Am I the only one who cringed upon reading the title? We've had time to pay our respects and reflect upon Steve's accomplishments; isn't it time we moved on?

I don't like Clooney any more than the next guy, but Noah Wyle!? Yeah, he looks like SJ and he's played SJ before, but he's an awful choice for the role!

Did anybody watch The Librarian? Nope! Didn't think so.

Here's the thing about George Clooney, he usually gets the roles he wants.

Posting that Batman picture is unfair if you're using it to say that GC can't act. He certainly has a type of character that he plays, but so did Cary Grant. That doesn't mean either of them are terrible actors, just that their look and style lends itself to a certain kind of character. I'm sure there were a number of people who wondered if Jesse Eisenberg (the goofy kid from Zombieland) could pull off the arrogance required to be Mark Zuckerberg. But as someone who works in the industry, I can tell you that these actors are much more talented than most people give them credit for. Clooney is one of the best in the business, and I'm sure that if he really does want the part (something that I'm not sure is true), he will do a fantastic job as Jobs.

All that being said, and having no connection to the script or Sony, I sincerely doubt Clooney winds up playing Steve Jobs. Roles like this are often attached to multiple people before they're locked, and I'm sure playing this part is highly sought after.

How can he be an awful choice when Steve Jobs himself (and others that have dealt with jobs) told him he did a great job portraying himself? Did you even watch the movie?

Casting isn't that much about physical appearance, usually.

Unless the person's face is well known and recently popular.

So we don't have a lot of choices. Noah Wylie did a spectacular job before. He deserves to reprise the role.

If you have a star director, they might get away without a star actor. Steve Jobs isn't a total unknown, so the movie would have some built in name recognition.

Look, we all know that larry david is the best choice.

Noah Wylie = younger Steve Jobs

George Clooney = older Steve Jobs with illness (he would have to lose a lot of weight though)

My real preference would be for Keannu Reeves

Why Reeves? That guy can't act worth a crap. He's the same guy in every movie he plays! He's only ok if that one character he plays fits the role well. And I just don't see the character he plays doing all that well (even Brad Pitt acts better than him and I have the same complaint about Pitt).

You could at least pick some one who had one iota of acting skill in him. Reeves is one of the crappiest well known actors out there.

Noah all the way. Beating the cast Of POSV is gonna be challenging. Thats one Of my favorite movies. Hard to believe its made for TV.

+ 1

I always thought (now and then) that young Keannu Reeves (the one from My Own Private Idaho) would have done a perfect young Steve Jobs! But now it's too late for the young one…
Maybe the older one… I don't know…

Oh, and for those people who are just picking people cause they look the part, I'm sorry, acting ability is more important. There is such thing as special affects, as long as they look decently similar (or not outright not similar) looking the part shouldn't be a problem.

Besides, I'd like to have some one that could have me believe that is how Steve Jobs would act than some one who looks like him but has me cringing cause the acting is so bad.

Clooney, honestly, not the best actor either but his personality might fit well enough.

I prefer Wyles though.

But I think an unknown actor (who can act) would be an excellent choice.

This has to be a joke.

Christian Bale or . . . I'm really not sure who else. This role requires intensity (and SJ-ish ******ry that Bale can easily pull off believably.)

You need to just curb your enthusiasm, ok?

I vote for Noah. He played him well before - his voice suits the role too, similar to Jobs'.

George Clooney would only get hired to reach a higher audience (i.e. people who don't know or care about Jobs, but would see the movie because George Clooney is in it).

Wonder Years

First of all no to Clooney, maybe on Wyle, I'm thinking more of Ashton Kutcher, Leonardo or Topher Grace guy to play during Jobs younger years. I don't know who can play the much older guy, maybe David Hyde Pearce, Patrick Stewart or James Cromwell.

Second I don't think the movie is enough, after reading Jobs autobiography and especially listening to the audiobook, it reminds me of the TV show Wonder Years. I think it would be a good idea to do a TV show based on Jobs autobiography, I don't mind if they do the narration thing too just like Wonder Years. They could probably even put in a couple of seasons just going by Jobs book, tackling his childhood, teenage, adult life and up to his death. What do you think?

Viggo Mortensen -- he has the Jobsian intensity and has been able to transform himself from role to role.

That said, Clooney is a way better actor than Wyle -- watch The Decedents followed by Good Night and Good Luck and then tell me again how Clooney always plays himself.
