In my mind, I set that I'd seen your post at XDA and was frustrated when I couldn't find it.

A quick Web search told me how to find Developer Options.

I've turned them on, but I'm afraid to do too much. 🙂
Best thing you can do is just turn off all animations. It has done wonders for me honestly.

I'm just now venturing back into android myself so I'm pretty sure I'll mess up something!

If you don't mind a hit on the battery life, turn on force GPU rendering. It makes certain apps run better but for me the battery trade off was not worth it.

I don't have much to say in this letter, not even sure if this is the right place to post. I've bought almost every model of iPhone from the iPhone 3 in 2008, and loved mostly every experience of it.. until now. It seems everything's going to hell with Apple. I'll be searching for a downgrade of a phone, but I will no longer support this company, even if it means a worse phone experience.

This appears to be addressed to Apple so I'm not sure why you are posting it here ?

How does Android Suck? I mean in an objective way? For about 99% of the population an Android device will do the same thing as an iPhone.

Facebook
Instagram
Snapchat
Twitter
Email
Web browsing
Photos
Videos
Video playback from Netflix or etc
Listen to music
Games
Etc

The only difference is how to get to it on the OS. Don't like Android execution fine but it doesn't suck for it the same way how ios does it doesn't suck.

I won't say that Android Sucks, it does do everything the iPhone does and even a bit more. My last foray into Android was the Galaxy S5. It was a decent enough phone but the bloatware on it drove me crazy, as well as space issue I ran into as a result. I do realize that I could purchase a Pixel and avoid all of these issues but I just like the experience better in iOS. It's a matter of preference and competition is good for consumers. I will say that Apple should have upped their screen game awhile ago, I will be interested in seeing how the iPhone X stacks up in the area of VR.

I am still in shock from the release of the iPhone 8, and X. I feel like someone I was in a trustworthy relationship over a long period of time stabbed me in the back and walked away. I guess It's my fault for letting myself get attached to a company.

iPhone X isn't perfect. It is flawed, and Apple, if you truly think it's appropriate to ask your community to "get used to" or adjust to the akward black bevel on your "borderless screen" that.. by the way blocks videos and makes the experience inconvenient for an outstanding price you're wrong.

and about the iPhone 8.. well it's nothing special compared to the iPhone 6s. They're basically the same, with some small upgrades. Not worth the price.

What are your guys opinions about apples recent decisions? Am I the only one?

Seems like some took a pay cut at their job....

S5 to S8, there's about a world of difference. SAMSUNG have been moving forward at the speed of light (unlike Apple who in certain ways are going backwards).

From my recent experience, I'd say that it might do everything the iPhone does...but a little more slowly. (LG V30 v. iPhone 7 Plus)

iMessages turned out to be a much bigger advantage than I was thinking.

I like the V30 enough to hang onto it, but I think I'm going to have to go back to an iPhone as a daily driver.
[doublepost=1509034770][/doublepost]Let me hasten to add that I have found some things in Android from which iOS could maybe take a lesson insofar as a basic idea and operability goes. 🙂

Quit the drama already. Apple is the only company which offers a well-integrated software experience in a very quality hardware. For instance, nothing beats the beautiful integration of Apple Watch and other fitness apps with the stock Health app; nothing beats the smoothness of iOS and the high quality of Apple customer support as well as privacy of the system overall. I am not a big fan of the iPhone X as it is (maybe in a future iteration with smaller notch) but I voted with my wallet and I got myself a gorgeous powerful iPhone 8 Plus instead and I couldn’t be happier. I wouldn’t give up on Apple so easily if I were you as you may regret later on. I used Android for a while and even though the system is snappy the quality of the apps is not comparable to the ones you find on iOS really. It seems developers really take more care of their apps on iOS in terms of updates and overall guide user interface.

