Do their vehicles also only drive in REVERSE? Because this is a backwards move.
I find this kind of remark odd. There are so many other things that I'd put ahead of Carplay in my must haves that makes Phone integration pale into insignificance.I would never buy a car without CarPlay it is quite essential for my daily use.
You don't know how bad QNX is to develop on.... Dealers also deal with a ton of CarPlay and AA questions and troubleshooting... It's a complete waste of their time. They are necessary solutions to somewhat future-proof your expensive vehicle. When I turn on my car, the nearly-useless manufacturer UI appears. One click and the latest iOS 16 interface appears.
The vast majority of manufacturers will not update their software apart from defects for the life of your vehicle. They already made the sale, so there is no motivation!
I was thrilled when iPhone hit the scene and I got to say goodbye to awful carrier UI's. The AT&T badge was in the top corner of the screen, but they had no input on how I could use my phone or their network.
You must be a bit old school then. Wireless CarPlay is a game changer. Having the music, navigation, messaging and phone calls all integrated into one UI is fantastic. CarPlay trumps any other manufacturer’s solutions.I find this kind of remark odd. There are so many other things that I'd put ahead of Carplay in my must haves that makes Phone integration pale into insignificance.
All I need from phone is ability to connect via bluetooth and take calls. In both of my vehicles my music is plugged in, (SD card on one and USB stick on the other).
Things like heated screen are WAAAAAAAAAYYYY more important than CarPlay.
Phone dorks don't understand the auto industry.Car manufacturers don't understand customers.
They think it's the engines, the performance, the suspension that count.
Nope.
I remember the salesman's face when I said that the main criterion for me is CarPlay and a good place for cups.
