looks ridiculous and excessive to me. i live in washington dc and we reserve grandiose monuments like that for presidents and national heroes, not a consumer brand. fitting for a place like china though, i guess. gotta build something big to compete with the giant portraits of chairman mao.
Actually, in DC they take those huge gobs of money and give them to powerful politicians to build expensive monoliths in their home states that serve only as attempted bribes to get said politicians re-elected. You know, bridges to nowhere - that sort of thing.
But technically you're correct - those expensive money-wasting "monuments" aren't located in DC.