Cool story bro. 1 total post to rant on an Apple board how you are quitting Apple

Reminds me of:

Really? This is the one that made you leave Apple after owning almost every iPhone? I would say Apple's made some real stinkers (5, SE, 8, et cetera). But the iPhone X is one of the more revolutionary iPhones in the history of their lineage. I think one day we'll look back and FaceID and all-display front will be the norm. Not to mention the phone looks absolutely gorgeous.

I've used iPhone 6 plus for more then two years, but it was getting slow, so the only best available phone was Samsung S8, so i bought S8+, i liked it but was still missing iOS, so i finally again bought iPhone 8+ (avoided iPhone X as i already have S8+ with similar screen and look)

But still Apple is now going backward, really expected some thing much more innovative

I've still not given up on Apple, still using using Mac, iPad as well as iPhone 8+ along with Galaxy S8+ (secondary phone), but if Apple does not gets back on track to provide something innovative I'm sure many users are going to ditch Apple just like the OP

It looks gorgeous to you, that’s your opinion. To me it’s hideously ugly, so I’ve not bought one. Happy with my ‘stinker’ iPhone 8. 🙄😉

You think the 5 was a stinker?

What makes our views so subjective is where each of us come from..........you see, from the 5, my prior phone was the 3GS, so the 5 is my favourite design of the 3 iPhones i've owned (3GS, 5, 6s).

This is why people shouldn't be so forceful with their opinions - not all of us buy every iPhone & therefore share comparisons with those who do this annual upgrade.

What type of innovation are you after?

I dont see any point in this post. Why are you upset and feeling the need to publicly announce it? None of the previous iPhones have been perfect either. Each has their pros and cons including phones and tech/gadgets from other manufacturers.

You also seemed to have joined only recently which makes me all think...troll! Apologise if that was not your intention.

I was well in the Apple camp and I owned every iPhone up to the iPhone 5. I had an Apple TV, an iPad, an iMac, a MacBook and Airport Extreme and Express routers. Then I decided to try Android. The geek in me loved it - I could tinker and personalise it to my heart's content. I have had several Android phones and have recently bought the Pixel 2. I looked long and hard at the iPhone X and seriously considered buying one but playing with a friend's iPhone 8 and searching in the App Store for apps I would need to create a similar experience on iOS to what I am used to on Android made me realise I would be going backwards. I couldn't believe how awful iOS notifications are, how dreadful the iOS interpretation of widgets is, how lacking app interoperability is and how that static grid of icons looks just the same as it did on the first iPhone. I just knew I wouldn't be happy. I got as far as adding an iPhone X to my cart on Friday - and even got a 3 Nov date for delivery - then I came to my senses and deleted it.

I realise it's about personal choice and it's good to have competition but it does concern me how so many people are sucked into the brand - whether it's Apple or Samsung or something else and lose sight of the actual product. I have witnessed colleagues having problems with their iPhones and they NEVER criticise Apple - they accept the issues and would rather point the finger at themselves. Similar issues on Android, without such brand loyalty, and the OS, the manufacturer are in the firing line. It's very interesting to observe and Apple has to be congratulated in creating such brand loyalty - but it doesn't suit my psyche. The whole Apple show where they introduced the new iPhones made my skin crawl - for some reason it made me think of the Visitors on the TV mini-series V. I couldn't shake off that feeling, as irrational as it was.

Just to add - I still use an iMac - I have a 4k 2017 version, and still love the Airport Extreme networking devices, but I'm more than happy running Windows 10 on the iMac. No doubt about it, Apple hardware is good.

The problem is....Android sucks. I see other phones I like, but I simply can not deal with Android.
I said that for many many years and then last year I ended up getting rid of my iPhone because it always died half of the day with the crazy battery it had and got a galaxy edge seven, to be honest I couldn’t be happier my son is a very diehard iPhone person and he bought the x,I might even go for one of their tablets instead of the pro that I’m using now

First world problems. You're devastated by a bevel, the humanity. Actually guess what they are right you will get use to it. Humans get use to just about anything.

Just noticed the OP got 40 likes.
