what a great idea from a not-so-great movie

I didn't love the movie, but in this case, it's a great idea. Maybe I'll have to watch that again.

If I get an account I'd love to share any invites I receive back with the MacRumors community.

Thanks!

--- Update ---
Thanks to krimson, I now have a gmail account and some gmail invites to give out. So, just private message (PM) me if you'd like one.

--- Another Udate ---
I just ran out of invites. What a nice group of people in this thread ... keep up the random acts of kindness! :)

wow

I came back to this thread because I have a few invites I could give out... but judging by the number of posts like mine ("I have invites! Message me!") it almost sounds like we have more supply than demand now.

Of course, that's exactly how the "Pay It Forward" system is supposed to work... one helps 3 who help 9 who help 27, etc...

That said, it's hard to keep track so if people want, I can give out 2. Next two people to send an email to kevlam@writeme.com gets them. I'd rather you come ask me, than me being too proactive and emailing an invite to one of the "please send me one!" posts -- only to find that 3 other people did the same thing.

Thanks to the people here who got me my gmail account in the first place. Pay It Forward works! :D

This invite business is a brilliant way for Gmail to gain momentum as it is released. Why spam millions of people when you can get your customers to do it for you. Great product. Great - if somewhat shady - vehicle.

Maybe I need to get me some of that Google stock.

Incidentally, free invites are now easy to come by on a number of sites such as www.gmailswap.com. Try offering nothing over there. Seem to be a number of folks ready to trade you a gmail invite (average cost = 1 or 2 nothings) in an instant.

I got my gmail account from someone that posted here. Well, I've got 2 invites to return to the community, so please pm me with ur email addy if you want one. Like the other guys say, first come first serve. I got confused trying to wade through the thread!

I've got 3 invites left. PM me with your email address and I'll hook you up. Please do not respond if you already have a gmail account... I'm trying to help those less fortunate.

Edit:
One invite sent to mc68k.
One invite sent to irmongoose.

One remaining.

I would really like to have a G-mail Account. I used to have teg at Geocities, and teg at yahoo, but when they merged, my t @ g became teg.geo at yahoo, and my yahoo account mysteriously dissappeared. I'd love to have teg at gmail because it would really help out my seriouly computer challenged parents, both of which currenty send me email to both my old Geocities and my new Yahoo Account, and I'd love to get them set strait.

Please Help...

Sent one over; check your e-mail :)

I have 6 invites also. It seems that either people don't know what the hell GMail is, or everybody who does now has one.

I have 6 up for grabs, so PM me if you want one. First in first served, as always.
