They didn’t just drop the phones though did they, they were LAUNCHED at speed towards the ground, no one drops a phone like that, specially from 6 feet!
Where did you see them being launched? I do agree that 6 feet is an unrealistic height to do a drop test from.

LMFAO. Apple adds expense and fragility in pursuit of style on a phone that people cover with a case anyways.

Might be time soon to switch to Android. I love the integration between iOS and macOS but Apple's products are so weak now.

Looking forward to the X drop tests... In 2018 when they can get their hands on one!!

This is why I’m buying two iPhone X on launch day: if I drop one, I’ll have a spare while getting a replacement from my additional accidental damage protection. The extra insurance does cost 9.90 / month, but with the iPhone X, it is actually worth it.

The outpouring of sarcasm here is ripe, maybe rightfully so, but there is value in this information. For parents who are buying their teenager a phone that will almost certainly be dropped this information could be helpful, especially if the only info they’ve gotten is from Apple saying this is the strongest glass ever.

I'd really love to know what Apple means by so many things. What, exactly, makes the iPhone 8 have the best glass? And what the hell is "deeper pixels?"

Apple, seriously...

Samsung's industrial design is legendary in consumer products so these results make very little sense.
Seriously? You really wrote this? The legend of Samsung will be forever more "exploding phones"; It will take a very long time to live that down. The fact the Samsung Note 8 only becomes inoperable rather than exploding like a grenade has to be a step forward in their reputation of industrial design.

Didnt even include Everything Apple Pro's vid. He was the most detailed, guess he not sponsered

We know phones break, what would you expect? iPhone X will break as any other new phone in the future, they are not nokias, they break, you can give the phone and I will tell you yup it is glass... it will break. don't trashed it, give it to me instead, good thing most of the phones can be recycled, otherwise wise your are not very nice with with the environment and emerging economies.

You can still buy an aluminum bodied iPhone 7 that is and will be faster than most Androids. Or an iPhone 6S or iPhone SE – which provide a better & faster OS and experience than 87% of all Android phones.

Switch wisely.

It’s not that Everything Apple Pro is not sponsored – it’s just that the guy is so drop dead yammy & gorgeous that he’d hog all the video views. The others wouldn’t stand a chance against someone so handsome! He even drops the iPhones sexy.

Who cares, really? I ALWAYS keep my phone in a case. The Apple leather one fits perfectly, looks great, and has saved my phone from ANY damage after about half a dozen drops onto concrete since I got the phone a year ago (and I'm careful with my devices, but s**t happens).

Yeah, carrying the phone "naked" may look and feel nice but the average person WILL break it at some point. It's inevitable. Just get a case and your phone will probably be fine.

Dropped my iPhone 5s once, in its 'protective' Apple leather case. Total screen shatter.

Well, Apple has had their fair share of faulty products due to poor design, including exploding batteries. It should be noted that Samsung was first with large displays, first with iris and face scanning, first with bezel-less design, first with OLED phones, and first and only with curved displays. They are masters at design. Samsung revolutionized new levels of man-machine interface with Smart Scroll. Apple? 3D Touch. A pressure sensitive display offers no real-world usability in a TOUCH SCREEN device. 3D Touch is a dud that no one uses. It's a failed attempt at developing the next-gen human interface.

Not to mention Samsung's POWERFUL CPU and GPU with MORE cores than Apple's pathetic A chips with how much RAM? Exactly. Samsung phones DESTROY EVERY iPHONE. EVERY. iPHONE. Just look at the specs. There's no comparison. More cores, more RAM. Apple's new A11 is just marketing, including the embarrassing name: Bionic. Are intelligent people supposed to be fooled by this? Bionic? Really? With Samsung, it's more, more, more. iPhones are less, less, less.

Also, Samsung phones don't come pre-loaded with bloatware. iCloud crap, Pages, Keynote, Numbers, Clips, iMovie, GarageBand, Music Memos, Health, Podcasts, News, iBooks, Reminders, and everyone's favorite: Stocks and Tips. Apple seems to think they can differentiate their software with productivity and creativity tools. Samsung doesn't even have a software portfolio akin to iWork and iLife and yet people just love their Galaxy phones. Samsung design wins.

It interesting that we never hear about drop tests for any other consumer product.
Has anyone ever heard of a drop test for:
Cameras
Watches
Binoculars
Blenders
Flashlights
Eye glasses
Dinner plates
Drinking glasses
Vases
Clay pots
Home stereo equipment
Electric toothbrushes
Hair dryers
Etc
Etc

These iPhone drop tests are dumb.

Bottom line: You drop it, it breaks. And if it doesn't, you're extremely lucky.
