amazing tech, I'm always interested in the internalsI am currently waiting for the new iPhone but I am so tempted to buy the Fold 8. I am just worried that I will miss the Apple ecosystem and end up selling it and going back to the iPhone. For example, I have my entire library on Apple Music and I use my Apple Watch Ultra alot. I was thinking of perhaps getting the Fold 8 and 18 Pro, but that is just too much money to fork out.

If you're not already using it, make sure to go into Home Up and use multi finger gesture. Also turn on the glow effect and vibration. Damn, what would I do without Good Lock. How is Samsung the only one to offer such an app. More importantly, how do people use other phones without it?

I thought I would miss the Apple ecosystem also but totally dont at all. The modern trasnfer to Android is so easy and having a Google account on Android is in many way identical to the iCloud system for all your info etc.

We’re on the same page… that’s why I don’t see myself moving away from the Galaxy Fold. And Samsung constantly finds ways to add new functionality to our devices.
I was thinking the other day how my perfect foldable would be the Oppo Find N6 hardware… as much as I like the Fold 8, the N6 is the best foldable hardware in the industry. Simply, no debating that. Then from a pure design perspective.. I like the Pixel experience since it’s much more refined.
And next up… let me have some Good Lock mixed in, but with its design language that mimics the Pixel. That would be the peak setup!

Who likes lofi? All i do is mostly lofi wallpaper. I'll start with some wallpaper that I like, then use Gemini to generate a 10:16 for the cover display, and then a 4:3 for the main display. Then finally I run the image through Samsung's Galaxy Enhance X app to increase the resolution and HDR filter, and any other touch ups that I like. If you don't use the Galaxy Enhance X app, give it a go. Here's some samples of wallpapers in the 10:16 and 4:3 versions I created using the method mentioned. I don't know why anyone would bother with a wallpaper app, when you have so many tools to make your own.

Though I enjoyed the clear case, it just feels so much better going back to my carbon fiber, I have a couple of OhSnap coming today so I will see how those look for my phone.Ringke case in the house for some days when I'm not with carbon fiber look and now just waiting on my matching ring / stand to come in for the pistachio days

Decided to re-order the Fold 8 using the $350 Best Buy gift card I got from ordering the Pixel 11 Fold 😂. Love the Pixel and no plan to return it. The crease is really annoying, for example, browsing this forum. There's noticeable distortion in the middle of the screen where the crease indentation is even when viewing straight on. This wasn't an issue at all on the Fold 8. Software-wise OneUI is just better on foldable. It's a shame because the form factor of the Pixel is so nice to use as a regular phone while folded.
Will use the two devices and sell whichever one I use the least.

I got to take a look at the phone today while I was at Verizon and the one thing that popped out to me other than the new form factor of my foldable was how much better my inner screen looks versus the Pixal Fold including the crease and the reflection.

It is very jarring. I didn't expect the crease to be invisible or even close to invisible. But if there's some distortion when viewing the screen head-on, that's just not acceptable. It usually only happens on light or white backgrounds when there is text or straight line(s) horizontally across the screen.
I haven't browsed Android Central in quite some time, will take a look.

I folded, no pun intended, and got the zfold8. Samsung really did something with this. Slowly starting to use it more and more now. I don't like putting cases on my phones. But feel I might have to because it rocks a lot! More than the Fold7 or S26Ultra ever did.

That was the reason that I posted my thoughts as it really caught me by surprise when I was in the store, I'm browsing the back of the phone and I'm saying to myself. Wow! This looks very nice. I like the new camera layout and then I opened the screen and it just slapped me in the face.
Most definitely a nice thin case and I've been adding magsafe rings/ stands to make up for the wobble, congrats on the new pickup!

I can't believe some of the amazing deals on the Fold 8 here in the UK. With a Blue light card discount (I use my dad's) I can get the Fold 8 for £914 or the Ultra for £1026. Holding off until Apple announce their foldable at next weeks event but this is very tempting.
Although she wasn't tied to Apple, a non tech friend of mine switched from iPhone 13 mini to S26 U and loves it, she doesn't miss Apple at all. Apple music has an android app (Make sure you have an apple device nearby for the 2FA), Otherwise there are apps to transfer libraries and playlists to Spotify etc. They aren't 100% infallible though.
You might actually get your hands on the fold 8 this year though...

Yes there is, just log into your account and go to Samsung, there are stackable codes as well. At least here in the UK.
