I'm not going to search the forums for this so I apologize if it's in another thread or in the News.

If you want to see what the OP is going to, try the Windows 7 Phone emulator.

http://www.windows7news.com/2011/11/29/microsoft-launch-windows-phone-android-ios-sales-news/

From the link:

In what can only be considered a very clever move, Microsoft have launched a Windows Phone emulator for Android phones and iPhones that runs in the handset’s web browser. The emulator which can be found by pointing your smartphone at http://aka.ms/wpdemo seems to run quite effectively as tested by Engadget and uses your phone’s data to show you what your life would be like in Windows Phone instead.

As a way of providing a try before you buy experience it’s certainly a good one, though obviously not the whole operating system experience is simulated. Certainly the phone functions, calendar and messaging features work which is enough to give people a good idea how and why they might like Windows Phone.

How popular this will be and how many people will actually prefer Windows Phone after using is remains to be seen. The opportunity to try the Windows Phone OS on your own handset and in your own time however is both very compelling and very clever, and the fact that it’s just a website you visit and not an app gets around further barriers for Microsoft. In all, the company frankly ought to be applauded for doing something genuinely innovative for a change.

Thats a nice emulator and I never said that a Windows Phone is a bad choice, I've said it before in other threads that if I didn't have an iPhone I would most likely get a Windows Phone.

Its just that these goodbye threads are rather pointless because I don't know what the people are trying to achieve, do they think that we're going to switch because they did?

Are they trying to warn us that the iPhone is a sinking ship and that we should all jump off as soon as possible?

I've never been able to figure out why announce it.

I dont think he is asking anyone to miss him so why the bashing? Are you people such fanboys that somebody cant make a rational decision to use something else?

This is a Forum, not Facebook.

you do know that AT&T owns T-Mobile... right?

On August 31, 2011, the U.S. Department of Justice filed an antitrust lawsuit to block AT&T's acquisition of T-Mobile.

The case is yet in court and most probably the acquisition will be blocked by court due to the influential Deptt of justice.

I understand your decision, I am also on T-Mobile and I'm not willing to switch to AT&T either. I'd die before I pay AT&T another penny in my life.

But man, there are a lot of angry people on this forum. What's with the bashing? T-Mobile has GREAT rates and GREAT customer service. AT&T has neither of those. In fact, when I had AT&T and had problems, I'd call in and they would practically tell me its my problem...so **** them. :)

Good luck with your decision, hopefully they make an Iphone for Tmobile one of these days. Just dont quit Macrumors because that might be your first source of hearing an Iphone coming to Tmobile one day...(maybe)

The thread might be pointless, but if I really wanted T-Mobile there's no way I'd have an iPhone with the alternatives today. I love my iP4 but it's sure not worth 2G speeds after being forced to either jailbreak or pay full price for the unlocked version. With the iPad you don't even have to give up iOS apps either. So I get where the OP is coming from and hope he enjoys WP7.

What I find most funny is the Android trolls coming to Mac forums to call people here fanboys. I could swear this is Macrumors and that this is iPhone sub forum.

i am dumping iPhone only. The family plan i have for TMObile is a great deal and i tried all the carrier, I can't get the same or even close to it on any other. Verizon data sucks so does the sprint. AT&T is just a duche bag!

First of all, AT&T is in the process of buying T-Mobile. Second of all, have
you ever heard of UltraSn0w? Jailbreak your iPhone, Unlock it with UltraSn0w, activate it on T-Mobile. Problem solved.

I wish you had read my whole thread. I have been using iPhone ever since 3G came out with TMobile. The only way to do that was to jailbreak and unlock. I still have the lowest 1.59.01 baseband unlocked with ultrasnow. The problem is I cannot enjoy any of my other gadget due to this stupid TMobile thing.

Facetime doesnt work or I have to tweak but its not that supportive
Cant sync preodically caz I might update the basband in accident
Cant upgrade to iOS 5 caz tethered JB or unlock is not out
Cant use 3G

there are many more.

Also, for the people that are bashing me saying no one would miss me...I dont care if you do or not... My thread was just to release the frustration of going back to windows as I used to have fight with my friends about Mac vs PC and now I am going back to it.

In addition, I will never go to AT&T/Verizon/Sprint. I had them all in the past and TMobile is much better in all account.

I've never understood the AT&T hate, had them for years, and before that Cingular (when are accounts merged with AT&T). I've traveled all over the U.S. and never had a problem really with dropped calls, reception etc... except in a few northern places and mountain areas... which obviously was b/c AT&T wasn't in those markets as much as Verizon or Sprint etc.

Depends on your market, where I am in South FL AT&T kicks ass, when I was in N.C. for vaycay Verizon and Sprint were better on friends phones. If your gung hoe on T-Mobile then you have to find a phone to work with the network correctly. Personally I've never been a fan of T-Mobile.

Not that it matters (at this point (nor is it perhaps shocking (to anyone))), but you make absolutely NO sense; you claim to disdain AT&T, but yet you WANT them to merge with T-mobile.

When they merge they'll essentially BE AT&T.

He likes the cheap rates of T-Mob but wants the service of AT&T, and assumes he will have that when and if they merge.

Surprise! He'll have the service and rates of AT&T when that happens. :D

lol why on earth are you using Tmobile?

when anyone tells me they are on tmobile, I feel that they are beneath me.

sorry just sayin.

Wait, I don't understand. "Going back to windows"??? I thought you were just going to ditch the iPhone for Windows 7 phone, not ditch your Mac. Oh, wait, you are thinking of using a Windows 7 phone as "going back to windows." Please, as a Windows user, I can tell you, that thing is NOT Windows, just as iOS isn't OS X. Actually, iOS is probably closer to OS X than Windows Phone 7 is to desktop Windows -- I have no idea what underlying architecture WinPhone uses!

$70 a month vs. $115 a month, that's why.

I guess you like spending money unnecessarily.

It's a big difference in amounts, no doubt. T-Mobile does have a lot of perks, but I prefer having a signal everywhere I go over having a huge amount of cheap minutes that I will never use.

That being said, nothing wrong with using T-Mobile if it suits your needs.
