No. If I decide I don’t like it and to sell it rather than return it, when stocks are limited, I will sell it for exactly what I paid for it, including tax.

IF (and that's a big if), the supply is extremely low as predicted by "sources", would anyone who ends up lucky enough to snag one before the holiday season try to sell it for a small profit?
I am not blown away by the X, but am impressed. I was thinking if can sell it to make a few hundred (or double my money which would be nice). Also, I am toying with the idea of getting an s8+ because I am bored with iOS and am looking for something new. However, if the iPhone X is as nice in person as the videos make it to be, then maybe I will just keep it.
Don't bother commenting to berate me on the idea on how its "morally wrong". I could care less and if I can profit well enough from this then you bet your ass I will sell it.
It doesn't matter whether we're talking about the latest piece of electronics, shares of stock purchased at Initial Public Offering, concert tickets, or a subscription for collectible figurines. It's a gamble, and timing is everything. Activity by speculators often push prices up temporarily, and prices may soon crash when the intensity of the public's interest is better understood.
So go ahead, if you want to be part of the crowd that pushes prices up, do it. Just hope that you don't get too greedy, wait for prices to go even higher, and then discover, by the time you've sold, that you can't get the hoped-for price any more.
Hint: Amateurs often get burned.
If you are truly against the practice of buying something and then reselling it for a profit.
I hope Apple enforces a 1 unit per person limit, instead of the 2, and I hope all people who genuinely want an iPhone X get theirs and scalpers get no units.
I guess it didn't occur it the people in this thread that those who are willing to buy an iPhone X for >$2000 are the ones whose wallets won't have a dent in it from the purchase. You are not the target audience for the scalpers' market. It's ridiculous how entitled some of you are for claiming scalpers should leave the iPhones for people who actually need them. Did you stop to think who it is that's buying the phone? Newsflash: it's probably someone who needs it. Get off your high horse and do what the scalpers are doing if you want to secure your phone on launch day. Otherwise, just wait like the majority of people who won't be getting their iPhone X at launch.

Buying something whose supply will remain extremely scarce till the first half of 2018. There's a difference. It causes a lot of frustration to people who genuinely want an iPhone X, because now they have to wait even longer.

The point is though that doing this takes stock away from others. Some honest person who pre-orders day one has more chance of not getting it at launch because of scalpers.
Apple is not selling these to you for the price it costs them so by your logic they are a POS. Why are you buying a phone from a POS like Apple?
That’s a little different there buddy. You are buying a product that someone legitimately wants and selling it to make money yourself. You are taking a product from someone else just to price gouge the hell out of it. It’s just wrong. Let the people who want the phone to use it buy it instead of taking up supply so you can reach a personal gain.
LOL! Is it really that serious?People like OP disgusts me.
I have two guaranteed from my Verizon store. I’ll preorder 2 as well.
You’re Verizon store probably doesn’t even have 2 guaranteed lol gtfoh 😀
Bad idea, scalpers will be destroyed. If you're planning on scalping then you're basically betting against Tim Cook's supply chain being able to deliver.. bad idea, nobody bets against Tim Cook and wins. There's a reason he was called a supply chain genius, even Steve Jobs could not best him in that area.
Once again, if you try to scalp this phone, you will only cause yourself time + money + grief. Don't do it, Tim Cook will bury you.
