouldn't solve though.

I love Google phones I love to use their Google specific stuff and I know it's a matter of preference for anyone but no way am I taking the Google foldable over my ZF7. There's just too much goodness with Samsung right now

My ultimate phone would be OneUi but everything Google is default, like no Samsung apps.

I would love to have the ability to delete Samsung apps that I don't use though they don't bother me since I keep them out of the way but I would definitely want to default to Google apps.

Google Chrome over Samsung Internet? I don't know about that lol. And even though I use Google Keep often... Samsung Notes is more feature rich.
I actually like my Chrome over the Samsung even though I know Samsung internet has great features but I'm so used to using Chrome across the board I just don't want to change LOL and I agree Samsung notes

Another thing that I enjoy with my iPhone and my Google phones when I have the talk to text or speech dictation on I can type something in between and the voice dictation stays on well when I try to do the same thing on a Samsung phone or my OnePlus once I type it disengages the voice dictation

I know the biggest reason to use Chrome is cross-platform sync. But with me, I have different browsers on each of my devices... Galaxy Fold uses Samsung Internet because of all the features, iPad uses Safari for the reason it doesn't benefit me of going elsewhere due to the fact no other web browser can use a different browser engine.

And with my Mac it's setup with Arc Browser.... now if I can get that browser on my Galaxy Fold and iPad, I'd switch to that in a heart beat. I wish more browser would adopt vertical tabs on tablets.

My pet peeve with Samsung is the double apps on Samsung devices. Google photos is great in my opinion, I would love to just be able to delete Samsungs photo app and have Google photos. I do like Samsungs customisation levels, but after I've changed a few settings and played around, I tend to just leave the settings how I like them and not bother with Goodlock outside of using it to alter said settings.

I have been thinking of giving the Google Pixel ecosystem a try, I appreciate the stock and clean look of Android. I have also learned that Android updates come to Pixels first, as well as that there are Pixel Drops every 3 months. BUT I also appreciate my S24 Ultra.

This is quite literally my only complaint about Samsung, but I have learned to work around it for the most part. I use Google Photos for about 90% of the time and only use Gallery if I need to post something on Facebook because Facebook won't default to Google Photos.

You seem to forget you tried a pixel before and the OS did not agree with you and you preferred and now familiar with OneUI

Whilst some updates come to Pixel 1st as you seen with S26/Fold 7 they got some latest features ahead of Pixel and often Samsung develop features way before main Android that eventually get adopted

The Fold 7 deal you are getting is excellent as too will be your trade in later with Samsung and possibly Apple, I also thought your deal got you Buds Pro 3 fee

For a 2nd phone get Fold 7 and have multiple reasons to play with it over your current dulled IP15 😑

This is a good point actually!! Do you think the Fold 7 would be a good tablet replacement? My iPad Pro is terrible on battery life since iPadOS 26. Also I’m hating what Apple have done to the multitasking on iPadOS. I have been looking at the Tab 11 but if the fold could do both my needs of a phone and tablet, that would save me having to buy both but also carry both around 🤔

How are you feeling about the discontinuation of Arc? I've heard/seen quite a lot of love for it so I was kind of surprised when the devs announced they were stopping support for it.

I wish there was a way to have it where if the phone is folded, I could use navigation gestures but when it's open, I could use the navigation buttons.

I wish my web browser would automatically use mobile websites when closed and desktop sites when open. As far as I can tell, neither Chrome or Samsung Internet have that capability.

Disappointed, initially. Because I enjoyed seeing those featured updates pages where they went over new things added. But it’s not necessarily discontinued.. it’s getting security updates. And it’s already good enough, tbh.

I tried using Dia… but it’s too barebones for me. Heard some good stuff about Zen.. used it a week or so, but I can’t find myself parting ways with Arc.

For many of your casual things then yes

Given this is your secondary device with almost 0 risk of loosing anything given the price you are paying you have an excellent unhindered opportunity to explore for months the flexibility that a Fold can bring to your work flow etc

Samsung Internet can switch to desktop site view but how you automate that between front and inner screen I am not so sure

Have you looked at routines ?
