I don’t have any issues with scalpers in this industry because they are simply selling a non necessity. People don’t ‘need’ the iPhone X or any other phone, it’s just a ‘want’ product. It’s the same with cars and prices would not be inflated if demand was not there with people willing to pay it.Scalping car dealers suck, too. In 2002, I refused to pay over sticker for BMW M3 convertible, so I went to a dealer relatively far away, who was not "scalping" ($15k over MSRP at other dealers). When it came time to buy a less in demand model for my then-fiancé, guess which dealer got the business?
EDIT: At least in my case, however, said dealers were "scalping" in their actual business. No one here who plans to scalp iPhone X is an Apple dealer, so they suck even more.
It’s not like driving to famine regions in Africa and selling food and water with the intention of conning people and taking advantage. The iPhone X is desirable to some and that is it. I have no interest in it myself but if I was ofer d the chance to buy at retail and sell for a profit, I’d do it.
