The problem is....Android sucks. I see other phones I like, but I simply can not deal with Android.

Agreed. My cousin has the Note 8.

Just got it 2 days ago and my used and abused 2 year old 6+ is smoother and opens stuff up faster. Camera on my 6+ is also smoother and pictures look more natural.

What’s the deal with android ? Google hasn’t figured it out yet apparently huh ?

Oh well. Bring on the X ! Can’t wait !

I've been using this LG V30 for a while now.

If you've ever wondered whether the Geekbench scores really make a difference...they do. 🙂

Document sizes that the 7 Plus could have handled with ease will cause the V30 to stutter.

The same with jittery Web pages. Having a lot of pages open and applications in the background, the 7 Plus remained smooth. The V30 gets jittery when you're scrolling.

Maybe this is just what Android people expect.

I'm keeping the V30. It's really very neat, and a brilliant screen. There's a lot of neat features to it, but I shouldn't bore an Apple forum with the details.

However, I admit that I will still be camping out on October 27th with the best of you, waiting to get an iPhone X.

I hugely underestimated the difficulty with integrating the V30 into the Apple ecosystem, and as neat as the V30 is, I need a regular iPhone as an everyday carry at work.

Yeah it's very big change unless you've always been in the ecosystem. There are many tips and tricks that I've used on the V30 to make it just as fluid as the iPhone. You do have to play around with settings more on android but that's what I've always liked about it. Do you have developer settings on?

I do like iOS. I think I likely always will. However, I like android too. For me right now, it's the difference between being able to use my data and have clear calls. Unfortunately until Apple resolves the war with Qualcomm, I'm not getting the best service T-Mobile provides.

I like that the V30 doesn't refresh all my apps. I've noticed since iOS 11 that as little as two apps will refresh on my 7 Plus. It makes it really hard to multitask. I can leave an app open all night on the V30 and it'll still be right where I left off the next day.

Every user will have their expectations and needs.

I prefer Android more or at least starting in 2013. But one of the reasons why I went back to iOS after a near 4-year hiatus is among all phones in US carriers where you can pay installments, iPhones remain untouched.

No carrier bloatware, boot animation, and branding. Only Pixels on Verizon got the same iPhone treatment. I booted up my Pixel and I see the Google logo. Verizon added one app that could be easily deleted.

For now on, I will only buy Androids unlocked while on iPhone, I can go with Verizon which is already unlocked or wait two months to get the T-Mobile unlocked. I simply hate seeing carrier of anything on my phones.

Carriers and big corporations are all gold diggers. It's not about love. It's all about the money. Carriers are some of the worst. I like T-Mobile and Verizon but all of them are leeches. Hence, picking up Pixel or iPhone w/o carrier bloat.

Imagine athletes and movie/TV celebrities. Do they really care about you? If not, then why worship them like a god? They don't pay your bills. We help pay their's. Don't get too attached to any company. Only business. Never personal.

LG V30 & iPhone X is the perfect smartphone camera combination of 2017. Wide-angle and 2X optical zoom. Worse dynamic range than Samsung but better white balance and natural colors.

Why would you be loyal to a company anyway? That's just stupid. A business transaction should only involve mutual benefit. When that business no longer makes products that you like or benefit you, staying with them is just dumb. It's the same for anything else; a career, relationship, friendship, spouse, etc.

Not if you are no longer happy. Why stay in a miserable situation even after working on it for a long time. I always shake my head at people who continuously complain about their misery and don't get out of it.

Same. People change and tastes change. It may have been good before, but you have to be able to cut losses.

An Android phone is like a Windows PC to me, I hate both, the fact that both force you to update to the latest software or patches annoys the hell out of me. When I had my last Android phone, Note 3, it forced updated to whatever the newest version of Android was, whether I wanted to or not.

I like having the option to stick at whatever iOS i'm on.

If this was sarcasm it was on point.

It is funny to read your post. You say you feel betrayed, stabed with a knife. First, get values and priroties straight. Second, for you to feel betrayed someone would need to promise something and then lie. The iPhone X notch is a betrayal? This post is telling me that Apple built a relegious relationship with people, otherwise how on earh one can explain such thinking.

I don't have much to say in this letter, not even sure if this is the right place to post. I've bought almost every model of iPhone from the iPhone 3 in 2008, and loved mostly every experience of it.. until now. It seems everything's going to hell with Apple. I'll be searching for a downgrade of a phone, but I will no longer support this company, even if it means a worse phone experience.

I am still in shock from the release of the iPhone 8, and X. I feel like someone I was in a trustworthy relationship over a long period of time stabbed me in the back and walked away. I guess It's my fault for letting myself get attached to a company.

iPhone X isn't perfect. It is flawed, and Apple, if you truly think it's appropriate to ask your community to "get used to" or adjust to the akward black bevel on your "borderless screen" that.. by the way blocks videos and makes the experience inconvenient for an outstanding price you're wrong.

and about the iPhone 8.. well it's nothing special compared to the iPhone 6s. They're basically the same, with some small upgrades. Not worth the price.

What are your guys opinions about apples recent decisions? Am I the only one?

I'm new to this. 🙂 I don't even know how to do that, but I'll look around.

I'm with you there. :-(
Go to settings, about phone, software info and then click build number a few times. It'll reveal the developer settings. Changing animation is a good place to start if you don't mind turning them off.

I'm considering trying out a Nokia 9 when it becomes available, not because I think the iPhones are suddenly dreadful and apple has 'betrayed' me, but because the device interests me and I'm willing to give Android a go (this will be my first android phone). I dislike the idea of being too tied to one manufacturer for everything, but if they're offering the best device in every category I wouldn't actively avoid going all Apple, Microsoft etc. I think the one device Apple is still honestly head and shoulders ahead on is the iPad, there's no real competition for it as a casual consumption device with a rich ecosystem of apps and games, instant-on, smooth, intuitive interface etc. But for Macs and iPhones I think there are decent alternatives that I won't shy away from trying.

I have found the complete opposite - iPhone 8 Plus vs Note 8, no difference in performance, both seem equally fast. I plan on getting the X, as I always get both iPhone and what I consider the best Android device for that year. And for the first year ever, I am considering using the Android device (Note 8) as my primary device.

In my mind, I set that I'd seen your post at XDA and was frustrated when I couldn't find it.

A quick Web search told me how to find Developer Options.

I've turned them on, but I'm afraid to do too much. 🙂
