Entirely subjective but it may offer quite a lot depending on how iOS handles multitasking and customization. I'd be willing to bet my life savings that nothing Apple does will come close to Good Lock. I can't see iOS adopting something similar to Edge Panel which makes life so much easier. I think the squared off edges of the Galaxy are much more aesthetically pleasing than curved or rounded edges. Samsung has been doing this for 8 generations now. I'm fairly confident despite being a 1st gen product that the foldable iPhone will be solid hardware-wise. The biggest factor for me will be how Apple optimizes iOS for foldable form factor. If they take the lazy approach and it turns out to just be a giant iPhone, that'll be an epic fail in my book. I can't see that happening, but you never know.

We will know in a week. It seems the sensible choice for those considering a Foldable, especially those already in IOS world, is to at least weigh up what it offers to the Fold 8 before buying either.
I hope the iPhone slam dunks their release but I can't imagine anything better to my liking than Samsung customization and tweaks that enhance the foldable experience. I'm definitely hoping for good quality UI out of apple

Most IOS users aren’t interested in over-customisation. If “flex mode” is supported, then it’s a big selling point that Apple would have. MagSafe too (without needing a case). I’m very curious to see the flood of Fold 8 / iPhone Fold comparison videos.
the thing about Samsung is people might think from the outside it’s over customized I don’t want that but for a foldable. It has a lot of useful features for daily task and has a big advantage in overall experience not customization for looks but for useful daily user experience, so definitely looking forward to comparisonsI think most phone users aren't interested in over customisation, it tends to be the more techy people. I do wonder if iOS introduced more customisation then it would become more popular.
Exactly, you can minimize equally as maximize your interface and make it personal. I have many standard items turned off 🙂
As a Pixel 11 Pro Fold owner, my observation is that the crease is 100% "strait of Hormuz" as Floss says in his videos. It's actually a tri-crease in my case (the main crease with two more slightly visible creases where the screen is slightly slanted, due to the main crease). It's so bad that text and straight lines can be slightly distorted depending on the content. I'm not going to return it as I actually enjoy the device but the Fold 8 is so much better in many ways. I have Pixel care and there's a Google store near me, perhaps they'd swap it if I bring it in one day.
Only for a small percentage of users I think. Most aren’t power users & are unaware of many “Accessibility” options, so they’re probably going to be happy with a simpler interface that does the basics right.
Well I think that elderly and kids are not the target range that we're talking about for this foldable and why I say that those that are going to be using a foldable would appreciate the extra features because I already see many people posting about what kind of features and multitasking along with other stuff they would like to see.
Things are already changing 🙂 IOS27 will have more apps working in landscape no doubt thanks to the IFold/Ultra

But it would be good if Apple did cater for the more enthusiast demographic that should go for the iFold () & add in a few more tweaks to customise the UI. Though I expect it to be similar to the iPad without anything too complicated nor comparable to the 3rd party Apps mentioned in here.
My experience is totally opposite to yours!I don’t know if I’m imagining things, but I kinda feel like the Z8 is less smooth than the Z7 was. I get dropped frames and choppy animations every single day, during normal use, I don't play any games on my phone 🫠.
I know Android isn’t as smooth as iOS, but One UI really seems to be the worst offender. I've read that aside from Pixel UI, Oppo apparently has the smoothness figured out, and if I’m not mistaken, Xiaomi also does a pretty good job. What are your thoughts, experiences, or opinions on this?
