Congrats on the new watch I'm loving mine! I have the SS model also but I couldn't think of getting rid of it.

I wandered into an Apple Store today (University Village Seattle) and decided to take a look at the Space Black SS watch (I was thinking of changing my SS w BCB for a SB SS w BCB). The rep accidentally took out the gold and midnight blue sport watch - it was love at first sight. YOLOd and bought the Sport gold with midnight blue. Just listed my SS model on amazon....couldn't be happier.

Not to mention blue and gold are my alma mater's colors. Go Bears!

Photos of 42MM Sport Gold with my entire band collection: White Sport, Black Sport, Green Sport, Black Leather Loop.

thanks a lot for the pics segrobja! the gold one look damn sexy, especially with the leather band. ordered the gold sport myself :) should arrive on tuesday.

I'm very happy with my AWSG watch, I can't imagine selling it for either color, but then I'm not a fan of gold colored products and the rose gold doesn't really move me.
Sports gold (yellow) really does look like a great timepiece, as long as it is coupled with the right band. I paired mine with a black leather band and it's just amazing to look at.. so much nicer than my old SS with the sports band in any colour.

that looks GREAT. really wish i could splurge on one. anyone know if i can switch colours for the applecare+ replacement incidental return?

or if you can switch colours for a warranty replacement?

I'd finally gotten to see the new watches in person on Friday. They are stunning!

But I was surprised how excited I was to see the stainless steel watch paired up with the new brown leather classic band and some of the new colored sport bands. I've decided to shelve my dream of a new gold sport watch for now, in favor of expanding the band collection for my SS watch. The love affair between me and my longtime SS watch partner is about to have new life breathed into it this Christmas!

Space gray sport is still a looker so I'm surprised people are selling theirs. If I had one, the new sport bands, especially Product Red, would be lovingly bought for it to give it new life, too.

No they won't let you do that. I've tried to do it with my iPhone replacements every time, and just a couple of weeks ago my space grey watch. Such a shame

Went to the Apple Store today to deal with the hard drive dying on my MBA. While sitting at the Geinis Bar with my MBA being diagnosed the tech goes "that's a nice watch". I say thanks. Then he proceeds to ask me if I had it sprayed gold. I said "no, you sell them like this now". He said he wasn't aware. Just to add, the store had them in stock and on display...

I originally got the silver sports model when it went on sale. Sold it shortly after because I couldn't find a use for it and there weren't many bands for customization. I've always been a fan of the dark blue and gold combination. Then this thing comes out and I suddenly had an interest again. Wasn't going to pull the trigger until I got an email from Barclaycard telling me I could get 12 month interest free financing. Needless to say, the watch will be arriving on Wednesday! Round 2 here we go.

Hi everybody, this is my first post in this forum. I wanted to show you my 42 mm Gold sport Apple Watch with my 38 mm milanese loop... I think it's really gorgeous, no? (note, that it's look bigger than in real life on my wrist)

Man that second image the gold looks so subtle. Maybe just the lighting, but now makes me want to go to a store before making the color switch for sure.

Yes, indeed it is, cause it's mate and not glossy gold. Some people might think that this kind of gold looks cheaper, that's right, but it looks less blingy too...

Can someone post pics of their 38mm sport gold with the stock "Antique white" band?
Just ordered the 38mm for the size but would much rather have the midnight blue band...too bad it takes 5-6 weeks to ship the midnight blue band. So I'll have to deal with the antique white, but can't find any pics of it in real life.

I'm not sold on the two-toned aspects of mixing the stainless lugs with the anodized aluminum finish. And this will be two-toned on top of that. The Leather-loop is the only one that will fit the lugs without introducing that kind of disparity. My question is whether Apple will EVER offer nicer bands for the Sport with matching finish lugs?

If anyone is interested, I have a Milanese loop clone I'd like to sell. It is a good clone. PM me if you're interested. It would look nice with a gold sport model. It is the one on the right. The OEM is on the left (not the one I'm offering).

Agree, and it's why I went for the black leather loop with my 42mm gold sports, silver and gold simply do not look good together.. but that's only my opinion.

I heard this from an Apple Store employee, so take it with a grain of salt.

The sales guy I bought my 42mm gold Sport from said that the Midnight Blue band that's going to be sold separately will have an aluminum colored pin whereas the one sold with the gold watch has a gold-colored pin. Something to be aware of. Don't know if it's going to be possible to buy a midnight blue band with the gold pin.

Yeah I've noticed this browsing the Apple Store online. It sucks, but honestly I don't think the silver part would even be that noticeable.
Definitely frustrating knowing that they aren't offering the band with the gold accents though :/

Thinking of getting one tomorrow. Just need to try out both sizes to see which I'm more comfortable with.

My phone and iPad are both Space Grey but all my jewlery is gold so It makes sense for me to get the watch in gold. Not a fan of the white or blue strap, black and gold is my favourite colour combination (I've passed up handbags if they're black and the detail is silver, forgive me, I'm female! LOL!). I'll change the strap ASAP.

count me as one who sold 42mm SG Sport for the new gold with blue band. It's really really nice, the gold is not overstated and love the blue band with gold pin. Picked up a black sport band as well to swap out with blue.
