New rumors that the S Pen is coming back:

Welp, been down this road before. It was rumored that the S-Pen would be included on the Fold 7, unfortunately... going to have to wait until July 22nd.

What will really be disappointing is that Samsung include S-Pen support for the Fold 8, but not the Fold 8 Wide... I could really see Samsung do something like that.

We know that script very well, I could definitely see them doing something like that with different options

Well, I have heard that they will have it for the Wide and not the regular? We'll see...

Do you mind providing a link or source to where you found this at? If it ends up being the opposite… as much as I like the Wide form factor, I’ll choose the regular for the S-Pen.

I’m just curious on how the pricing will be given the regular will have a bigger battery, telephoto lens and it’s slightly bigger… so I wonder how much lower the Wide will cost.

This is one, but there have been others:

This was way back earlier in the year… kind of skeptical of that. But I am more optimistic that it will show up given that Oppo and Moto has added stylus support to their foldable.

What I find strange about this whole S-Pen removal situation… since Samsung response was to make it as thin as possible that’s why the digitizer was removed, well it seems that they plan to change course it make the Galaxy Fold thicker. I understand a larger battery may be the cause of this change, but I thought thinness was the main focus.

Yeah, in a few months, we'll know. Personally, I don't care about the thinness even though the Fold 7 is pretty sweet. Just give me the s pen. If it's on just one, either the wide or regular, I'll get that.

I forgot… or maybe missed it. Did you upgrade to the Fold 7?

That excuse never made sense to begin with. Even the Oppo Find N5 of last year had pen support on both screens while being just as thin with a much bigger battery as well.

Samsung penny pinching more likely

So is the Fold 8 going to be the more expensive pro version with better specs and the Fold 8 Wide lesser spec (mainly just 2 cameras on the back) but with new SPen, just to annoy us 🙂

I read all the chats on the new IPhone Ultra fold and it seems that most have never had or played with a fold device and seem to miss the obvious that you can rotate the screen LOL and you are seldom running your taps or swipes across the crease (ie your gesture strokes are just not that long for the action to occur)

I had all 7 folds from Samsung and I am interested in the wide version just for a change and find the comments on one handed use a little stretched (pun intended) given how hard it is on the large candy bar slabs.

I think those that do swap to foldables are going to be surprised when they stop viewing the world through a vertical letterbox and see how much media and other content is actually so much bigger and no black bars on each side, plus you don't have to tap to see in full screen 🙂

Well, from what I have seen from the chats most has been concerned over how wide the iPhone foldable will be on the outer display. Along with comparison to the Vision Pro... claiming it will flop.

Yeah, plan is to go with the Fold 8 Wide as well... but thats subject to change if S-Pen support is only on the regular Fold 8.

I'm just excited about this year... from Apple entering the market to Samsung potentially bringing the S-Pen back, skipped the Fold 7 since the removal of it. And with Apple entering the market.... Samsung won't be able to be cautious or make gradual changes to their foldable lineup.

This year proves Samsung is going all out with introduction of two book-style folables (heck, even released a tri-fold too)... awhile back, some forum member mentioned having two book-style foldable. One thats a regular and a premium folable with ultra-level camera (maybe a bigger battery too)... and I dismissed thinking Samsung wouldn't release two foldables simultaneously. Boy, was I wrong.
